(3) HOUSTON. The Astros are struggling and really need a victory. I expect them to right the ship this afternoon. Admittedly, Burrows' numbers aren't very impressive. He's got good stuff though and the Astros got him for a reason. Coming into this season, he was considered to be a breakout candidate. Houston really needs him today and I expect to see improvement. Burrows should get some support. Liberatore's numbers aren't good either and he's got a 7.20 ERA and 2.20 WHIP on the road, opposing batters hitting over .400. He's 6-15 with a 5.39 ERA for his career on the road. Astros bounce back. *Reduce to (2) if higher than -150

(5) ATHLETICS Given this matchup, I feel the price could be higher. Off yesterday's victory, the Athletics have the right guy on the mound. Through four starts, Springs is 3-0 with a dominant 1.46 ERA and a 0.77 WHIP. Importantly, given yesterday's game going into extra innings, he's also averaging slightly more than six innings per start. Opposing batters are hitting a mere .134 against him. On the other hand, Schultz has a 6.34 ERA and 1.62 WHIP, resulting from his first big league start. Last season, in the minors, Schultz was 4-5 with a 4.68 ERA and 1.67 WHIP. He may be better than those numbers suggest but I don't feel he's ready to go toe-to-toe vs. one of the hottest pitchers in the A.L. Look for Springs to get the better of Schultz and the Athletics to build off yesterday's 11-inning victory. *no play if higher than -165

(4%) ORLANDO (1ST HALF) The Magic have cranked up their defensive intensity in recent weeks and are off a dominant blowout of a good Charlotte team. They're playing their best basketball. I like that they've been playing this week while the Pistons have been off for a full week. Remember, Orlando was expected to be one of the top teams in the East this season, it just took a while before it got there. The Pistons have had a great season but they haven't won a a playoff series in nearly two decades. As the #1 seed, they're going to be feeling some pressure. The Magic come in confident. They beat the Pistons (at Orlando) earlier this month and they also won their last visit here to Detroit. In both cases, the Magic were winning at halftime. Overall, the teams split four meetings. However, a closer look shows that the Magic were ahead at halftime in three of those four games and that they were only down by one in the other. I expect them to come out strong. *good at 4% at +5 or better, reduce to 3% if 4 or 4.5
