          @Ford Field - Detroit
          Northern Illinois –3 over Ohio PINNACLE
          Frank Solich has made Ohio a MAC power in the conference's weaker East division, and this year's edition is a quality outfit with a multifaceted rushing attack, a playmaking go-to wideout and a league-leading 11 players named to the media's All-MAC squad. Against senior-laden Northern Illinois, though, it's not hard to see why the Bobcats are the underdogs. Ohio entered the season with the MAC's least experienced roster, and while sophomore quarterback Tyler Tettleton has had a fine rookie season, he doesn't quite stack up to his counterpart. Huskies triggerman Chandler Harnish is the MAC Player of the Year and probably the best player in school history. Harnish, who has thrown for 2,700 yards with a 23-4 ratio and is the nation's 14th-leading rusher to boot, leads an offense that sports 10 seniors in the starting lineup. The offensive line is by far the best in the MAC, which is trouble for an otherwise solid Ohio defense whose weak spot is its front four. The Bobcats' offense will move the chains, but the defense, especially with injured team leader and star Noah Keller at less than 100 percent, won't be able to slow a balanced, explosive Northern Illinois attack that will be able to move the line of scrimmage in this game. Each team has been to two league title games since the MAC began divisional play, and each has lost both times. This NIU team is largely the same group that blew it as big favorites last year, and they'll redeem themselves here against an Ohio program that has never won a postseason game. Play: Northern Illinois –3 (Risking 2.16 units to win 2).

          OREGON –31 over UCLA PINNACLE
          We can't get that fired up about laying nearly five touchdowns in a title bout with a Ducks team that almost can't help but be overconfident, but the awkward chase just to get here has run UCLA out of gas -- and its coach out of a job. The Bruins will probably show up to play hard, but they can't be counted on to keep playing hard once the game is out of reach, and the likelihood of a frontdoor cover makes the visitors unbackable at any price. Play: Oregon –31 (No bets).

            NCAAB FREE PICK: Nevada +4.5

            The public is jumping all over Washington, but I question whether the Huskies should even be favored. Washington had a real solid team in 2010, but they lost their three best players. They have opened the season 4-1, but all four wins have came against easy competition. In their only road game this year, they lost 64-77 at Saint Louis.

            Nevada was blown out by 30-points at Washington a season ago. When you lose that bad it can really bother some players. Luckily for the Wolf Pack, all five starters return this year. Knowing that Washington has taken a step back, I expect Nevada to not only cover the spread, but win this game outright!

            Nevada is 5-2 ATS in their last 7 non-conference games, while Washington is just 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games as a road favorite and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games following a SU win of more than 20 points. BET THE WOLF PACK +4.5!

              Scott Spreitzer's free pick

              I'm backing the Red Wings in Friday NHL action. The Buffalo Sabres are a game below .500 on home ice and now welcome in the red-hot Red Wings who have won 6 in a row and 10 of their last 12. Detroit has been outstanding at the blue line and between the pipes, allowing a grand total of just 11 goals over their last half-dozen games. And only Boston has out-shot the Wings in their last 4 outings. Detroit out-shot the other 3 teams by a 102-64 margin! I expect the win streak to extend to 7 straight games against a battered and bruised Sabre team. Not only is Buffalo a walking...or should I say skating MASH unit, but Detroit has won 17 of the last 21 with the Sabres. And when Detroit turns it on, they usually keep it on for a while. The Red Wings enter on a 10-2 run off a win by 2 goals or more. I'm laying the short money line price with Detroit on Friday. Good luck - Scott Spreitzer.

              Play on: Detroit Red Wings

                    Matt Fargo's free pick

                    We lost with Columbus last night no thanks to Calgary blowing a late two-goal lead and eventually losing in a shootout. The Blue Jackets are actually playing pretty well right now as they are 4-2-1 over their last seven games but they still have only two wins on the season on the road and you have to go back all the way to January of last season for the last time they won consecutive road games. Overall, Columbus is 1-10 in its last 11 games following a win.

                    Edmonton is hardly playing good right now but this could be the perfect opponent to get things rolling again. The Oilers opened November with a road win over the Kings to improve to 8-2-2 to begin the season but they are just 4-8-1 since then however they are still within striking distance of the playoff picture even though it is still early. They have struggled on the road but at home Edmonton is 7-3-2 and this is just the fifth home games over its last 15 games so that certainly explains some of the issues.

                    Columbus was shutout in the power play once again last night and it is now at 4.3 percent over its last five games. Edmonton possesses one of the better penalty kills in the league and it has an 85.2 percent penalty kill at home while the Blue Jackets 11.3 percent power play percentage on the road is fifth worst in the NHL. The Oilers have gotten some strong efforts from goalie Nikolai Khabibulin after a rough couple games in November and overall his 1.88 GAA is fourth best in the league.

                    The Blue Jackets have not fared well after a high scoring affair as they are 9-40 in their last 49 road games coming off a game where both teams scored three or more goals while going 1-5 in their last six games playing with no rest. Edmonton meanwhile is 43-27 in its last 70 games following a one goal divisional loss. The home team has won the last five meetings in this series and based on recent results, we will see that streak continue with a comfortable Oilers victory on Friday. 3* (10) Edmonton Oilers
