ROT# 514 - 10:35pm - Los Angeles Lakers -13.5 (-110)
2.5 units to win 2.27 units
The Lakers have failed to cover the spread in 7 of their past 10 games and winning just 5 of their past 10 (SU) and the Lakers haven't beat a team by more than 10 points, in 10 games. With this all considered, the public isn't betting the Lakers as hard as they have been in past years; good news for us as we get a fairly low spread of -13.5 with the Lakers at home to the Charlotte (with all things considered). What I mean by that is: Charlotte will be without Gerald Henderson, DJ Augustin, DJ White and Correy Maggette in tonights game (all of whom average 10-15 points per game). Maggette has been injured since early January, but the other three injuries occured in Charlottes past few games. The Lakers have just this one home game before a long road stretch and will be determined to blow out Charlotte. Los Angeles is just 12-9 on the season, but 10-2 at home, while Charlotte is 1-11 on the road. The Lakers outmatch Charlotte in each position, even when they're completely healthy, so expect another strong game from Kobe, Bynum and Gasol; as well as "Metta World Peace" (Ron Artest has recently changed his name .. no joke).
The Lakers will rout Charlotte's injured squad.
Los Angeles 101 - Charlotte 81
ROT# 510 - 8:05pm - Memphis Grizzlies +2 (-110)
2.5 units to win 2.27 units
Rudy Gay and his teammates were ripped by coach Lionel Hollins for their effort following their 83-73 loss to the Spurs, with Gay's performance suffering the worst in a one-point effort. Gay was bothered by Kawhi Leonard and went hitless on seven shot attempts, but this was a team effort by the Grizzlies that created the circumstance. They simply didn't care tonight. Rudy Gay has been averaging 20.6 PPG, his past 10 games, so I expect a much better performance out of him tonight; facing a less stingy defense. Memphis was 6-2 at home before last night and Denvers defense is allowing 101 PPG on the road this season. This might me a wire to wire finish but I expect Memphis to be the more fired up team and pull out the home win snapping a four game losing streak. Denver guard, Ty Lawson, is averaging 16 Points per game, 4 Rebounds per game and 7 assits per game (meaning he is directly involved in 30-40 Denver points per game). Denver will be without Lawson tonight, which is especially important as the Point Guard position is Memphis weakest position. Ultimately, Memphis pulls out the win and Rudy Gay scores 30+ points. Marc Gasol will have a sizeable advantage at the Center position, versus Timofey Mozgov, and should have one of his best games of the season
