    triple-dime bet 302 Cincinnati -4.0 (-110) Bookmaker.com vs 301 Pittsburgh
Analysis: After losing to sub division Youngstown State University last week, and not close but by two touchdowns, it does not bode well for the Panthers. Cincy is facing their first game and home opener off a season last year that they tied for the Big East title, won a bowl game and finished with "10" wins! Hours before the Pitt opener last week new coach Paul Chryst (Wisconsin "O" coord) suspended "6" players for that game at least. Whether they play tonight is still in question, but we're betting on it after last week's outcome. Pitt does have a quality RB in Ray Graham who was #2 in the nation when he tore an ACL last year with 134 yards per game. Offense returns "7" starters and the defense "5" for the Panthers. The unfortunate problem was that the "D" could not stop the YSU team last week who went 11-16 on 3rd down conversion. They got no pressure on the QB and had "0" sacks. Panther QB Tino Sunseri CANNOT carry a team, and showed it AGAIN last week, and last year had "10" TD and "11" INT. Cincy "D" was 6th in the nation against the rush, "42nd" overall, and the secondary is a question mark, but Sunseri hasn't looked good since the 8th grade picnic. UC has the best punter in the Big East in O'Donnell with a 43.8 average, and the best kickoff return man in Abernathy with an average of 26.5/return. We expect some rough moments for the Bearcats till they get their legs under them in this opener, but they will win by a TD or more.

          double-dime bet 907 NYY (+104) 5dimes vs 908 BAL
Analysis: I'll take the Yankees, who are used to big-game pressure. The Yankees have beaten the Orioles 21 of the last 29 times in Baltimore. The Orioles are not used to this kind of pennant race pressure.

The Yankees are going with rookie David Phelps, who i would rate an edge for going against a rusty and recuperating Jason Hammel.

Hammel was surprisingly effective early in the season, but things began to unravel during his last four starts when his ERA was 7.78. Hammel has been out since July 13 after undergoing knee surgery. This is his first start back and he will be on a pitch count. Hammel has a 4.91 ERA in two starts against New York this season.

                    OC Dooley:
“2 UNIT” PRIMETIME BASEBALL PERCENTAGE UNDERDOG (Cubs +210 at Nationals in a 7:05 eastern start-----Germano versus Zimmerman): It is hard to imagine that a wretched squad with a 17-51 overall record on the road would be a percentage underdog, but you will see an UNDEFEATED two-year database angle at the bottom of this analysis. The Cubs have been pounded each of the last two days in the nation’s capital as the pitching staff has surrendered an unfathomable 12 home runs. But in the past 14.2 innings of work, tonight’s Chicago starter Justin Germano has permitted only TWO homers to clear the fence. Even though host Washington has the best overall record in baseball, it is hard to justify a price tag as steep as this with a struggling pitcher on the mound. It was back in the middle of August when Jordan Zimmerman had the best overall ERA (2.38) in the entire National League, but in the most recent 3 mound assignments that ERA figure (9.88) has taken a serious plunge. One of the big stories in baseball is Washington soon shutting down ace Stephen Strasburg (innings limit) who recently underwent a tommy-john elbow procedure. It is worth noting that not all that long ago Jordan Zimmerman also had tommy-john surgery and even though not on an innings limit like his famous teammate, it appears that wear-and-tear of a long season are catching up. Last time on the mound Zimmerman permitted 8 runs which is notable since his previous career-high had been only six runs allowed. In the season series Washington has lost to the Cubs just ONCE and it just happened to be with Jordan Zimmerman as the starter. Tuning to the database here is an approaching 70-PERCENT SYSTEM (35-16 since 1997 in the National League) which actually plays ON bad offensive teams like the Cubs averaging less than 3.9 runs per contest up against an opponent who has an excellent bullpen ERA of 3.333 or better, when off consecutive “margin losses” of 4+ runs. That system supports the Cubs who in the past two years are UNDEFEATED (7-0) when revenging consecutive losses where the opponent plated at least 8 runs each time
