WUNDERDOG MLB 40-50 Season-to-Date +$920 Game: San Francisco at New York Mets (7:10 PM Eastern) Pick: San Francisco +125 (moneyline)
These teams have done an expected reversal. The Giants have gotten off to a sluggish start, but have now answered the bell by going 5-2 in their last seven, out-pitching Philly for two straight wins to close that series. After a 4-0 start the Mets have cooled off as expected to go 3-5 over their last eight games. They have allowed a staggering 8 runs per game over their last four, so the pen is shot coming into this one. The Mets' struggles vs. left-hand pitching continue with a 5-11 mark in their last 16 against them, and overall they have dropped six straight in the role of a favorite. The Giants were built on pitching and have carried that momentum to a 9-2 mark in a game following one in which they allowed 2 runs or less. The Giants have taken control of this series at 8-3 in their last 11 vs. the Mets. Play on San Francisco.
955 Mia / 956 WAS OVER 7.5 HiltonAnalysis: "N.L. Total of the Week" 3* on the MARLINS/NATIONALS OVER
Note: There are still a few "7.5" out there, however if u are limited in your "outs/books" and can only get "8" this is still a (3*) bet. I feel confident we see at least 9 runs here.
4-STAR Philadelphia over SAN DIEGO - Cole Hamels should be able to dominate San Diego here. The spacious park sets up perfectly for his style of pitching and the Padres offense is not formidable to begin with. He has the extra incentive of pitching in his hometown. Hamels has won three consecutive starts in San Diego and facing the Padres and will make it four here.
However, the last of those was at home in July last year and he allowed one run in eight innings, the only run he's allowed against San Diego in his last 24 innings of work against them, in a 3-1 win. The Phillies are 35-16 since September 16, 2006 when Cole Hamels starts on the road after his team won the last time he started vs this opponent for a net profit of $1350. Philadelphia's Vince Worley dominated San Diego in the series opener yesterday in a 2-0 win. The Padres had just four hits while Worley struck out 11. The Phillies are 13-1 since July 30, 2011 after a win in which they allowed 6 or fewer hits and it is not the first game of a series for a net profit of $1210. On the other side, the Padres are 3-16 since April 20, 2011 as a dog after a loss in which they had 6 or fewer hits in a night game for a net profit of $1222 when playing against. That loss was San Diego's third straight entering tonight's action. The Phillies are 13-1 since August 02, 2011 as a road favorite vs a team that has lost at least their last two games for a net profit of $1135. SPORTSBOOK BREAKERS PREDICTION: Philadelphia 5, SAN DIEGO 1
