Montreal dropped another game in shootout on Thursday, which was their 6th lost in 7 games. Their lone win came in Los Angeles a week ago, but they have managed to get a single point in 4 of their losses. On the season the Habs are just 11-11-7, but are a decent 7-6-1 on the road. New Jersey has won two straight after losing their previous four, with their latest a 5-4 come from behind shootout win against Ottawa on Thursday. The Devils are 14-12-1 on the season and 6-4-1 at home. New Jersey has been tough to beat at home dating back to the end of last season, going 22-9 in their last 31 home games. New Jersey is 4-1 in their last 5 games as a home favorite and 5-1 in their last 6 vs a team with a winning % less than .400. Note that the Canadiens are just 1-7 in their last 8 games as an underdog. New Jersey has had the Canadiens number going 36-13-3 in their last 52 head-to-head meetings, and the Devils are 19-5-2 in their last 26 meetings in New Jersey. Montreal hasn’t been playing very good hockey lately, and I think the Devils can take advantage of that at home. Play the Devils as small home favs.Comment
