Miami is a very good football team, but much like last week when we cashed our best bet SU with Alabama, this is a game where you want the points in your pocket. Not only is this one of the best rivalries in college football, but you can add in the spot of Florida State in bounce back mode after their double overtime loss to Virginia on Friday night. That loss was in motion from the start, as turnovers, penalties, and bad decisions allowed the Cavaliers to take an early lead and gain confidence. It also puts FSU in a position where they’re playing for their season as a 2 loss team from the ACC may not make the CFP. That makes this game essentially a “must win” and we did see some positives in the loss. Tommy Castellanos’ dual threat capability was on full display and the defense had some nice takeaways. The offense was as balanced as it gets, rushing and passing for 258 yards each for a total of 516. Let’s not forget that Florida State has a big time win over Alabama on their resume, proving they can play with and beat the nation’s elite. For as good as Miami has looked, going to Tallahassee while laying points is asking a lot, especially with a quarterback in Carson Beck that we know makes mistakes. This has one possession game written all over it, and we can expect a strong response from the Seminoles in the live home dog role. Take Florida State.
