GUS CAUSE - When a sprinter is back in a race less than 10 days after his last outing, it generally means he's fit. The 54 latest race speed fig looks mighty good in the TrackMaster PPs.

MAJOR ORTIZ - Awfully difficult to wager on this steed when he hasn't been showing any signs of readiness lately. This gelding recorded a speed fig in his last race which probably isn't good enough in today's race. ONE DEAL - This colt hasn't had any in the money efforts in sprint events in the last sixty days. OKLAHOMA FLAME - 6/1 is too short of a value to take on most any thoroughbred that has run poorly in back to back outings. Registered a most unsatisfactory fig last time around the track in a $10,000 Maiden Claiming race on January 16th. Not probable to see an improved performance off of that fig.

GUEST COMMENTARY: The Brain - GUS CAUSE - Performance last out was solid, even though it was only good for the place spot. Was well clear of the show horse. My take on the data says only a slight improvement is needed today to move up one and into the winner's circle.

This colt looks very good for this event since Carrillo has a strong winning percentage with horses going this distance.

Put up a reliable Equibase Speed Figure in the most recent race. Can run another good one in this race. PRESTIGE FUNGSON - Conditioner boasts very strong win figs at this distance and surface. The average Equibase class rating of 88 makes this one tough to beat.

SALLY'S SUPRISE - I find it hard to play any thoroughbred in a sprint event at 3/1 when she hasn't shown any positive results in sprints in the last 60 days. Hasn't been getting close at all recently. Doubtful that the speed rating she earned on January 10th will hold up in this event. GOLD PLUS - Finished first in her most recent race with a pedestrian rating. When I look at today's class figure, it would take an improved performance to score after that in this field. MISS MAXIMUS - Improbable that the speed rating she registered on Jan 1st will be good enough in this affair.
