Mahoning Valley - Race #6

#1 Dr Spirito	Not sure the price is going to be all that appealing, but he comes out of a decent race and should get involved early again from the fence with his pace.
#5 Rascal Flash	He can show speed and press/prompt/attack the rail runner throughout, but the price gets a lot shorter today, and you have to hope he'll hold form off the big turnaround last out.
#4 Shallowbrook	He's not meeting a field with a ton of depth today and wasn't that far off the top pair when they met in that common spot in December. Chance.
Race Summary	Think Dr. Spirito is going to be tough in here with decent pace from the fence and perhaps still some upside after just the two lifetime starts.

Mahoning Valley - Race #9

#2 Carnival Rock	He has been solid outside of that one try in stakes company, and he should find himself in a pretty nice spying spot again today. Dangerous if he handles the local footing.
#3 Pupil	He's got some dangerous pace in a race with a decent bit of tracking speed, but that means there is at least some chance he breaks hard and turns away a few challenges on his way wiring this crew.
#6 Big Prankster	He might be in the right spot to get the first-over run while right on Pupil throughout -- tough to trust late, but think he's in the right kind of spot turning for home.
Race Summary	Carnival Rock should find a perfect spy-and-finish trip waiting for him in here, and there may still be something better from him in just the fourth career start while getting Lasix for the first time.

Mahoning Valley - Race #10

#6 Kettle Coalmine	I was really disappointed in his run last time out, but that leaves plenty of room for improvement in a bounce-back try today. Expecting better.
#5 Wild Domain	He's short on excuses at this point and came up short yet again last out at 70 cents on the dollar -- your call entirely. He can win this, just make sure you price in the risks at what probably won't be a very appealing number on the board again.
#1 Silver B B	Debuter is at least a fresh face in a confusing race. Check him out on the tote and track ahead of this.
Race Summary	Kettle Coalmine has room for better today after a very dull run last time out. The two- and three-back runs stack up well in a race where I'm not sure there is anyone you're supposed to be afraid of.

The move to a lower class level should suit her well. Don't throw this horse out due to her last affair at Mahoning Valley Race Cour where she finished seventh in the slop. I look for an improvement today. The addition of the 'hood' should keep her mind on business today. GEEGEE'S STORY - This filly's last race was better than looked. She showed good early zip, dropped back a bit but held even through to the finish. This horse ran off the board at Mahoning Valley Race Cour in the last race on a track listed as good. She should improve in this event without the slop. Already ran against today's M/L favorite on January 15th at Mahoning Valley Race Cour and finished ahead of that one. Have to believe she can do it again right here. HERE KITTY KITTY - Finished ahead of today's favorite last out at Mahoning Valley Race Cour. Can do the same again in this race. That 69 fig this mare earned in her last event tells me she's a big time player in today's event. This mare is in good physical condition. Finished second on January 15th.

My choice in this race is K R RULES and is a very good value-based bet given the 10/1 line. As of late Montalvo has been sizzling which may give the edge to this gelding. He has been running very well lately while recording strong Equibase Speed Figs. Players should probably take a good look at this one as this gelding has one of the best win percentages at this distance in this group. PLEASEUSETHEPORTAL - Recorded a strong speed fig in the most recent race. Can run another good one in this contest. WITHOUT EQUAL - Is a solid contender - given the 86 speed figure from his most recent race.

More wins than normal have been recorded by race horses lining up behind the 4 post at Northfield Park. CHICAGO HALL - He's going to post in fine form, recording sharp TrackMaster Speed Ratings. An excellent contender. Been battling with some tougher customers of late, has a distinct class edge. (Average Rating 75). VANELLOPE - When the trainer Roegner puts Sugg up for the drive very nice things happen. All you need to do is look at the 28 win percent.
