DRESS REHEARSAL - Has discovered a good situation this time out. LA POPIS - I expect this fine animal to astonish some railbirds today. PRANCIPANTS - Looking at today's class figure, this thoroughbred is encountering an easier bunch than last out at Turf Paradise. Puentes has an 'uncoupled' entry here. Best to watch out for the longer priced half. This horse collects a lot of cash per race around the track. I believe she will boost that total in this field. SOLO UN BESO - Has run good races in the first or second starts back off of a layoff. The rider and trainer combination have a lucrative ROI when they team up. Just see her most recent speed fig, 77. That one fits well in this bunch.

Vulnerable Contenders: #2 C HER BEAUTY (ML=9/5), #5 SHADOWED THOUGHTS (ML=8/1),

C HER BEAUTY - Tough to keep following this kind of 'hanger' horse. April 13th is the last time we've seen this mare around. Have to be a little bit leery. SHADOWED THOUGHTS - Hard to put any cash on this mare on the win end. Likes to hit the board though. Unlikely for this horse to make a winning move with no recent success in a sprint race. Earned a somewhat easily forgotten speed rating last out in a $2,500 Claiming race on Aug 30th. Not likely to see an improved performance off of that figure.

RAVIN'S TOWN - I have to like this gelding's chances to win at the shorter trip. A racer coming back this soon after a good outing is a good sign. I like this gelding. Has the uppermost earnings per start (EPS) in this event. MITICO - I think the shorter trip will help this horse stay the distance. This thoroughbred coming off a nice try in the last 30 days is a serious competitor in my humble opinion. Three consecutive improved speed ratings (63-79-84) make this horse a solid contender.

Vulnerable Contenders: #3 PALLINO (ML=2/1), #2 STANDARD OF PROOF (ML=6/1),

PALLINO - This less than sharp equine has been letting down the bettors as the favorite time and time again. This morning-line favorite hasn't been to the track in awhile. No drills since last race. STANDARD OF PROOF - The Brain always tells me to stay away from thoroughbreds in short distance contests that haven't finished in the money in short distance affairs recently.

GUEST COMMENTARY: The Brain - MITICO - Racing pattern would suggest this thoroughbred is in good shape for today's race. I'd calculate a good performance.

CHARMING JENNIE - Is worth serious consideration and may be a wager - strong Equibase speed figs (55 average) at today's distance and surface recently. With a nice Equibase class figure average of 73, has one of the top class advantages in this field. ELSIE'S SMILE - Has ran soundly in dirt sprint races. Will almost certainly compete well in the pace contest which bodes well with this group.
