OTTINHO is my choice. Seems to have a respectable class edge based on the recent company kept. Has been racing solidly and has among the most favorable speed in the race for today's distance. With better than average trips to the winner's circle, Lezcano will most likely have this colt in excellent position to win the contest. FOURTH AND ONE - Rodriguez has been on fire the last month, winning at a nifty 24 percent clip. He looks quite good in this spot and I expect will be on the front end or close at the halfway point. SCHOOLYARDSUPERMAN - Trainer boasts solid win figures at this distance and surface. Has strong front-end speed and ought to fare admirably versus this group.

CONN SMYTHE (GB) - This gelding should get a 'dream' trip in this spot. He looks like the only 'stalker' in this affair. The rider/trainer duo of Gutierrez and Tharrenos has a strong return on investment together. LOMAX - The rider and conditioner combination here have a high win percent when they team up. This animal is for real on the turf. TrackMaster turf rating in last race at Gulfstream Park was tops in this group. Personally, I wouldn't worry about where he finished in his last race (fourth). Should improve in this event, with some respectable odds.

Vulnerable Contenders: #3 ASTIN STYLE (ML=5/2), #1 SKI BUM (ML=3/1), #5 MAKE ME FAMOUS (ML=7/2),

ASTIN STYLE - Can't really bet on this kind of oft beaten chalk. Won't be easy for this racer to beat this field off of that last fig. Improbable to improve enough to run a figure close to today's class figure, so put him on the likely underpriced contenders list. SKI BUM - Notched a mediocre speed fig in the last race in a $17,500 Maiden Claiming race on Jan 15th. Doubtful to see an improved performance off of that fig. MAKE ME FAMOUS - In the last race this questionable contender finished fifth. Doesn't bode well for his chances this time. Could be tough for this animal to beat this field off of that last speed fig. Not probable to improve enough to run a figure anywhere near today's class figure, so put him on the likely underpriced contenders list.

Difficult to wager on him in this event. TREE OF DEM - 5/1 is not priced right for any horse in a sprint of 7 furlongs that hasn't finished in the money in a short distance race recently. Difficult to put your dough on the win end of any horse that finishes second and third as often as this horse does. Once you've got at least ten races at the venue and still have no wins, its tough to break through for a victory.

The panel of smart guys keenly points out that when Crone trains this solid standardbred, the odds of finishing hitting the board go way up. ENOLA - This race could very well be controlled by this mare. A single look at the avgerage speed rating will prove that. The brain trust gives this race horse a great chance to come home a winner, class stats are tops in the grouping. CALL OPTION - Could very well be the best in the race here, showing really strong ratings of late. Average speed is a solid 87. A very good class horse cannot be passed over. With an average class ranking of 87 all signs look good for this one.
