        Parx Racing - Race #4 - Post: 2:01pm - Claiming - 7.0 furlongs on the Dirt. Purse: $23,000 Class Rating: 70

        Rating:

        #5 FLAMING EYES (ML=5/1)

FLAMING EYES - This filly is in top condition right now. Ran first last time around the track and comes back soon. This filly should be at the peak of fitness, this far into her form cycle.

        Vulnerable Contenders: #2 ZEENA SWIFT (ML=8/5), #6 WEST SIDE DIVA (ML=3/1), #1 MELODY'S KISS (ML=4/1),

ZEENA SWIFT - This mare hasn't had any positive outcomes in sprint contests in the last 60 days. Hasn't raced or had any works since December 29th. Not much value on this chalk horse. WEST SIDE DIVA - This less than sharp equine didn't do too much last time finishing third. Can't expect improvement in today's event. When examining today's class rating, she will have to garner a better speed figure than in the last race to vie in this dirt sprint. MELODY'S KISS - A rallier like this one needs a speed battle to set things up and she isn't likely to get one this time out.
STRAIGHT WAGERS: Go with #5 FLAMING EYES on top if we're getting at least 1/1 odds

          Race 5 - Allowance - 6.0f on the Dirt. Purse: $21000 Class Rating: 91

FOR FILLIES AND MARES THREE YEARS OLD AND UPWARD WHICH HAVE NOT WON TWO RACES ONCE OTHER THAN MAIDEN, CLAIMING, STARTER, OR TRIAL SINCE OCTOBER 7, 2025 OR WHICH HAVE NEVER WON THREE RACES OTHER THAN MAIDEN, CLAIMING, STARTER, STATE BRED , OR TRIAL OR WHICH HAVE NEVER WON FOUR RACES. THREE YEAR OLDS, 120 LBS.; OLDER, 126 LBS. NON-WINNERS OF A RACE SINCE MARCH 7 ALLOWED 2 LBS.
          RECOMMENDED CHOICES
          # 4 BLESSED ANGEL 7/2
          # 3 IMA MARGARITA GIRL 4/1
          # 5 AUDITORY 8/1
BLESSED ANGEL is the strongest bet in this race. She ought to be given a shot given the quite good speed numbers. Ought to compete soundly in the early pace battle which bodes well with this group. Should keep the good string of finishes intact this time around. IMA MARGARITA GIRL - Conditioner boasts strong win figs at this distance and surface. With Americano aboard her, this filly will probably be able to break out quickly for this race. AUDITORY - Is a very solid contender based on figures earned recently under today's conditions. Has a very strong record at the distance and surface, which makes me like this mare.

            Will Rogers Downs - Race #4 - Post: 2:41pm - Claiming - 8.0 furlongs on the Dirt. Purse: $13,000 Class Rating: 74

            Rating:

            #4 INNER FURY (IRE) (ML=6/1)
            #6 CAMS HOTROD (ML=5/1)

INNER FURY (IRE) - Trainer Buehrer gave this filly a good stiff morning drill. Last one was 2nd fastest of the day. Always beware the longer priced horse when a trainer has an 'uncoupled' entry in a race. CAMS HOTROD - This thoroughbred could be tough in today's contest, especially since Cabrera rode in the last race and now should be acquainted with this one. Mare's finish positions keep getting better with each race. Maybe today's the day. Using this jockey/trainer combination is a good decision. PP lines show this pony with 3 improving speed figs. Cabrera should be on a live horse right here. This mare is in fine form. Finished first on March 16th.

Vulnerable Contenders: #3 GRAND PRAIRIE GAL (ML=3/5), #5 GRACE GIVEN (ML=4/1),

GRAND PRAIRIE GAL - You should normally gamble against low-odds horses that haven't raced or show no activity in the morning over the last 3 weeks. GRACE GIVEN - Would have to improve off that third place finish last time out to make an impact here.
STRAIGHT WAGERS: #4 INNER FURY (IRE) to win at post-time odds of 3/2 or better
            EXACTA WAGERS: Box [4,6]

Race 2 - Maiden Claiming - 6.0f on the Dirt. Purse: $12200 Class Rating: 46

FOR MAIDENS, FILLIES AND MARES THREE, FOUR, FIVE, AND SIX YEARS OLD. THREE YEAR OLDS, 118 LBS.; OLDER, 126 LBS. CLAIMING PRICE $7,500.
              RECOMMENDED CHOICES
              # 6 PRINCESS AZARA 6/5
              # 5 HERO QUEEN 4/1
              # 2 SHAUNNASAPRILFOOL 8/1
PRINCESS AZARA is my choice. This field of horses is much less demanding than the last one she ran against. The rapid return to the track points to a reliable effort today. This filly is a definite contender based on her earnings per start in dirt sprint events. HERO QUEEN - Look for a sound attempt with the class drop.

Scott Shapiro: Keeneland Late Pick 4 Hit & Split

                April 7, 2026 | By Scott Shapiro

April is here and so is the Keeneland spring meet. The boutique meeting in the Lexington area began with two of their biggest days of the year and now kicks in to the 5-day schedule we are accustomed to. To celebrate a meeting that horseplayers clearly love, we have a new promotion involving the late Pick 4 that will run five times through Wednesday, April 22. Head to the promotional landing page to register, then simply connect on the late Pick 4 for any of the eligible racing days, and share 2 Million 1/ST Rewards Points with other customers able to do similar. Here are my thoughts on Wednesday's late Pick 4.

Grade Descriptions: Grade A=Highest degree of confidence; Grade B=Solid Play. Grade C=Least preferred or pass; Grade X=probable winner but likely at odds too short to play.

                Race 5:
                Grade: B-
Main Ticket: 1 Andthewinneris; 5 Integration
                Backups: None

Forecast: The sequence kicks off with a $150k allowance event at two-turns over the sod where it appears the pace should be honest at the very least. This bodes well for the class of the field #5 Integration. The son of Quality Road drops out of Grade 1 company for the first time since 2024 off the layoff for Shug McGaughey. He has been a horse I have faded in those races regularly, but obviously will be a tough customer in this spot if he is ready to fire off the 6-month break. He is the likeliest winner, but probably will be an underlay. #1 Andthewinneris is the better bet at their ML offerings. The son of Oscar Performance made his first start off a lengthy break at Turfway Park in late February. I like that he shook off the rust prior to this spot and returns to a turf course he has run well over throughout his career. He is likely to be in the back early, but is capable of running them all down late with the right setup.

                Race 6:
                Grade: B-
Main Ticket: 6 Flash of Freedom; 3 Shestallthatsall
                Backups: 5 East Bay

Forecast: I will try to beat the two ML favorites in this MSW for 3YO fillies at 1 1/16-miles over the main track. I am most intrigued by longshot #6 Flash of Freedom. Trainer Matthew Sims has solid numbers in most applicable categories, including horses returning off 90+ day breaks. The Kentucky based conditioner has given this daughter of Constitution time after a pair of races going one-turn last fall. The female family points to this gal getting better as the distances get longer, so hopefully her first two-turn journey leads to a career best effort. The price should be right to gamble. #3 Shestallthatsall is more obvious, but should move forward off a decent debut at big odds for Ian Wilkes. Wilkes legs up Brian Hernandez, Jr. in her first start in the Blue Grass state.

                Race 7:
                Grade: B-
                Main Ticket: 2 Icona; 4 J N J Heartandsoul; 1 Love You Anyway
                Backups: None

Forecast: The pace should be quick in this first-level allowance at 1 1/16-miles over the grass given the presence of California shipper #6 Miss Kitty Boom. The Maclean’s Music filly has been prominent in sprints out west and now stretches out to a route of ground for the first time. With others that enjoy being involved early, the race is likely to set up for a runner that can settle, save ground, and finish. #1 Love You Anyway is obvious and will probably get first run, but a pair of others should get favorable inside voyages from off the pace as well. #2 Icona did not have things her way in her first start in the States, but got a great ride from Tyler Gaffalione to break her maiden last out. She does not finish like a world beater, but projects to get the exact trip I want. #4 J N J Heartandsoul is a bomb I will include. The daughter of Heart to Heart showed a solid turn of foot in her last two starts over the grass in 2025 and attracts Julien Leparoux. Leparoux and trainer Thomas Molloy have won 4 of the 5 times they have worked together and she very well could be making the final move at huge odds.

                Race 8:
                Grade: C+
Main Ticket: 1 General Graham; 8 Sharons Beach; 9 Kid Twist; 11 Perfect Attitude; 4 High Go
                Backups: None

Forecast: I was impressed with #1 General Graham’s win relatively speaking, but not enough to trust him in this starter allowance at 7-furlongs. The Eddie Kenneally trainee is my lukewarm top choice in the finale, but as you can see. I do not trust anyone, including ML favorite #8 Sharons Beach. The So Cal import showed some grit last time to win, but was all out at odds of 3-10. #9 Kid Twist and #11 Perfect Attitude are the prices I give the best chance to spring the upset. If this race is to produce a price, it is probably going to be because they went too fast early. Both of these colts have the right running style to perhaps take advantage of that scenario.

Jeremy Plonk: Bet $100, Get $10 Indy Picks for Tuesday

                  April 6, 2026 | By Jeremy Plonk

The “Blooming Bankrolls” promotion this April at 1/ST BET and Xpressbet offers a $10 bonus when you bet $100 or more at select tracks each Tuesday and Thursday. Opening day at Horseshoe Indianapolis will be the track spotlighted for this Tuesday. Here’s how I’ll approach that card with the help of the Betmix Angler database.

                  Horseshoe Indianapolis: Race 3

#1 Unbridled Intent (12-1 morning line odds) got blasted in 2 stakes last year but is back where she belongs, class-wise, and can be effective at this level. Adds Lasix, draws the rail and note jockey Luis Contreras was strong early in the Indy meet last year in these 5-1/2 furlong dashes, winning 4 of 14 (29%) in April-May. Trainer Robert Gotham 23% adding Lasix, 22% off long layoffs. Worth price look. Win-place bet #1.

                  Horseshoe Indianapolis: Race 5

#6 Appeazing (6-1 morning line odds) showed excellent speed in her career debut last September before throwing on the brakes. She returns with Lasix for trainer Aaron West, who was a sharp 7-for-14 in the exacta to open this meeting last April and can get them ready to fire fresh. Win-place bet #6. Exacta box 6-11-5.

                  Horseshoe Indianapolis: Race 9

#8 Watch for Estela (9-2 morning line odds) goes for a Tony Cunningham barn that won with 2 of its first 3 starters last year at Horseshoe Indy, including a $23.80 upsetter. This filly’s best career start was her debut last May at the head of the form cycle and may come back with her best shot right off the bench. Win-place bet #8.

                    Brian W. Spencer's Daily Picks

                    Mahoning Valley - Race #4
#2 Dremscomtrubcseofu She has to turn the tables on the next two after a very flat run last time out, but I think she's capable of better and the two-back run might keep her in the picture at a price.
#1 Clearly Inish She's the one to beat in what feels like a pretty mild spot, but she's had a handful of legit chances already, including a few against softer, so I'm not all that inclined to trust her. Might roll, but she can do it without me.
#3 Betty Who Tough to trust her, but her better stuff keeps her in the frame for at least a share, and a couple misfires might leave her right on the line. In the mix.
Race Summary Logical players could land this, but I'm not sure who you're supposed to trust with any conviction, so I'll look for a bounce-back run from Dremscomtrubcseofu at what should be an attractive price.
                    Mahoning Valley - Race #6
#2 Stepnoski I've fallen for his trap before, but I think he's going to be in a great spot right up on the splits from the start, and he should be able to grind it out from there.
#1 Kitco Not quite sure what to do here as he turns back for his first lifetime sprint run, but he flashed a little turf route pace in the last one that could keep him in a decent enough tracking spot. Maybe some fresh pace keeps him in the hunt?
#3 Enzito He might get a similar trip to the top choice while racing in touch throughout, but he's not really known for punching home with any authority, and I think that one will outkick him all else being equal.
Race Summary #4 Union Swag isn't the worst look if you think this cheap crew is going to lack any finishing punch, but I think Stepnoski should be able to handle these at a modest offering on the board after putting away the other forward players.
                    Mahoning Valley - Race #8
#4 Sunset Town His form has tailed off a bit throughout the season, but that route pace may fit OK while turning back in a spot without a whole of committed sprint speed. Maybe that last one was a sign of life?
#3 Smokin' Hot His recent form makes him one of the ones, and he has the positional pace to sit a perfect kind of first-over trip with these. Think the better stuff would do.
#5 John's Rock He goes off the claim with some recent running lines that might make him tough, but I worry he's going to take some cash that suggests he's significantly better than some of the others. Capable, but I won't bite at any kind of short price.
Race Summary Sunset Town has some appeal while hoping the last one hinted at getting back to his better form. His route speed might play well at this shorter trip in a spot where the other main players seem happy to press.

                      Turf Paradise - Race #5
#4 BLESSED ANGEL (7-2) Ultra consistent sprinter can make maximum use of her speed in this spot.
#6 JERSEY SUNSET (8-1) Validated 35-1 upset with third-place rally in ‘double key’ race.
#3 IMA MARGARITA GIRL (4-1) Blocked with run in same spot, ran third, can join $100k Club.
Race Summary BLESSED ANGEL set a fast pace, drifted on the stretch lead and ran second after 11 months away. She could be long gone on the front end in here for a high-percentage barn with second-off-the-layoff types. Bet to win and place and play 4-3 and 4-6 exactas.
                      Turf Paradise - Race #7
#2 VRONSKY FEINT (4-1) Steady check-getter projects ideal stalking trip at best distance.
#8 POKER ALICE (5-2) Changed tactics and ran down Vronsky Feint to win with new rider.
#5 FALL MOON (5-1) Came 4-wide, ‘paused’ briefly in mid-stretch, second start off the re-claim.
Race Summary VRONSKY FEINT, a proven miler on the Turf Paradise lawn, bid 5-wide to a stretch lead that held until the 1/8th pole. She gets class relief and can get the jump on the morning line favorites from a better post position. Bet to win and place and play a 2-5-8 exacta box.
                      Turf Paradise - Race #4
#6 ROAD RULES (4-1) New barn hot with routers, must avoid another pace battle in first start locally.
#2 WARREN’S CJ (5-1) Gets pace to rally into, use underneath in all gimmick wagers at decent price.
#1 ROWAN AUGUST (7-2) Awakened in his third start on dirt, late runner draws rail on class drop.
Race Summary ROAD RULES was hustled to the lead, hounded on the backstretch and finished out of the money in a higher-tagged maiden claimer at Santa Anita. The race winner recently won a $10,000/nw2 one-mile race at 7-1 odds. There’s speed on both sides of him today, but perhaps stalking tactics could work in his third career start and first for a barn in the midst of a 15-for-58 run with route runners. Bet to win and place and play 6-1 and 6-2 exactas.
