Both teams figure to contend throughout the year, playing in the weak Eastern conference but we’re going to have to see a lot more from Boston before we endorse spotting points with them against a capable intruder. Playing in Boston is something most teams get up for.

Philly and Boston are both 2-2 with the 76ers getting whacked twice by the Knicks. However, they do have a win over Denver and a road win in New Orleans while the Celtics two wins have both come against the winless Wizards. As a 10-point choice over Washington in its last game, Boston needed OT to secure the win. In Washington, the Celts won by three points and their two losses have both been by double digits. When Kevin Garnett is on the bench, the Celtics look like the Charlotte Bobcats, getting badly outplayed and outscored every time he sits. It’s early but Boston appears to be out of sync. With a bunch of new faces and several aging vets, they haven’t found any sort of rhythm yet. That affords us an opportunity to take back some points with a quality club like Philadelphia in what figures to be a closely fought affair.
