7:00 PM -- Wells Fargo Center PHILADELPHIA 76ERS (6-4) -5 ½ over Toronto Raptors (3-7)
Prediction: 76ers by 11-12
Comments: There is not much spectacular about the Philadelphia 76ers but they come to play in every game, are a real team, and play intense defense that has limited the opposition to an average of just 90.1 points per game this season. It is of note that while going 5-1 in their last six games with the Raptors, the 76ers have held the former to an average of just 84.3 points per game. Philadelphia has all the edges against a Toronto team that is 1-4 on the road.

USC (-2) over Texas
5:00 PM -- Lahaina Civic Center - Lahaina, HI Southern California (2-1) -2 over Texas (2-1)
Prediction: USC by 8-9
Comments: Southern Cal ran into a buzz-saw yesterday in its 94-64 loss to Illinois and it by no means is indicative of the talent the Trojans have. Illinois shot lights out in the first half, hitting 68.0% (22-of-32) in the first half and finished with the game at 53.2%, including 13-of-29 three-pointers (44.8%). The quick start by the Illini seemed to catch USC completely off guard and stunned the Trojans from the get go. It was a game in which Illinois could not have played better, and USC could not have played a worse game. The real Trojans will show up today against a Texas team that was upset by host Division II Chaminade, a Catholic college with an enrollment of 1,200, 86-73, in the opening round.

UCLA (-12) over Georgia
7:30 PM -- Barclays Center - Brooklyn, NY UCLA (3-1) -12 over Georgia (1-3)
Prediction: UCLA by 19-20
Comments: UCLA has dramatically superior talent, is in major bounce-back form coming off a 78-70 upset loss to Georgetown on this same floor yesterday. A lack of defense—usually a UCLA strong suit—played a major part in that loss (Georgetown shot 54.5% from the floor) but that should not be a problem against a Georgia team that is quite offensively challenged, hitting just 36.3 of its field goals this season. This one has “blowout” written all over it.

Saint Louis (+8.5) over Kansas
9:30 PM -- Sprint Center - Kansas City, MO Saint Louis (2-1) +8 ½ over Kansas (3-1)
Prediction: Kansas by 1-2
Comments: I am one of those who believes this Saint Louis team is better than the one that went 26-8 that went 1-1 in the NCAA Tournament last year and it certainly has the talent to take it to nationally-ranked Kansas in this one. Coming off a stunning loss at home, to Santa Clara, 74-62, the real Billikens showed up yesterday and buried a decent Texas A&M team, 70-49. That is the team Kansas will face today and while the Jayhawks may win this one, the figures suggest it will not be by more than a point or two
