Yonkers Raceway has a 10-race card and the $1.00 Pick 5 with a $10,000 guaranteed pool goes in Race 5. The Spot Plays are in Race 1, Race 8, and Race 10. Comments and selections below are based on a fast track.

Race 1 (6:45 PM EDT)

Going to use a short price with a sharp hose who could be overlooked in an Exacta Box. The 4-Topville Somebeach-9/5 went gate to wire last time and will look to do the same leaving from post 4. Yannick Gingras gets the nod, and he will fire out in the 1st race for the Jared Bako barn. Jordan Stratton steers 4-Stellar Yankee (9/2). The Corey Stratton entry comes off a sharp score at Plainridge and does face easier than when last seen at Yonkers in May. Expecting lively fractions and Stratton could be stalking close to the leaders around the last turn.

Will use 4-Topville Somebeach (9/5) in an Exacta box with 6-Stellar Yankee (9/2).

Race 8 (9:05 PM EDT)

4-Mossdale Ben (9/5) looks the best and should be on the point around the opening turn. Gets a choice post and Jim Marohn could be in control from start to finish at a small price. Will play on top in Exactas with 3-Soho Firestone A (6-1) and
6-Captinhammerhead (3-1).

Using 4-Mossdale Ben on top in Exactas 4/3,6

Race 10 (9:45 PM EDT)

2-Black Hawk Joe A (6-1)-The rail horse is 8/5 in the morning line and will likely be bet down. Loses its regular pilot Brent Holland, has finished 2nd in the last 2 races, could be bet hard, and will fade. Looking for a solid price and this veteran gets a new set of hands in Scott Zeron. Sat in the pocket in last, stayed inside on the rail and could not get out but wouldn't have won. Tonight's chalk pinned Joe to the rail and then was edged out for show money. Now, Tyler Buter should protect the rail. So, will look for Zeron to get a pocket ride and then find a way to roll by down the lane at a nice price.

Will play #2-Black Hawk Joe to Win.

Presque Isle Downs - Race #3

#4 Whine Country	I liked his local debut a bit and think he might have room to come forward off that run with a tactical kind of trip waiting for him in a small field -- main danger to the next guy.
#2 Peak Performer	Think his baseline stuff is supposed to handle this group, but he's a bit tough to trust at this point in time and might be the kind of horse who is happy to settle for a share. Obvious player.
#5 Squeeze Play	Fresh face will have to go long at first asking, but it wouldn't be a shock to see him bring something competitive against this small bunch. Check him out ahead of this.
Race Summary	Whine Country looks like a reasonable alternative to Peak Performer, as I think 'Country still has a bit of room to improve while Peak Performer is pretty well defined at this point.

Presque Isle Downs - Race #7

#6 Fistfulofmoney	He has just needed a bit more in recent starts, but I think he gets another good trip today while racing up close, and I think that's the style I want in a race without a ton of committed pace.
#9 Nuck Chorris	He finished up well in the debut run over the synthetic at Turfway, and a reasonable step forward at second asking would probably make him competitive on the rise to try winners. Let's see....
#2 Vinsanity	He feels kind of cheap for this group, but he has a little bit of pace in a race where the front end could be there for the taking if they want it. Maybe.
Race Summary	Fistfulofmoney should get a good run of things here while always in the frame, and he'll probably offer another playable price. Could see him plugging past from close range today.

Presque Isle Downs - Race #8

#5 Florentine Lady	Think she'll graduate today while cutting the tag in half, as all her better tries have come in those $30,000 claiming spots, and another price cut today may be all she needs to get over the top. Synthetic form from Turfway fits.
#8 Starship Discovery	Might be worth wheeling back if you liked her last time when she dropped the rider at 7/5, as you're almost sure to get a better price this time around with a three-back route run on her page that might hit hard.
#4 Chalant	She's a fresh face with some modest expectations while debuting for this price, so take a look in the parade -- she isn't meeting a super-imposing cast of characters today.
Race Summary	Florentine Lady drops after an even effort for twice this price, and I think the easier spot coupled with the return to synthetic footing should be enough to get her home with this group. #6 Mambo Taxi worth a look on deeper tickets.

#6 CAPITAL CONQUEST (5-1)	Carried speed to runner-up finish from post 11, but he’s 3-for-46.
Race Summary	BIG BROWN SHOES runs best when he settles off the pace in short sprints as he could do in this spot as the co-light weight in the field. He gets a break in conditions and is a viable option for a win and place wager, considering rail-sitter SON OF THOR will attract most of the betting attention. Also play 3-1 and 3-6 exactas.

Parx - Race #2

#4 CHUBASCO SAUCE (2-1)	Duplicate of latest should be enough to ‘get by’ for the victory.
#5 CENTAUR CENTRAL (6-1)	Rallied for minor awards in 2 of last 3 starts at this distance.
#7 ACCELERATED DATING (3-1)	Claimed three times this year, cuts back to short sprint.
Race Summary	CHUBASCO SAUCE, one of two 3-year-olds in the race with two wins, should be formidable in this spot despite a 0-for-5 mark at the distance. He pressed the even-money favorite throughout at 6-1/2F but settled for second on the step up in class to this level off the claim. Bet to win and place and play 4-5 and 4-7 exactas.

Parx - Race #6

#3 LITTLE LANCE (9-2)	Four wins at distance, waited a month since claim to run in easier condition.
#8 FAST BOB (5-2)	Joins the claim party with 55/10-13-7 Parx record and $300k bankroll intact.

I've got to go with ALWAYS SPITEFUL. Jacquot has this filly running well and is a quite good selection based on the quite good Equibase Speed Figs put up in sprint races recently. Appears to be the type to be helped with second time Lasix here. I like the jockey on this filly - quite good chance to win the affair. SWEET MOTHER MARY - With a solid 81 Equibase Speed Figure last time out, will clearly be a factor in this outing. Like the results in the last couple of events. FULL SPIRIT - Solid try today on Lasix. Is a strong contender based on numbers posted recently under today's conditions.

GO YOSHIDA - This gelding looks good here since Ferraro has a solid win percentage with horses going this distance. Will probably be one of the early speedsters of the pack going into the midpoint of the race.
