    #2
    Brian W. Spencer's Daily Picks

Presque Isle Downs - Race #4
#6 Rock Tune Her form here last season was solid enough to think there might be a bit of upside while getting back over the local footing, and she may offer a midrange price despite the reliable form.
#8 Starship Radiance Wouldn't be a shock to see her land this one after the useful finishing debut. Not a whole lot of proven closing form here, so the fact that you know she can get past horses already is a plus.
#3 Wherever We Are No clue what to do here -- capable team sends her out on the hard drop after claiming her for $50,000 out of her Keeneland debut last fall, and you can do with that what you will. Could drill these, but factor all the different red flags into whatever price you're willing to take.
Race Summary Rock Tune has had some chances, but she was pretty sharp here last year and should find a really good trip tracking the pace from up close throughout.
Presque Isle Downs - Race #6
#4 Skippy Town He has gone evenly while being no threat through two starts, but he might be an OK fit locally with these, and his one-paced style might play well enough in a race with some outside pace.
#2 Mohtafil He's got some pretty decent finishing form and would benefit if the forward players hung out wide all hustled a bit for position while establishing an honest set of splits.
#6 Frozen Four He's out of excuses at this point, but his better form fits well enough here and would make him a late threat to land this.
Race Summary Skippy Town hasn't done a whole lot yet, but he'll get blinkers on today and could find himself in an OK spot while tucked in behind some iffy pace from the outside.
Presque Isle Downs - Race #7
#8 Braggart Joe Not sure if he's even good enough, but the price should be right to give him a look while going second off the layoff. His form came around when going long last year, so maybe that sprint comeback will set him up for his A-game today.
#9 Growth Capital Recent form says he's supposed to be tough here, but he's trying a new surface while stepping up at what might be a mild kind of price. Obviously capable on paper but....feels like a trap if the price is short.
#2 Uncle Truly He was competitive with some similar groups at Delaware and Tampa, but he doesn't always bring his best stuff, and the price may not reflect that risk.
Race Summary Braggart Joe needs better, but I wonder if he's set up for that after the sprint comeback. I liked how he moved forward going long here last season and think he could surprise today.

      Frank Carulli's Daily Picks

      Parx - Race #6
#6 JURADICIAL (7-2) Disappeared in latest but can’t be discounted, enters new barn.
#4 BEYOND A MILLION (6-5) Beaten fave in same spot at 1M, can control pace throughout as fave.
#3 R TENDERONI (6-1) Six-figure earner at distance hit the board twice in her last four starts.
Race Summary JURADICIAL ‘stopped abruptly’ when last seen five weeks ago, but she is eligible for this condition break by a week and fits well off her prior starts. She was claimed four times since November and changes riders again. Bet to win and place and play a 6-4-ALL trifecta.
      Parx - Race #1
#2 MATZOBALL MUHAMMET (7-2) Stayed after hustling winner but couldn’t get by for new barn.
#5 MIDNIGHT DREAMER (5-1) ‘Matzoball’’ stablemate rallied wide for third in debut, gets ideal set-up.
#1 SMOKEY PLACES (5-1) Speed and rail for red-hot barn, returns off claim as a gelding.
Race Summary MATSOBALL MUHAMMET drew even with the pace-setting winner in mid-stretch but settled for second at this distance in an improved try off the claim. She gets Sanchez and gets blinkers again for a 20-percent barn with maiden claimers. Bet to win and place and play a 2,5/1,2,5,6 exacta.
      Parx - Race #5
#3 FIFTY NINE FIFTY (4-1) Back with own kind, should work out ideal stalking trip in here.
#2 MAGGIE MISCHIEF (7-2) Carried speed to a win and a second with Lasix, gets class relief.
#7 CRUISING GAL (6-1) Broke maiden at 6F two back, steps up for 23-percent claim barn.
Race Summary FIFTY NINE FIFTY ran down the loose leader to break her maiden for $25,000 two starts back for her new connections. She was overmatched in allowance company last out but is well-spotted for a score today. Bet to win and place and play a 2-3-7 exacta box.

            # 2 CASTILLE 5/1
            # 8 SAM'S PROMISE 2/1
RIGHTANDJUST has a very strong shot to take this race. May best this group here, showing strong figs of late. The winning percentage shown by horses entered by Wilson running at this distance are the best in this field. Must be carefully examined given the class of races run lately. CASTILLE - Should be carefully examined - I like the numbers from the last affair. Will probably go to the front end and should never look back. SAM'S PROMISE - Shows evidence of the look of a lucrative play, averaging a solid 72 Equibase speed fig which is one of the best in this group. With a strong 80 speed rating last time out, will surely be a factor in this contest.

              Presque Isle Downs - Race #2 - Post: 3:57pm - Claiming - 5.5 furlongs on the Dirt. Purse: $19,000 Class Rating: 83

              Rating:

              #4 LOTHARIO (ML=5/1)

LOTHARIO - Lone speed horses can be tough to run down. Here's a lone speedball facing sluggish sorts today. Look for this gelding to show better today. Last affair at Laurel finishing 12th on the soft turf is no sign of his true talent.

              Vulnerable Contenders: #5 SHARON'S PRINCE (ML=5/2), #7 HARBOUR BRIDGE (ML=3/1), #3 OUTSIDER (ML=7/2),

SHARON'S PRINCE - Can't play this favorite off the long layoff. You always think this horse has a shot to be the victor, but he comes up short most every time. HARBOUR BRIDGE - This sustainer should have a rough go of it to get up in time with the lack of early speed in this race. OUTSIDER - Based on the pace scenario in this race, this animal doesn't fit in here. With a single front-runner and this equine having to race from behind, he sure has a tough assignment.
STRAIGHT WAGERS: #4 LOTHARIO to win at post-time odds of 1/1 or better

                Parx Racing - Race #1 - Post: 12:40pm - Maiden Claiming - 6.5 furlongs on the Dirt. Purse: $26,000 Class Rating: 74

                Rating:

                #2 MATZOBALL MUHAMMET (ML=7/2)
                #7 WARHEADED (ML=4/1)
                #1 SMOKEY PLACES (ML=5/1)

MATZOBALL MUHAMMET - Like the way this gelding's finish positions keep getting better. That's a sure sign of improving form. Horses that finish in the place spot in Maiden races and finish well clear of the show horse are generally good bets next time out. That last work tells me this gelding is set for a top race. You have to like that last race speed fig, 75, which is the best last race speed figure of this field. 58-62-75 are last three speed figs. Improving each time out is something he should do again right here. WARHEADED - Really believe this mount is going to be right there near the finish line. SMOKEY PLACES - When this jockey and trainer work together you have to take a look. Salgado and Rodriguez have been fantastic together. Finished fourth at Parx Racing last out. Was close at the end and at odds of 5/1 today, he looks like a possible contender.

Vulnerable Contenders: #6 WE MISS NEIL (ML=3/1), #5 MIDNIGHT DREAMER (ML=5/1), #3 AIRMAN TREVOR (ML=5/1),

WE MISS NEIL - I can't play this continual non-winner. Gets the job done from time to time. MIDNIGHT DREAMER - Bandages were added in the last race. Doesn't bode well for today's race. AIRMAN TREVOR - This horse likes to be in the money, but doesn't usually win. Don't put in the top spot.

GUEST COMMENTARY: The Brain - MATZOBALL MUHAMMET - After a layoff, has had a few races and today he enters a sprint race. Should be back in form, so I expect this one to perform well right here in this race.

STRAIGHT WAGERS: Bet on #2 MATZOBALL MUHAMMET to win if you can get at least 7/2 odds

                  # 3 CLOUD FOREST 9/2
                  # 4 ODE TO BALIUS 6/1
SIR MAXIMUS has a quite good shot to take this race. Ought to be given consideration as he drops to compete against this softer field of horses. Must be carefully examined given the class of races run lately. Looks decent for the conditions of this contest today, showing solid numbers in dirt route races recently. CLOUD FOREST - This gelding with Mendez in the irons makes him a definite contender. Could beat this group of horses given the 81 speed figure put up in his last outing. ODE TO BALIUS - Has performed solidly recently in route races, posting a nifty 71 avg Equibase speed fig. Likely to see a strong effort with the class drop.
