    MILLIONAIRES---------- Chicago

The Bears and Lions clash in Chicago for Monday Night Football. Chicago has been the class of the NFC North this season posting a 4-1 record and already claiming some pretty impressive resume builders in their 4 wins. The defense has been extraordinary for the Bears and playing in a primetime environment on Monday night against a division rival you can be sure that the Bears stalwart defense will be out in full force. Opponents have been able to figure out the Lions aerial attack with greater success this season and the Bears defense has been nothing short of spectacular. The Detroit Lions will look to make it back to back victories on the road as they head to Soldier Field in Chicago to take on the Bears in an NFC North battle on Monday Night Football. Matt Stafford has been up and down this season and Calvin Johnson who despite continuing to be one of the best receivers in the NFL and is in the top 5 in receiving yards hasn’t been the same game changing talent we are used to seeing. Add in the Soldier Field crowd and the extra week of preparation and I think the Bears have another great effort and make a statement to the Packers in the NFC North.

10 * I'm playing on DETROIT. At 4-1, the Bears have gotten off to a better start than the 2-3 Lions. I believe that's helped us in a couple of ways. For starters, the line is larger than it would have been, if the records were reversed. (The Bears were only -3 when the teams played here last season.) Also, I believe that sub-500 record may have the Lions playing with a little more urgency.

When looking at the schedules, its important to note that the Bears have had a pair of home games against the Rams and Colts and that one of their road games came at Jacksonville. The Lions also hosted the Rams. However, their other four games were all against arguably more difficult opponents (49ers, Eagles, Vikings, Titans) than the Colts or Jags.

In other words, if the schedules were reversed, the Bears may not necessarily have the better record, the way they currently do. Yet, the record is a big reason why the line is so much larger than it was for last season's game here.

Speaking of the higher line, note that the Bears are only 2-4 ATS the last six times that they were listed as home favorites in the 3.5 to 7 range. During the same stretch, the Lions were 4-2 ATS as road underdogs in the 3.5 to 7 range.

The Bears had been rolling, so their bye may not have come at the most opportune time. Meanwhile, the Lions are off a momentum-building victory. Trailing by 10 with roughly five minutes remaining they rallied for an improbable win at Philadelphia. That's the type of victory a team can really build off and I expect the Lions to do just that.

Coach Jim Schwartz noted this after last week's game: "I think it was a big step for us as a team, playing team football today and it was a lot of spirit and guys picking each other up. I think that's a good sign of things to come for this team."

Lovie Smith knows that Lions will be ready He noted: "Detroit, this week ... I'm sure they've been waiting for this game for a long time."

With last week's victory, the Lions are now 13-6 ATS their last 19 games played in the month of October, including 8-2 ATS since 2010. I expect AT LEAST another cover Monday night.

St. Louis (Lohse) at San Francisco (Cain) (-135) 8:00 ET Fox.

              5* St. Louis Cardinals (+125)
Each of these teams has been outstanding in elimination games. St. Louis is 6-0 L2Y, San Fran is 5-0 this year. The Giants have the advantage of playing at home, where they have outscored the Cards 11-1 the last 2 nights. These 2 starters met each other in game 3, a 3-1 St. Louis win. In that game Cain allowed 3 runs in 6 2/3IP. In 3 starts vs. St. Louis this year, Cain has 5.89 ERA. Lohse allowed just 1 run in 5 2/3 IP from that 3-1 victory. At this site he is 3-1 with a 3.42 ERA in his career. Value side is St. Louis.
