Spurs -9.5 over Timberwolves
All eyes are on the status of De’aaron Fox, who is questionable for this contest with an ankle injury. Fox participated in shootaround this afternoon, and I doubt he will miss tonight’s game after finishing game four. Victor Wembanyama returns after being kicked out of the last game early in the first half the other night, which allowed the Timberwolves to go on a run and keep themselves in striking distance in the fourth quarter to ultimately tie the series. Wembanyama is such a dominant figure and next to impossible to defend, not to mention his short blocking ability around the paint. The Timberwolves have a veteran team that has dealt with numerous injuries this season. Minnesota has shortened its bench and simply can’t afford another flare-up from any player. I don’t think their already-suspect defense can hold on for much longer. San Antonio should value the basketball during their offensive possessions and win on the glass. The spread in this game is high, but all it takes is one lopsided quarter, which we have seen so much in these playoffs. Look for Victor Wembanyama to redeem himself for his selfish acts the other night. Take the Spurs.

Rotation # 975-976
Marlins/Twins Over 9 runs
Perez/Ober
Miami starter Eury Perez is coming off a rough outing in which he lost control and put a lot of men on base for free via the walk. Twins starter Bailey Ober has struggled with his strikeout ability over the last few starts, and he is also coming off a rough outing of his own. Both pitchers are capable of giving up the longball, so we might see a lot of big hits tonight with 20mph wind gusts this evening at Target Field. It’s hard to trust the Minnesota bullpen to date, so Miami will always have a shot late in the game to score runs. The Twins are getting production at the plate outside the meat of their lineup, so they should get on the board early and often and put up a lot of runs if their power hitters have productive at-bats. Look for both teams to do enough to make it a higher-scoring contest. Take the Over.
