Mahoning Valley - Race #6

#5 See Ya Alligator	Speed stopped hard in the debut run, but he might be able to sustain his pace a bit better with that first start under his belt if he can find the front today with a bit less of a battle.
#8 Wild Domain	He's pretty honest, and he brings competitive form, but I'm a bit worried that he might be better going long right now and tends to give away a bit of ground late. Capable, but tough to trust.
#4 Kettle Coalmine	Not totally sold here, either, as the good sprint form came with cheaper, but he is another who should find a good spot right up on the splits today.
Race Summary	See Ya Alligator should be an OK price here while going second out off the fading debut run, and I'm hoping that pace will keep him up top today and give him a bit of bravery if he doesn't take a bunch of early challenges.

Mahoning Valley - Race #8

#3 Fracture	He should be right up on the splits again after a nice graduation run from close range last time out, and I'm hoping he'll bring something a bit better in the second start back off the layoff.
#5 Gallant Groom	He looked impressive in the debut run when sweeping past that group and rolling away, but the waters get deeper today in a spot that feels decent for the level.
#8 Globetrotting	He woke up a bit in the last one, and he fits well here if you take that at face value and hope he can bring something similar in his second start over the course.
Race Summary	Fracture owns a couple of good sprint tries sandwiched around that flat route run, and there might be a touch of upside today in the second start back.

Mahoning Valley - Race #9

#8 Praise N Glory	Her form is inconsistent, but there is some decent finishing form on the page that would potentially keep her in the frame with this open group. Some appeal.
#10 The Devil's Dream	Like that she tends to run her race and bring that typical effort, and she draws well to spy the speed from out here today. One of the ones.
#7 Asian Matriarch	You have to go back to this time last year to find some sprint form, but it's fairly compelling compared to the rest of this group. Recent form fits off the claim, so she seems like one of the ones.
Race Summary	Praise N Glory looks like a potential late price threat here, but she'll need a few things to go her way and for all the potential pace to show up. Demand a price -- we should get it.

Race Summary	TURN ON TWISS took serious money but clearly needed her debut race. She broke poorly, gathered momentum on the turn and ran willingly in the 5-path until the final furlong. She picks up 6 pounds with a new rider but she gets Lasix and remains live at an inflated price. Bet to win and place and play 10-6 and 10-8 exactas.

#1 SPOONBILL (6-1)	Has speed and can make good use of it from the rail in this field.
#4 SOMEMUNNY TO LOVE (2-1)	Hit board at three distances in as many MSW starts, the latest in route.

Race Summary	SPOONBILL ‘moved well clear’ in the stretch but got caught by the favorite in a near miss first out, but she back-pedaled in a slower MSW sprint that followed. The price goes up and the daughter of 2016 Pennsylvania Derby winner Connect could take catching from the rail with first-time Lasix. Bet to win and place and play 1-4 and 1-6 exactas.

Put up a respectable speed rating last time out. MDA MS BEAUTY QUEEN - She has earned competitive figs under today's conditions and will almost certainly fare well against this group. Don't let this filly slip past you. Could prove victorious at a big price.

RUN SMART - That last effort must not have been too hard on this gelding for him to be able to race again so quickly. I predict a perfect trip. Stalk the early speed, and rally on the turn. I like this horse. Should be familiar with this class level since he ran against the same type last out at Turf Paradise. Gelding took a little vacation, but has been racing into shape. SMILE DONT WINK - Rider jumped on this gelding's back for the first time on Jan 1st. Should be in touch with the animal even better this time. Sprinters that come back to the races quickly are generally good plays. That 67 fig this gelding recorded in his last affair tells me he's a key player today. 27-51-67 are last 3 Equibase speed figures. Improving each time out is something he should do again in this event.

Vulnerable Contenders: #6 BARKLEY'S IMAGE (ML=3/1), #1 HUGH GLASS (ML=4/1), #5 TRYDENT (ML=5/1),

BARKLEY'S IMAGE - This gelding hasn't had any recent good fortune in sprint races. I find it hard to bet on him in this event. Should be difficult for this thoroughbred to beat this field off of that last speed rating. Not probable to improve enough to run a figure close to today's Equibase class figure, so put him on the vulnerable contenders list. HUGH GLASS - Doubtful for this one to do much running with no success lately in a short distance event. Doubtful that the speed figure he notched on December 22nd will be enough in this race.

YOU'RE THE ONE - Has very strong Speed Figures and has to be considered for a wager in here. Always seems to be close up at the finishing post. MARY Q - Win percentage one of the best in this group. Could beat this group of animals given the 88 speed figure recorded in her last outing.

VESPER MARTINI - I think this filly is very sharp right now. I like the fact that Fadlovich brings her back to a race so quickly. This filly should run better today now that she's back facing here own gender. Jockey jumped on this filly's back for the first try on January 2nd. Should be acquainted with the equine even better today. Forgive the outside the top 3 finish on the off track in the last race. On a non-sloppy track, has a fair chance in this event. MON MINOU - Salazarbecerra comes to ride after getting to know the filly in the last affair. Always watch out for the longer priced horse when a trainer has an 'uncoupled' entry in a race. TOTAL SMOKESHOW - Last time out, finished eighth on an off track at Mahoning Valley Race Cour. I'd expect a better race in this race.

Vulnerable Contenders: #3 DEVOUTLY (ML=5/2), #2 DENIABLE (ML=3/1), #9 DIANNA'S LADY (ML=8/1),

DEVOUTLY - This favorite ran on December 20th and hasn't had a workout since then. Acquired her best speed figure in the last race, but the track conditions may have played a major role in the outcome. DENIABLE - In the last event this steed finished seventh. Doesn't look good for her chances this time around. No accomplishments for this less than sharp equine in a short distance event over the last two months tells me that this mare is in a formidable situation Recent deteriorating speed ratings of 66/57/21 give a clue that this animal may be going off form. Somewhat easily forgotten speed figure in the last race at Mahoning Valley Race Cour at 6 furlongs. Don't feel this horse will improve too much in today's event. DIANNA'S LADY - This animal hasn't had even a morning drill after running so well on December 20th. When examining today's class rating, she will have to record a better fig than in the last race to compete in this dirt sprint.

Really keen on the chance of SIR JOHN B taking down the winner's share for this race. Don't toss out of any exotics. Is a huge win contender given the 85 speed fig from his most recent race. STAY COOL HANOVER - The group noted a sharp affair out of this standardbred last time. Hoping for a repeat effort of that to score. Drawing the 4 post at this track has lead to a much better than average win statistic. DENIAL - Chances are greatly improved for entrants coming from the 5 post at Dover Downs.

Looks like a strong contender in this field of starters and her above average winning percentage says she has the determination to win this time. Sowers has been able to get this entrant to perform when in the sulky. Definite exotic possibilities. WISH I HAD THYME - Feel the need for speed, this entrant has been turning in some top notch TrackMaster Speed Ratings averaging around 82. Should be given a look based on the great TrackMaster Speed Rating recorded in the last race. DON'T CHIP ME - This horse and Aldrich have an excellent working relationship. In the money figure for this combination is high.
