Let's get the racing week on the NYRA circuit off to a fast start. Here are a couple of main track plays Thursday.


Belmont at the Big A | Race 2 | 1:45 pm ET

#7 She's Complicated (3-1 morning line odds) has the best maiden win among this field of horses all looking for a second career score. She's got early speed, a top speed jockey in Kendrick Carmouche and the the Linda Rice barn came out swinging with 4 wins early in this new race meeting. Win bet #7.


Belmont at the Big A | Race 6 | 3:45 pm ET

#2 Bold Endeavor (7-2 morning line odds) is pefectly drawn with some inside pace as the rail runner is devoid of any early speed. Both jockey Manny Franco and trainer Ilkay Kanarmaci have exceptional stats the past 4 years when competing with cheaper claiming horses over this 1-1/8 miles endurance test at Aqueduct. Win bet #2.

BIJOU BABY - Is a key contender - given the 93 speed figure from her most recent race.

FAVORITE OUTLAW - This front-runner is cutting back in distance today. Should help his winning probability. Earnings per race entered is something that I feel can be a very important selection factor. This thoroughbred is ranked numero uno in this field. RUNHAPPY D'ORO - When this jock and conditioner combine forces you have to take a look. Wethey and Cappellucci have been fantastic together. A campaigner coming back this quickly after a good effort is a good omen. Wethey was aboard this gelding in the last race and was impressed enough to take the horse right back. Three consecutive improved speed ratings (60-78-91) make this horse a solid contender.

Vulnerable Contenders: #5 IMMELMANN (ML=5/2), #7 CASH FOLLOWS ME (ML=9/2), #2 ELUSIVE POWER (ML=5/1),

IMMELMANN - Don't believe this less than sharp equine will make an impact in today's event. That last speed rating was mediocre when compared with today's class figure. CASH FOLLOWS ME - This horse ran a mediocre speed rating last race out. He shouldn't run better and will probably lose in today's race running that rating. ELUSIVE POWER - This gelding hasn't been showing me anything in the last couple of races.

The average class rating of 63 makes this one tough to beat. Is worth looking at and may be a wager - strong Equibase Speed Figures (62 average) at today's distance and surface as of late. TEQUILA THERAPY - He has been racing strongly lately while recording strong speed figures. This racer is in the upper half of this group in earnings per start at the distance/surface. MOR TIGER PAW - Could beat this group given the 59 speed rating put up in his last outing. With a strong return on investment of +3 this handler has shown respectable results with entries running at this distance and surface.

ALWAYS TO THE END - Trainer Hanagan gave this filly a good stiff workout. Last one was 2nd fastest of the day. Last time around the track was at Charles Town in a race with an Equibase class figure of 63. Dropping a significant amount in class rating this time around puts her in a solid position in today's race. I think this filly is ready to run a good one. She's had enough outings since the vacation and should be fit. DANCING DAKOTAH - Last raced at Charles Town in a race with a class rating of 65. Dropping drastically in Equibase class figure this time out puts her in a solid position right here in this race. You probably want to toss that last race at Charles Town on a track listed as good where she finished outside the top 3. Should do well right here on a fast track. This filly gets a weight break of -7 pounds from last race. Could make the difference in this race.

Vulnerable Contenders: #1 TALBOT HEIRLOOM (ML=2/1), #9 MARMARA (ML=3/1), #4 EFFERVESCENT (ML=9/2),

TALBOT HEIRLOOM - If you keep selecting these kind of 'bridesmaid' types, you're going to be dissatisfied frequently. MARMARA - In any event of 7 furlongs, I like to wager on a contender that has been sharp in sprint contests of late. The deficiency of early speed in the last one, a route clash, is a bit disconcerting. EFFERVESCENT - Hasn't finished in the money in any sprint races lately. Not likely to see her doing it this time either. Didn't finish in the money on September 6th after the long layoff. Be doubtful of this thoroughbred this time around.

STRAIGHT WAGERS:	Putting our cash on #3 ALWAYS TO THE END to win. Have to have odds of at least 7/5 or better though
