Mahoning Valley - Race #4

#2 Dremscomtrubcseofu	She had some trouble at the start and never get involved after that in the debut at Mountaineer, but she has some pedigree to her and might have enough upside around two turns to make some noise here.
#3 Nachthexen	Forward player should get a good run of things in a race without a ton of early pace, and she already stayed OK going long in her debut. The one to beat.
#6 Gamay	She didn't show a whole lot on the turf earlier this year to open her career, but she finds a pretty modest spot for the dirt debut while trying the local company for the first time. Could wake up a bit.
Race Summary	Dremscomtrubcseofu didn't show a whole lot at first asking, but there are a couple reasons to think we could see better here, and I'm guessing the price will remain appealing enough.

Mahoning Valley - Race #6

#1 Counting on Clyde	He gave way after prompting early in the debut, but I think he could stick around better with that run under his belt, especially if a cleaner break puts him up top early.
#4 Mr. Riffle	He has shown a little bit of versatility, but he should find an OK spot right up near the top in this one and might get an OK first-run attack at the top choice.
#3 Wisley	He's another who has shown the ability to run through a couple different styles already, but it's easy to see him finding a perfect spying trip while watching the top two settle any early scores.
Race Summary	Counting on Clyde showed a little speed and faded when making his first start, but I'm hoping a bit better break will lead to a committed trip on the engine.

Mahoning Valley - Race #10

#9 Fatih	He has some proving to do on class today, but his last two have been pretty sharp, and he could be in the right spot off the turn to see if he can outkick them from there. Riser at the right time?
#8 Bohemian Style	He's dangerous here -- his baseline run keeps him in the mix, and he has had some success through multiple running styles. Thinking his ability to relax and finish will be key. Could roll these.
#4 Reckless L J	He tends to be pretty one-paced late in his races, but he also doesn't quit, so he makes some sense to plug along and stay for another share today after racing in range throughout.
Race Summary	Fatih has some midrange price appeal with some tracking ability, and it appears there are enough forward/chasing types lined up to make his potential spying trip the winning one.

Race Summary	PAN PAN tracked the pace under similar conditions at Aqueduct but was out-kicked by the stakes-placed winning favorite and the runner-up who came back and ‘inched clear’ to victory on the turf. She makes her first start for Joseph off a three-month rest and gets the nod for a win and place bet. Also play 10-2, 10-7 and 10-11 exactas.

Gulfstream Park - Race #2

#1 EXPERT WITNESS	Ran second twice at this level off 17-month layoff, the latest chasing a slow pace.
#2 FINAL PAYMENT	Took shorter route, finished a length behind ‘Expert’ in his last start, lures Irad.
#4 MAGIC RED	Has speed, has done the least wrong, has fastest-of-71 work since last start.
Race Summary	EXPERT WITNESS, plagued by slow starts, gained inside on the turn, bumped with a rival twice in the stretch and couldn’t reach the pace-setting favorite. He could sit a perfect stalking trip from the rail with a clean break and will have every chance for a breakthrough win in a field that is a combined 65/0-3-2. Bet to win and place and play 1-2 and 1-4 exactas.

Gulfstream Park - Race #6

#1 DOGWOOD CROSSING	Hitting best stride to cap 3-year-old season, projects ideal stalking trip.

DANZA MAGIC - You probably want to toss out that last event at Mahoning Valley Race Cour in the mud where she finished off the board. Should do well right here in this race with the benefit of a fast track.

Vulnerable Contenders: #1 BOX STEP (ML=9/5), #5 SPOOKY LITTLE GIRL (ML=5/2), #6 EXTRA CRAFTY (ML=7/2),

BOX STEP - The speed rating last out doesn't fit very well in this event when I look at the class rating of today's race. Mark this animal as a vulnerable contender. SPOOKY LITTLE GIRL - This less than sharp equine has been a disappointment to the horseplayers as the favorite time and time again. I cannot play this repeated non-winner. Gets the task fulfilled infrequently. EXTRA CRAFTY - Difficult to play any pony in a short distance race if she hasn't hit the board in a sprint in the last couple of months. I'd like to see more preferred recent efforts with M/L odds of 7/2.

I've got to go with HOLA HERMOSA especially at such a decent 8/1. This equine has some longshot handicapping angles going for her. She should have a strong outing versus this easier lot. Could beat this group given the 52 speed figure posted in her last outing. AWESOME ELISSA - She must be given a shot given the very good speed figures. Camacho should be able to get this filly to break out quickly in this contest. KUKU - Will almost certainly come out strong - I have liked the way this filly has moved swiftly to the lead recently. Had one of the best Equibase Speed Figures of this group in her last contest.

VENENCIA (FR) - I know she'll be way back, but she's got a great kick turning for home. Running 1 3/8 miles on the turf, you've have to look at horse's turf figures. This one has the tops in the bunch. ALLURING ANGEL (GB) - I expect a lot from this beautiful animal. Her speed ratings under similar conditions are tops in this group. LA MEHANA (FR) - Although I sometimes have doubts about a thoroughbred who was a beaten favorite in her last race, this mare got a solid rating and fits well here. There's only one animal who has won on this turf course, and this is the one. This horse has shown the class ability to win on different ovals. Making the move from Belmont at the Big A for today's event, I have to believe she's ready to run. I like the fact that this mare's last speed rating, 107, is tops in this group. When I handicap a turf race, I think sometimes class ratings are more important than speed figs. This fine animal has the highest average class in the entire field.

My pick in this race is MALIBU WARRIOR. He has been running solidly and the Speed Figures are among the most respectable in this group. Has been running admirably in races of this distance, going 3 out of 10 under similar conditions. With a quite good 90 speed figure last time out, will definitely be a factor in this race. NOTTURNO - Could best this group based on the speed rating - 81 - of his last outing. NOBLE GENTLEMAN- Has the appearance of a profitable play. With a nice class fig average of 90, has one of the strongest class advantages in this group of animals.
