Mahoning Valley - Race #7

#6 Mighty Les	Lots of horses in here with similarly tactical route running styles, and this guy has a little bit of pace that might be enough to send him to the front while stretching out. Mile should be in his scope.
#4 Charleston	Like the way he stretched out last time around to spy and finish, and he could be in line for another similar kind of run today. Looks dangerous again.
#2 Brick Ambush	He has shown some route speed that should put him right up top with the pick, but I'm hoping that guy will prove just a touch faster early?
Race Summary	Mighty Les and Brick Ambush figure to be front and center early while a handful more stack up just behind them, and I think 'Les is going to offer a playable price here.

Mahoning Valley - Race #8

#2 Mystical Mobil	She's not the likeliest winner by any stretch, but there are a couple of OK finishing efforts on her page that might play well if all of the pace shows in here. A clunk-along finisher could provide an upset.
#5 Country Promises	Her form has been pretty honest, and she ran well in that stakes spot a couple starts back, so it'd be no surprise to see her win right back. Her mild rating gear is a big plus in a spot with some decent speed near the outside.
#1 Running Ash	Have loved her first two scores, but think she's going to take the worst of it while stuck on the fence with her pace. Talent is there.
Race Summary	Think Country Promises is going to be tough here -- she's tactical enough to avoid getting caught up in a tough early hustle if all the pace stays in. That said, the price is probably fairly short there, and Mystical Mobil has a couple of OK finishing sprint tries on her page that could play at a nice number.

Mahoning Valley - Race #9

#1 Sheltowees Rocket	He outran the 19/1 price in the debut here earlier this month, and I'm going to take that one at face value in a spot that lacks much imposing form on paper. Any reasonable upside makes him tough.
#8 Chasing Orion	Toss the last and the form doesn't look all that bad, and the price figures to be fair again today. Wouldn't be a surprise -- probably belongs on the plays.
#9 Shallowbrook	He has a length or so to turn on the top choice from their meeting last time out, but he's another who brings some room to improve with just the one lifetime start to his name.
Race Summary	Solid debut run from Sheltowees Rocket, and I think any move forward off that run -- whether from experience or adding blinkers today -- makes him a handful here.

Hernandez has an excellent ROI over the past month (+200) which ought to help players with this pick. SARAH'S VISION - He has been running solidly lately while recording sharp speed figures. That race had a class number of 91 and she is moving down right here. A certain serious competitor. Have to watch for this animal on the grass. Last race at Turf Paradise, scored a big turf number. Have to think she can do it again right here.

ROYAL DUSTY - I have some doubts when a vulnerable equine has bandages added in the last event. Awfully tough to invest in any racer that just won a Maiden Claimer, then steps up to face winners. PINK CHANNEL - This mare raced well above average on Dec 3rd finishing third, but hasn't even visited the track since then. Not really a good sign. Can't make a habit of betting on horses that rarely win. STRIKING NOTES - The addition of bandages in the last race is usually a sign of declining form. This filly garnered a speed rating in her last affair which probably isn't good enough in today's race.

SHELTOWEES ROCKET - Aragon is up for another event today after riding on board this horse for the 1st ride on December 8th and ought to know the ropes to this one a little better. Taking a trip down in class; has the class ability to make his presence felt. Lone speed horses can be tough to run down. Here's a lone speed freak facing sluggish sorts today. I'll bet that this colt even surprised his connections when he made his initial start on Dec 8th and finished second. Colt will add blinkers to the equipment package today. That often leads to an improved performance. This colt's last figure notched on December 8th is tops in last race speed ratings. I really like that last race on December 8th at Mahoning Valley Race Cour where he ended up second.

DRAGON HUNTER - This racer will most likely be pulling up the rear as this bunch crosses the finish line. LEGAL JARGON - I prognosticate a setback for this horse in this event.
