    #2
    Brian W. Spencer's Daily Picks

    Hawthorne - Race #3
#4 Omaha Stamp She's back fresh while returning to the surface on which she ran a good one in her career debut, and the hope is a couple of players with a bit of speed will keep the splits honest.
#2 Mary Moonglow Tactical type is supposed to be tough here for a top team, but I worry that there are a couple other forward players lined up here that could lead this one to another one-paced effort late.
#3 Escovedo She has some speed to force the issue out of the same barn as 'Moonglow, and we might not have seen her very best yet. In the mix.
Race Summary Omaha Stamp should get a decent race flow today, and I'm hoping the presence of the listed pair from the Rivelli barn will help keep the price playable.
    Hawthorne - Race #4
#8 Nathaniel's Hope The Florida form isn't much, but he was decent here last season and might find this group a bit more to his liking. Price may be OK, too.
#6 Double Neat The form isn't all that compelling, but it's reliable enough, and the move back to turf may give him room to wake up a bit.
#1 Maasai Warrior Finisher has a couple races on the page that would probably make short work of this crew, and his turf form is honest enough.
Race Summary Nathaniel's Hope has some midrange price appeal here while looking to bounce back, and I am hoping he'll find some of that good form from here last season.
    Hawthorne - Race #5
#5 Therdgoesonforever She just couldn't stay late in that last one when rising for the new team, but I think there may still be a bit more here at what should be a decent price today.
#8 Smoked She's from a fun family, and she has made it look easy through two perfect starts. Think she's in the mix here and could see her taking the show on the road soon.
#6 Sunset Express She should be up on the splits, and she took a liking to the local crew last out when dusting a nine others for her graduation score. She can win right back.
Race Summary Therdgoesonforever may be an OK price today after an OK enough effort with similar last time out, and she could dig in if she's able to shake off a challenger into the lane.

      #3
      Frank Carulli's Daily Picks

      Delaware Park - Race #3
#4 QUEEN KHALESI (10-1) Good try on the stretch-out in distance, lures Rodriguez, turf the question.
#1 PEGSTER (7-5) Awakened on turf, pressed 5-to-2 pace setter before first-time starter passed by.
#5 INDY’S UNIVERSE (7-2) Set solid pace, held second, has to carry speed farther in second try on lawn.
Race Summary QUEEN KHALESI ran second on the main track in her first route attempt, finishing ahead of Missy’s Map, who went wire-to-wire to break her maiden last Saturday at Delaware. She lures Rodriguez to ride and if she takes to the turf, she should have plenty of pace to rally into. Bet to win and place.
      Delaware Park - Race #5
#7 INCHON (7-2) Saved ground while chasing even-money winner at 1-1/8 miles and held second.
#4 STATES UNITED (12-1) Won twice up front after 8 months away, sheds 11 pounds on switch to turf.
#1 JUST FOR LUCK (3-1) Five seconds in 12 starts on lawn, makes first start for Dutrow to begin season.
Race Summary INCHON saved ground while chasing the even-money winner at 1-1/8 miles and held second. He averages a 77 Beyer speed figure in his last five grass routes, making him worth a win and place bet. Also play a 1-4-7 exacta box.
      Delaware Park - Race #6
#6 WAIT A SEC (6-1) Regained winning confidence at notch below, can make good use of speed again.
#2 SIMMERING (2-1) Played the bridesmaid at three distances recently, twice as the odds-on favorite.
#1 OSCAR GAZE (7-2) Hit good stride in $5,000 claimers at Tampa, gets Paco on return to town.
Race Summary With five $50,000-plus earners at 6F in the field, it appears anyone’s race in this $6,250 claimer. Tampa invader WAIT A SEC dug in for her first win in two years on the class drop but she looks fastest of these and is worth a price stab to do it again. Bet to win and place and play 6-1 and 6-2 exactas.

            # 3 RIESENBERG 9/5
            # 4 RULE IT 5/1
RAMSEY looks to be a decent contender. Has been racing solidly and has among the strongest speed in the race for today's distance. This gelding is a definite contender based on his earnings per start in dirt route events. Displays reliable Equibase speed figs on average overall when matched with the rest of this field. RIESENBERG - Will almost certainly come out sharp - I have liked the way this gelding has moved promptly to the lead recently. Has a solid shot for this event if you like back class. RULE IT - Is a solid choice - given the 82 Equibase Speed Figure from his most recent race.

              Gulfstream Park - Race #9 - Post: 5:07pm - Claiming - 5.0 furlongs on the Dirt. Purse: $24,500 Class Rating: 75

              Rating:

              #3 SPIRIT OF VICTORY (ML=6/1)
              #6 SUGAR TREAT (ML=3/1)
              #7 XENON (ML=8/1)
              #8 SPICY GUACAMOLE (ML=5/1)

SPIRIT OF VICTORY - After the race aboard this horse on April 27th, the jockey is going to be acquainted with the filly much better. It looks like the race should set up for a closer. This filly's running style fits the bill nicely. I like that last race on April 27th at Gulfstream Park where she ran third. A repeat of that most recent effort on Apr 27th where she garnered a speed rating of 75 looks good enough to triumph in this race. This horse has increased her speed ratings from a fig of 68 to 72 to 75 in a row. SUGAR TREAT - This filly has been trying different distances, but from the looks of things, she ran a nice fig last try at this trip. XENON - Young had been running this filly at higher levels recently. Did win a non-classified race race though, on Jan 19th. Could do it again here. Gil is right back for another event today after getting on board this animal for the first ride on May 11th and ought to know the ropes to this one a little better. Have to make this filly a strong challenger; she comes off a strong outing on May 11th. I think this filly is very fit right now. I like the fact that Young brings her back to a race so quickly. SPICY GUACAMOLE - This filly is rounding her way back into shape. Should race well today. May have to bet on this magnificent animal in this race. She has been claimed in each of her last two starts. Getting a weight break of 10 lbs from last race at Gulfstream Park on May 3rd. This could make a difference right here.

              Vulnerable Contenders: #1 PEGGYSUE I LOVE U (ML=5/2), #2 STARSHIP VOYAGER (ML=7/2),

PEGGYSUE I LOVE U - This filly has already been defeated as the chalk back to back. Hard to give her another chance. STARSHIP VOYAGER - This entrant ran her best speed fig in awhile. May bounce and run poorly off that struggle.
STRAIGHT WAGERS: #3 SPIRIT OF VICTORY is going to be the play if we are getting 6/1 or better

                Woodbine - Race #2 - Post: 3:32pm - Claiming - 5.5 furlongs on the Dirt. Purse: $52,400 Class Rating: 86

                Rating:

                #1 FRAC RIGHT (ML=8/1)
                #6 MIDNIGHT TEMPESTA (ML=6/1)

FRAC RIGHT - Has run good races in the first or second starts back off of a layoff. When Fukumoto and Fairlie work together on equines the ROI has been great at +74. MIDNIGHT TEMPESTA - I like this horse. Should be familiar with this level since he ran against the same type in the last race at Penn National. Could be a possible overlay today at morning line odds of 6/1. Finished sixth in last race at Penn National but was close at the end. Chircop seems to have this gelding primed for a big effort. His workout pattern is outstanding. Carrying 6 pounds less this race. Trainer has him in a good spot. You have to like that latest race speed fig, 80, which is the top latest race speed fig of this group.

Vulnerable Contenders: #2 FRACEN MACHO (ML=9/5), #5 HE SHOOTS HE WINS (ML=2/1), #4 HANLAN (ML=4/1),

FRACEN MACHO - This probable favorite ran on Apr 27th and hasn't had a drill after that. HE SHOOTS HE WINS - On a downward sequence. Speed figures keep decreasing. This thoroughbred likes to finish in the money, but doesn't usually finish first. Don't put in the top spot. That was just not a very good exhibition in the last affair. Don't think this questionable contender will make a winning move today. That last speed rating was mediocre when compared with today's class rating. HANLAN - The fig last race out doesn't fit very well in this contest when I look at the Equibase class figure of today's contest. Mark this horse as a questionable contender.
STRAIGHT WAGERS: #1 FRAC RIGHT to win at post-time odds of 3/1 or better

                  # 1 ABUELA MIMA 5/1
CONSPIRACY MIND is my choice. Has decent early pace and will most likely fare strongly versus this group. Lately Velez has been on fire which may give the edge to this filly. Her earnings per start in dirt sprint events alone makes you take a look at her.
