Total Under 9.0 (-108) M Perez (LHP), H Waldrep (RHP) Must Start |
| Analysis: 926 Chicago White Sox at Atlanta It's getaway day in Atlanta as both these teams look forward to a rare day off on Thursday. This has been a high scoring series with 21 and 22 runs scored the last two days. You can expect the pitching to even out here. Martin Perez, the left-handed team leader in pitching returns from a long IL stint. He faces Hurston Waldrep who has been terrific as of late for this injury prone Braves pitching staff. With both teams long out of the playoff race, this game should stay under the posted total. PLAY UNDER |

Milwaukee Brewers -112 J Misiorowski (RHP), C Rea (RHP) Must Start |
| Analysis: 905 Milwaukee at Chicago Cubs After winning the first game of this series, the Brewers dropped a double header yesterday in Chicago. But we really like how this pitching matchup sets up for the visitor. First of all Jacob Misiorowski takes the hill for the Brewers. On the season he owns a 3.89 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and an xERA of just 2.65. He faced the Cubs on July 28th, his final start before going on the IL. In that game he permitted two earned runs in four innings before taking a line drive off his body, which caused him to miss his next start. He had a 7 to 2 K-BB ratio, with a high .375 BABIP. He returned from the IL to get hammered in a short start in Cincinnati. But much of that can be attributed to a 1.000 BABIP. The Brewer bullpen enters in great shape because Aaron Ashby threw 50 pitches yesterday. That means Megill, Uribe, Koenig and Mears are all fresh and ready if needed. The Cubs counter with Colin Rea, with a 3.99 ERA, 4.75 xERA and 1.28 WHIP. He’s obviously due for regression based on those numbers, and his Statcast page agrees. His only above average attributes are a 79th percentile Walk Rate, and a 71st percentile Extension. He’s in the 20th percentile in each of the following categories. Barrel %, K%, Whiff %, xBA and xERA. As opposed to the Brewers bullpen, all but Ben Brown were used yesterday, and he threw 54 pitches three days ago, so he isn’t available tonight. In the last two weeks the Brewers own a 138 wRC+, second best in baseball. The Cubs? They have an 81 wRC+. Hotter bats, much better bullpen situation, along with a far superior starter. All point us to the Brewers. PLAY MILWAUKEE 5% Good to -130 |
