Presque Isle Downs - Race #5

#7 Foxxy Cleopatra	She's obviously got some issues -- she's got a couple long layoff lines and is making just her fourth lifetime start in a career that opened with a score here in June 2023. That said, she should trip out from this draw while forcing the issue and seems a good fit with her best.
#1 Mitole Magic	Bit worried that she'll get a tricky trip from the inside here, but she ran well in a couple starts for this team here late last season and can play with these if she's ready to fire fresh.
#2 Heart	Her form is pretty honest, and she has enough positional pace to sit close early. Mild worry about the price, but she seems like one of the ones.
Race Summary	Foxxy Cleopatra returns from an April 2024 layoff while dropping out of stakes company, and she should get a great run of things while getting back to a surface over which she graduated at first asking.

Presque Isle Downs - Race #7

#5 Kotylos	He was pretty good here last year and gets a little bit of class relief out of a tough turf spot at Tampa last out. Second off the break while returning to his favorite spot -- lots to like.
#4 Impacto	Think he's the one to beat with some really honest spying form, but he's at least a little question mark over the local footing. Wouldn't argue with you here.
#6 Goodie Goomer	He won the Mile here a couple seasons back and has done a lot of good work going long -- but he scored going short off the bench here last season and isn't out of the question.
Race Summary	Kotylos brings some dull recent form, but he can wake up today while getting back to the scene of all his best efforts. Toss the turf tune up.

Presque Isle Downs - Race #8

#5 Nun Gimel Hey Po	Nothing much from her through two starts, but she gets into an easier spot today while bringing some potential pace in a race without much speed.
#7 Dorotea Dream	Dropper looks solid after a good run with better last time out, but I could see her getting past most of them and still settling underneath again. In the mix.
#8 Haut Les Coeurs	Turfway form seems competitive here, and I like that her form woke up a bit once she got into a similar kind of spot on synthetic footing. Dangerous.
Race Summary	Nun Gimel Hey Po has a little bit of pace that could set her on the front end, and a soft lead up the backstretch could make her tough to reel in.

Race Summary	LOOKIN FOR JUSTICE lands in an ideal spot for his seasonal debut. He’s 3-43 overall and 1-25 at today’s distance, but he can control the pace off a recent 1:00-2/5 workout at Delaware. He was last seen in the fall chasing hard-hitting Flat Lucky (15-68, $433k) and he finished second in a five-horse field. Bet to win and place and play 2-7 and 1-7 daily doubles.

#7 RITABOOK (9-2)	Can maximize her speed in repeat bid going a route of ground.
#2 VODKATINI (6-1)	Finished second in her last three starter allowance routes.

Race Summary	RITABOOK could return a quick claim dividend as she seeks her third win since March 12. She set the pace in a longer route race at Tampa last out while in-hand, came under a drive on the turn and kept the pursuing favorite in the rearview mirror. DOROTEA DREAM - Got to appreciate a good work horse. This filly's last work was second fastest of the day for the distance. If the speed horses get weary, this filly will kick into high gear. This filly is probably the best stretch runner in the field. This filly is in top form right now. Ended up third last time around the track and comes back soon. Have to forget about that last grass race. This filly should do better hitting the dirt right here in this race. PP lines show this racer with three improving speed figures. Rodriguez should be on a live one in this field. HAUT LES COEURS - Taking a trip down in class ranks; has the form to make her presence felt. This filly is certainly on the improve with Equibase speed figures of 58, 62, 73 last 3 out.

NUN GIMEL HAY PO - Recorded a run-of-the-mill speed figure last time around the track in a $25,000 Maiden Claiming race on May 3rd. Improbable to see an improved performance off of that number. DRINK DEEPLY - Just can't invest in this racer. Didn't show me anything positive last time out or on Mar 2nd. BAYTOWN STORM - This animal doesn't have a conquering spirit. Repeatedly finishes close, but no cigar. Finished third in her most recent effort with a common speed figure. When I look at today's class rating, it would take an improved performance to win after that in this field.

SHORTLY - Shows a classic conditioning move. Routing today after two short distance races. CONVERT - Was in a $7,500 Claiming race at Thistledown in the last race. That race had an Equibase class figure of 81 and he is moving down right here. A certain win candidate. I like to bet on this handicapping theory, a thoroughbred coming back off a good contest within the last month or so.

Vulnerable Contenders: #3 AVAILABILITY (ML=2/1), #2 SWEET TRAVELS (ML=7/2), #1 LT'S JACKNTHEBOX (ML=5/1),

AVAILABILITY - I don't normally play a chalk horse that hasn't been to the track in the last two to three weeks. SWEET TRAVELS - The finish position of sixth in the last event shows me that this equine may be going off form. When examining today's Equibase class figure, he will have to garner a better speed fig than last time around the track to vie in this dirt route. LT'S JACKNTHEBOX - Would have to perk up off that third place finish last time out to make an impact here.
