        # 4 BEMBRIDGE LEDGE 7/2
        # 6 ACHERON 4/1
        # 2 AMERICAN POPSTAR 3/1
BEMBRIDGE LEDGE looks to be the wager in here. She has been running solidly and the speed figs are among the best in this group of animals. Win percentage under similar conditions may be the key for this filly. With Saez uptop her, this filly will probably be able to break out quickly in this event. ACHERON - Overall, this conditioner has been profitable at this distance/surface. AMERICAN POPSTAR - Could best this group of horses here, showing decent figs of late. This filly must be given a shot just off the earnings per start in turf route events alone.

          # 7 JAYHAWK 7/2
          # 1 CORTA FUEGO 9/2
          # 8 BORDER WAR 4/1
My pick in this race is JAYHAWK. May see a reversal of fortune with blinkers going off in this contest. This gelding has a very good win percent in turf route races. Could beat this group given the 97 Equibase Speed Figure earned in his last outing. CORTA FUEGO - Displays solid Equibase speed figs on average overall when matched with the rest of this group. Ortiz has a win percentage of 22 over the last month. BORDER WAR - Respectable pick to take this race going in a turf route. He ought to be given a chance given the strong speed figs.

            Laurel - Race #7 - Post: 3:02pm - Maiden Special - 5.5 furlongs on the Dirt. Purse: $47,000 Class Rating: 83

            Rating:

            #4 BALTIC (ML=9/2)

BALTIC - I really like that this horse shows a gate work since the last race and is getting blinks on today. Always a good angle to play. The rider and trainer combination have a lucrative return on investment when they team up.

            Vulnerable Contenders: #1 MOMENTUM FILES (ML=4/5), #6 BRIGHTSHININGLIGHT (ML=4/1), #5 MY MILITARY HERO (ML=5/1),

MOMENTUM FILES - No picnic to wager on any animal in a short distance affair at 4/5 when he hasn't shown any on the board results in sprints in the last sixty days. I usually try to beat these types of low-odds horses off the extended layoff. BRIGHTSHININGLIGHT - This gelding hasn't had any recent success in sprint affairs. I find it hard to play him in this event. MY MILITARY HERO - You always believe this horse has a shot to cross the finish line in first, but he comes up short regularly.

GUEST COMMENTARY: Winston - BALTIC - The trainer puts the 'hood' on. This beautiful animal should improve today with the equipment change.

STRAIGHT WAGERS: #4 BALTIC is going to be the play if we are getting 1/1 or better
            EXACTA WAGERS: None
            TRIFECTA WAGERS: Skip

              Fonner Park - Race #7 - Post: 4:12pm - Maiden Special - 6.0 furlongs on the Dirt. Purse: $15,400 Class Rating: 42

              Rating:

              #6 P R MORE WHISKEY (ML=8/1)

P R MORE WHISKEY - Don't often see a profitable ROI like +185. This rider/trainer duo has done well together over the last twelve months. Gelding had the second fastest workout of the day prepping for this. Jockey jumped on this gelding's back for the first try on March 1st. Should 'know' the horse even better this time around.

              Vulnerable Contenders: #3 L R SUPERSTAR (ML=3/1), #7 DOUG'S VISION (ML=7/2), #9 SANDHILL MO (ML=4/1),

L R SUPERSTAR - This pony ran a run-of-the-mill speed fig in the last race. He shouldn't show signs of improvement and will probably suffer defeat in today's race running that number. DOUG'S VISION - The speed rating last out doesn't fit very well in this affair when I look at the Equibase class figure of today's race. Mark this entrant as a possibly overvalued equine. SANDHILL MO - Morning line odds of 4/1 make this thoroughbred a pass by my criteria.

GUEST COMMENTARY: The Brain - P R MORE WHISKEY - Back in my statistics class, I did a study of how important lone pace is and the pct of winners that demonstrated this profile. The percent was very high and this campaigner shows the potential for lone pace.

STRAIGHT WAGERS: Go with #6 P R MORE WHISKEY on top if we're getting at least 1/1 odds
