Jeremy Plonk: Parx Hit & Split Late Pick 4 Analysis | Tuesday, December 30, 2025

Tuesday’s Parx racing card includes a trio of stakes races and a 1 Million 1/ST Rewards Points Hit & Split promotion when you play with 1/ST BET and Xpressbet. First post is set for 12:05 pm ET, while the late pick 4 begins with Race 7 at 2:47 pm ET and includes 2 of the stakes. Let’s get to work.

Race 7: optional claiming

#1 I Feelucky Tonite has fit beautifully at this starter allowance condition with a 6: 2-3-1 mark in such races since May and seems to fire regardless of price – beyond a trip to the Claiming Crown. #8 Guaponess likely goes favored off a claim-and-score by high-percentage trainer Jamie Ness. The distance and post pose some risk, but this barn hard to dismiss and a bullet workout is in tow. #5 Kissthemoon fits the conditions perfectly and has transferred his Penn National form to Laurel in the past, which should translate here if he takes to the Parx surface. The post does him no favors, but veteran #10 Dreaming of Gerry should be finishing among the best here and the 5-pound weight break to hot-riding apprentice Yedsit Hazlewood could help the cause.

Race 8: $75,000 Parx Future Stars Stakes

Trainer Butch Reid holds the cards and wildcards in this 2-year-old sprint. He’s entered #1 Mailata, #2 Tough Guy Tony and #3 Connor’s Crew (the latter scratched, along with #s 4,5,6). Mailata has won on fast and wet tracks and clearly the horse to beat if he runs here and not in Saturday’s Jerome, where he’s cross-entered at Aqueduct. Solidly in this one’s camp for a 33% local jockey-trainer combo and past form.

Race 9: $75,000 Parx Future Stars Fillies Stakes

#1 Divine Intentions provides rail speed and a wire threat so long as she breaks cleanly for Tyler Servis and regular rider Frankie Pennington. #7 Tap Into Grace will attract a lot of money for Maryland dominator Brittany Russell, but this filly has been her worst enemy at the start of several races. Top local pilot Mychel Sanchez has the one to beat if he rights the ship.

Race 10: claiming

The morning line favorites look vulnerable as #2 Romantic Gamble and #5 Lord Winsalots have holes in their resumes. The former hasn’t been able to translate his form past his Penn National homebase with regular success, while the latter has been eased and a well-beaten fourth in 2 starts since being claimed. Both go for high-percentage trainers capable of getting the results the betting public is drawn to, but at this cheap class level, invite some chaos to your ticket. Toss them and part-wheel the other 9.

Mahoning Valley - Race #7

#1 Bootsy's Merlot	Price probably isn't going to be much here, but she has some dangerous pace from the inside in a race without a ton of serious early burn, and the recent form is far too sharp. Holding form makes her the one.
#6 Haut Les Coeurs	Her form is darkened a bit by a few flat sprint tries on her page, and getting back around two turns should work in her favor today. Seems like a logical alternative.
#3 Little Miss Munny	She's probably capable of something better here while getting back around two turns, but I'm not sold on the local form just yet.
Race Summary	Bootsy's Merlot has made short work of a couple local groups in those last few starts, and she should be in line for another great trip while right up top throughout.

Mahoning Valley - Race #8

#6 Star Ella	She has been relatively consistent throughout her career minus the flat two-back run, but she rebounded from that with the graduation score last out and might find an OK trip from out here at a decent price.
#3 Tiz China	She can be tough here for a dangerous team, but she has been just a touch one-paced late in most of her lifetime starts and could be vulnerable to getting picked up in the lane. Capable from close range.
#8 Unchained Spirit	She posted a sharp debut score here last month and would be dangerous with any move forward off that. Think she's interesting to watch, but the price will be more fun up top.
Race Summary	Star Ella took some time and burned some money while finding the right group to graduate with, and she might get a really nice spying trip today at an OK price.

Mahoning Valley - Race #9

#3 Little Shance	He's back fresh today, and the only local try was pretty sharp, so I wonder if he might be ready to fire a sharp one off the break while racing near the top in a race without a ton of committed pace.
#1 Deterrent	He's probably supposed to drill these on class while coming out of those tougher Laurel spots, but I don't love the recent form overall and will hope one of these can get the best of him.
#7 He's My Boy	The level has been a bit tough for him in the past, but he's worth another look for maybe a share while rising again in pretty good form.
Race Summary	Little Shance goes off the break with a little bit of speed, and that should keep him in a perfect spot up top to try to turn away the Laurel invader.

Race Summary	MISS EMILY averaged a 40 Beyer in her last three starts on the main track, the latest while trying to rally in a slow-paced long sprint against two rivals. She got beat 1-3/4 lengths by the same horse who defeated morning-line favorite ELLIE MOORE at this level. Bet to win and place and play 7-2 and 7-3 exactas.

Delta Downs - Race #2

#7 MISS ROSIE (3-1)	Broke out, rallied wide into slow pace, couldn’t reach $100k earner.
#3 EAST SHORE (8-5)	Towers over field on paper, idle six months, recent works encouraging.

THE SHOE LADY seems to be the bet in here. The extreme drop in class can only help this one today. Earning some nice money in dirt route events. With better than average trips to the winner's circle, Batista will probably have this filly in excellent position to win the race. MALICED - Reason to like this mare as she has in the saddle one of the best jocks using winning percentages over the last month. Could best this group of horses based on the speed figure - 65 - of her last race. BIG SIS NIC - Should definitely be given a shot in this competition if only for the very good Equibase Speed Figure garnered in the last race. She has been running solidly lately while recording very solid Equibase Speed Figures.

THE BOSS SOSS looks very good to best this field and the potential return justifies the hazardous nature of the long odds. Overall the speed figs of this equine look strong in this contest. Don't overlook this gelding in your propositions - very dangerous with Perez aboard. This gelding has to be given consideration just off the earnings per start in dirt sprint contests alone. CAJUN AMI - Have to suppose this horse will do well again today. The speed figure of 85 from his latest race looks respectable in here. RANCH WATER - Since this animal changes blinkers - on - there is a solid chance for a speed improvement in today's contest. Has to be given a chance based on the formidable Equibase Speed Fig garnered in the last race.

YOUBETTERBEJOKING - This gelding is in superb form right now. Ended up second last out and comes back rapidly. You have to like that most recent race speed fig, 91, which is the top most recent race speed fig of this bunch. GAMETIME GLADIATOR - Gonzalez was aboard this gelding last out and was impressed enough to take the horse right back. The jock and conditioner combination have a lucrative return on investment when they partner up. AHSAD - When this rider and handler are put together you have to take a look. Pennington and Kirby have been fabulous together. UNCLE IRISH - This fine animal should be thundering down the lane. HE'S GOT SWAGGER - He keeps getting closer at the finish with each and every start. He must like the track here. He just won over the track after shipping in. I like to play this handicapping angle, a pony coming back off a solid contest within the last 30 days.

ADMIRAL'S WAVE - No value on this one at the likely odds of 5/2. MAJESTIC CREED - If she hasn't found the winning disposition by now, it will be tough for her to get it today. Awfully tough to play this vulnerable equine when she hasn't been showing any signs of readiness lately.

GUEST COMMENTARY: Winston - HE'S GOT SWAGGER - Playing the top earnings per start thoroughbred is an angle which won't steer you wrong in the long run. I'm betting on this one.
