Jeremy Plonk: Mountaineer Tuesday Bet $100, Get $20 Best Bets

    November 11, 2025 | By Jeremy Plonk

November’s Cornucopia of Cash continues with Tuesday night racing from Mountaineer. Bet $100 on the card, get $10 with 1/ST BET and Xpressbet. I dug into the Betmix database to track some stats play for the Mountain this evening. Be sure to register for the promo when logged into your account.

    Mountaineer: Race 2

#7 Sensible Gordy (12-1 morning line odds) may have benefitted from a wet track in breaking his maiden last out, but note trainer Marlon Cuttino has been first or second with 7 of his last 13 starters at Mountaineer (4 wins) and that’s since this one’s graduation. Win-place bet and Daily Double 7-4 to next play.

    Mountaineer: Race 3

#4 Zealous Storm (5-2 morning line odds) represents a Jami Poole barn that’s been wildly improved since the start of October (27% wins, $2.11 ROI for every $1 bet from 33 starters). Exceptionally consistent for this class level with 9 exacta finishes to open his career. Win play and consider an exacta with Pool’s longer-priced #1 Dembe Zuma who gets blinkers on.

    Mountaineer: Race 8

#1 Rabble (9-2 morning line odds) should fit very well here after a Horseshoe Indianapolis mid-flight effort. Horses off that circuit at Mountaineer in recent weeks are 9: 3-2-1. Nabbing redhot rider Deshawn Parker benefits on the cutback in distance to the sprint ranks. Win bet.

      Brian W. Spencer's Daily Picks

      Mahoning Valley - Race #1
#6 Spectacular Tango Get a look at her ahead of this one, but I don't think she's meeting a whole lot other than the one drawn a stall inside of her. Capable right out of the box.
#5 Country Promises She's supposed to win this one on paper, but that was also the case when she came up short at 10 cents on the dollar last time out, so I'd tread lightly, even if she might win this by a dozen.
#1 In Too Deep She went evenly in a small field while never really getting involved, but she can probably move forward here, and someone has to finish third.
Race Summary Spectacular Tango is a fresh face landing a spot with what appears to be one horse to beat on paper. Check her out on the track, but I'll start this one off by thinking she has the edge on Country Promises.
      Mahoning Valley - Race #3
#7 Game Performer He hasn't stayed with much enthusiasm late in his races so far, but he might be in line for a really nice prompting trip from out here, and his form looks a lot better if you forgive the route run.
#3 Top Frost He was no match for an easy winner in a short group last out, but that race seems to give him something to build on here at second asking.
#1 Distant Galaxy Nothing from him through two starts in Indiana, but those came with better groups, so there may be a class element that allows him to wake up a bit today.
Race Summary Game Performer should get a pretty nice run of things, and I'm hoping he can reverse form while getting back around one turn.
      Mahoning Valley - Race #8
#5 Moody River Wondering if the price starts to teeter on unappealing? That said, there is a lot of untrustworthy form in here, she hasn't done anything wrong through two starts -- scoring easily last out after catching a runaway winner at first asking. Might be enough to win back.
#3 Elopedatthederby Some room for a bounce-back run today while cutting back around one turn, but she was kind of flat late last out at 6/5 and probably takes some cash again today.
#2 Cowgirltakemeaway The dirt form is pretty honest, and that alone makes her a player in here. Think she could show up with her typical rallying effort and get past these.
Race Summary Not really sold on much in here, but Moody River has shown enough through two races to think she's one of the ones here if she has another move forward in her in this third lifetime start.

        #4
        Frank Carulli's Daily Picks

        Turf Paradise - Race #3
#3 RES IPSA LOQUITUR (7-2) Blazed a new trail in 5-1/2F win out of town for 21-percent ‘repeat’ barn.
#4 SHARP ATTITUDE (3-1) Failed at odds-on three times since April, takes on boys, passing gear helps.
#5 BIYOMBO (6-5) Kept good company, can join $100k Club in second start off re-claim.
Race Summary RES IPSA LOQUITUR gets the nod in a deep five-horse optional claiming race for Arizona breds. The lightly-raced 6-year-old came back running off a year layoff and survived a duel through a blazing :43.4 half mile to win in his second start back at Grants Pass. Bet to win and place and play 3-4 and 3-5 exactas.
        Turf Paradise - Race #5
#6 RIGHT HAND RYDER (4-1) Won twice since claim, perfectly spotted to do it again, turf the question.
#2 HARD LOVE (9-2) Disappointed on ‘good’ turf but can’t be discounted off prior running lines.
#1 THREEBROTHERS (3-1) Won in lone try in the same spot, stands 5-for-11 on the lawn.
Race Summary RIGHT HAND RYDER rallied for back-to-back photo-finish victories going a route of ground on the Emerald Downs dirt recently. He defeated next-out winners in both races, the latest in ‘open’ company. He is unproven on turf but so are most of his rivals today. Bet to win and place and play a 6-ALL exacta.
        Turf Paradise - Race #7
#5 LITTLE BIT TIPSY (9-2) Met 1-to-5 winner two back, emerged as one of three next-out winners.
#2 TROUBLE N PARADISE (3-1) Ran 1-2 in 8 of last 12 sprints, can use her speed well in this spot.
#4 DANSMETOTHENDOFLOV (4-1) Rallied for second in 3 of last 4 sprints out of town.
Race Summary LITTLE BIT TIPSY became the third winner to exit a $15,000 sprint at Canterbury Park when she earned her top speed figure in a 7F victory. She runs for the cheapest claiming price of her career and get the call for a win and place bet and 2-4-5 exacta box.

              RECOMMENDED CHOICES

              # 4 WINNING BIG 9/2
              # 6 KIRBY DERBY 10/1
MISS LUCKY LADY should be supported as the wager in here and is a strong value bet given the line at 30/1. WINNING BIG - Has quite good Equibase Speed Figures and has to be considered for a wager in this contest. He looks competitive in this spot and I expect will be on the lead or close at the midpoint. KIRBY DERBY - Don't let this gelding slip past you. Could win at a big price. Is worth careful consideration and may be a wager - strong Equibase Speed Figs (82 average) at today's distance and surface recently.

FOR MAIDENS, TWO YEARS OLD. WEIGHT, 120 LBS. IF THIS RACE IS TAKEN OFF THE TURF, IT WILL BE RUN AT 5 FURLONGS ON THE MAIN TRACK.
                RECOMMENDED CHOICES
                # 11 PUT ME IN COACH 12/1
                # 5 SIERRA POWER 15/1
                # 1 CUP OF COFFEE 5/1
PUT ME IN COACH gets the edge as the wager in here especially at a such a nice price. Is a strong contender based on figs earned lately under today's conditions. The average class rating of 50 makes this one hard to beat. SIERRA POWER - Will likely be one of the leaders of the bunch going into the midpoint of the race. One of the top win percentages between this jockey and trainer make this colt dangerous. CUP OF COFFEE - Is a contender - given the 57 speed figure from her most recent race.

                  Parx Racing - Race #8 - Post: 3:14pm - SO - 6.5 furlongs on the Dirt. Purse: $30,000 Class Rating: 90

                  Rating:

                  #2 SNAPPY RIDE (ML=6/1)
                  #4 MISS EASY (ML=5/1)

SNAPPY RIDE - Martinez was aboard this mare last time out and was impressed enough to take the animal right back. This rider and conditioner have a profitable ROI when they combine forces. 66-69-90 are last three Equibase speed figures. Improving each time out is something she should do again in this race. This mare should be at the fitness peak, this far into her form cycle. MISS EASY - This horse coming off a sharp try in the last month is a contender in my book. This mare is rounding her way back into shape. Should perform well today.

Vulnerable Contenders: #5 OUR UPTOWN GIRL (ML=7/2), #7 PEARLS AND HEELS (ML=4/1), #3 SWEET LAURA (ML=9/2),

PEARLS AND HEELS - Registered a mediocre speed figure last out in a $25,000 Claiming race on Sep 29th. Not probable to see an improved performance off of that figure. SWEET LAURA - Doubtful that this horse will finish better than she did last time out when placing third.
STRAIGHT WAGERS: #2 SNAPPY RIDE is going to be the play if we are getting 3/2 or better

                    Mountaineer Park - Race #1 - Post: 7:00pm - Maiden Claiming - 8.0 furlongs on the Dirt. Purse: $9,000 Class Rating: 65

                    Rating:

                    #4 SOUPER JUSTIFIED (ML=7/2)
                    #3 IJAMSVILLE (ML=3/1)

SOUPER JUSTIFIED - I'm looking forward to this beautiful animal to run a big one this time around. IJAMSVILLE - While the finish was disappointing, this fine animal made a good stretch move last time out at Mountaineer Park. Expect better in this race. That 68 fig this gelding recorded in his last race tells me he's a chief player this time. Trying to break maiden moving from a race on the turf to the main track. I think Smith will have him conditioned well for today's race.

                    Vulnerable Contenders: #5 MUSTAZEED (ML=8/5), #2 K J HIGH COUNTRY (ML=4/1), #7 KING PLUTUS (ML=6/1),

MUSTAZEED - In the last race this less than sharp equine finished sixth. Doesn't look good for his chances in today's event. Speed figures tell a tale of dropping form. K J HIGH COUNTRY - Would have to get more than the morning line odds of 4/1 to play this horse. KING PLUTUS - Didn't land in the top three on September 10th at Delaware Park. Followed it up with another lackluster outing.

GUEST COMMENTARY: Hal - IJAMSVILLE - Last two races this gelding has shown a steady increase in his speed numbers. This horse is a top contender against these ponies today.

STRAIGHT WAGERS: Put your money on #4 SOUPER JUSTIFIED on the nose if you can get odds of 7/5 or more
