Bradley (-6½) over George Washington
8:00 PM -- Carver Arena
BRADLEY (5-2) -6 ½ over George Washington (4-3)
Prediction: Bradley by 14-15
Starting Time: 8:00 No TV Comments: There are few tougher places in the country to win that at Bradley’s Carver Arena and if that were not obstacle enough for George Washington, this Bradley team has moved into the second stage of its rebuilding program and its progress is apparent. In their last game, the Braves lost at home to nationally-ranked Michigan, 74-66, and were in the game all the way. Try as they could, the Wolverines struggled to put Bradley away. George Washington is another team that has done little to impress me this season but the Colonials do come into this game off back-to-back wins at home over Manhattan, 67-55, and in their last game, at James Madison, 54-53. This is a major step up in class for G.W. in tonight’s game as my figures an analysis says they don’t have the talent to get the cover, let alone the win, at Carver Arena. For the record, the wiseguys are also all over this game, driving the number up from Bradley -4 ½ to its current -6 ½.

Elon (-11) over Dartmouth
7:00 PM -- Alumni Gym
ELON (5-3) -11 over Dartmouth (2-3)
Prediction: Elon by 16-17
Comments: Elon has dramatically superior talent over this young Dartmouth Club and figures to dominate from start to finish, wearing down the Big Green, which has no bench (the starters account for 82.4% of the scoring) and then putting them away. Dartmouth won this game, 62-54, on its home court last season, adding to the revenge factor for the host Phoenix tonight. Dartmouth has played two road games this season, losing at Bucknell, 62-49, while getting the money at Longwood, 61-53. Elon comes into this off a 56-54 home loss to College of Charleston. Elon’s other two losses came in the season-opener at Butler, 74-59, at VMI, 90-81. It is of note the Phoenix have also won twice on the road, getting it done at South Carolina, 65-53, and at Georgia Southern, 55-50. Everything points to a big Elon win.

Boston College (-4) over Harvard
7:00 PM -- Silvio O. Conte Forum
BOSTON COLLEGE (3-4) -4 over Harvard (3-3)
Prediction: Boston College by 9-10
Comments: Boston College went 9-22 last season with a team that lost all five starters and 10 lettermen from the previous year’s 21-13 Eagles and was forced to start four freshmen from among its 11 newcomers. While the rebuilding process continues, Boston College is a dramatically improved team this time around and appears to have all the edges over a Harvard team that saw its season almost end before it started when its two co-captains had to leave school in a major academic scandal involving more than 165 students. The Eagles come into this game off a 73-61 win at Penn State while Harvard stands 0-2 on the road, losing at St. Joseph’s, 75-56, and at Massachusetts, 67-64. This one figures to be a ground-it-out affair and B.C. should get the win and cover with a dominating performance.

Wyoming (+8) over Illinois State
8:05 PM -- Doug Collins Court at Redbird Arena
Wyoming (8-0) +8 over ILLINOIS STATE (5-2)
Prediction: Wyoming by 2-3
Comments: This is a matchup of two very good veteran teams who try to win in a manner separated by 180 degrees. Illinois State does it with an offense that averages 82.3 points per game while Wyoming puts its best foot forward with a defense that gives up just 53.9 points per outing. Something obviously has to give and I believe it will be the Illinois State offense. Wyoming is coached to the razor’s edge by Larry Shyatt who brings to every game an intensely focused team that plays both ends of the court with a true fierceness. Wyoming comes into this game off a 76-69 home win over nationally-ranked and previously undefeated Colorado and has won both its road games this season, at Cal-Santa Barbara, 68-40, and at Northern Colorado, 69-60. In its last two games, Illinois State lost a pair of tough ones, first at Northwestern, 72-69, in overtime and on Saturday at nationally-ranked Louisville, 69-66. Both teams will bring it but my figures say defense prevails.

Pacific (-6½) over Nevada
10:00 PM -- Alex G. Spanos Center
PACIFIC (3-4) -6 ½ over Nevada (4-3)
Prediction: Pacific by 11-12
Starting Time: 10:00 No TV Comments: I have seen Nevada play three times this season on TV and they have done next to nothing to impress me. Throw out a 79-61 home win over Southern Utah (2-5) and the Wolfpack has won its three other home games by 1, 2 and 3 points. They have gone on the road twice this season, losing at Cal-Irvine, 78-64 and three games ago at Marshall, 89-82. With that said, Nevada is taking on a Pacific team that has danced successfully with the big boys. The Tigers in their last four games—the first three on a neutral court—beat Xavier, 70-67, Saint Mary’s, 76-66, before losing to a then-undefeated California team, 78-58. In its last game, Pacific lost at nationally-ranked Gonzaga, 85-67. There is no edge Pacific does not have in this game and the figures say the Tigers should march right to the winner’s circle.Comment

4 Unit Play. #725 Take Wyoming +8.5 over Illinois State (8 pm) These are two good teams for mid-majors and thus this line is way too high as I expect this game to go down to the wire. Wyoming is 8-0 on the season coming off an impressive victory over Colorado in their last outings and this team just does not give up many points. Riley Grabau is questionable for this game, but either way it will not matter as he did not play much for the Cowboys in the last two games and they still won. Wyoming is 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games overall. Illinois State is 8-19 ATS in their last 27 home games against teams with a winning road record.
5 Unit Play. #758 Take Illinois -18 over Western Carolina (8 pm BTN.com) I have been a very big fan of this Illinois team thus far and it appears that the players are responding well to their new head coach. The Illini are 8-0 on the season and 6 of those victories have come by double digits. They have much better talent than Western Carolina, a team that has been blown out by so-so teams such as Western Kentucky and a rebuilding Wichita State. Illinois is scoring close to 80 points per game and that will allow them to cover this big number and allow us to collect in the process as well. Illinois has 4 players averaging over 11 points per game and that balance will be too much for the Catamounts to overcome. Illinois is 7-1 ATS in their last 8 games played on Tuesday. Western Carolina is 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games following a loss in their previous game.
4 Unit Play. #768 Take Charleston +10 over Louisville (9 pm ESPN) The Cardinals are not the fifth best team in the country and will struggle to win this game straight-up against a pesky Charleston team let away cover this big of a number. This is not the same team without star center Gorgui Dieng and that leaves a major void for them on defense. A small Duke team put them away and expect Charleston to play with them for 40 minutes at TD Arena. This was only a 7-point game when these teams met last season in Louisville. Charleston is 35-15 ATS (1 push) in their last 51 non-conference games. This game goes down to the wire and we collect with whoever comes out of top.Comment

If I'm you guys, I'm laying off on that Minnesota-SDS game if you can. Jump in the line because apparently Nate Wolters is questionable. (And if it moved that much I think it's clear he isn't going to play.)
Act now.

Perhaps at first glance this number seems high. On closer inspection it's actually a bargain. The Grizzlies are good, darn good and this is a kill spot for them.
Memphis and Miami are tied for the best winning percentage in the NBA with 12-3 records. The Suns are a lottery team facing a bad situational spot.
The Grizzlies last played on Saturday against the Spurs in San Antonio. This was the second of back-to-back games for the Grizzlies, while the Spurs had sat out their three main stars against Miami in their previous game to give them two full days of rest instead of one. Still, the Grizzlies took the Spurs to overtime before losing. Memphis also played without Tony Allen, who may be back for this game. The Grizzlies led San Antonio by 14 with less than 10 minutes left.
That defeat left a bad taste in the mouth of the Grizzlies. Now the Grizzlies are the rested team. They are 8-1 at home this season, covering seven of the nine. Memphis leads the NBA in defense yielding 90.7 points a game and ranks in the top six in defensive field goal percentage and defensive 3-point percentage. The Grizzlies have covered 12 of their last 14 games.
Phoenix is 2-8 on the road. The Suns are playing in their sixth straight road game. They are 1-4 on this road trip with their lone win coming against the Cavaliers.
The Suns' confidence is down. In their last three games they lost by 40 points to the Pistons, lost by four to Toronto and lost by seven to New York this past Sunday with the final losing margin not indicative of how bad the Suns played because the Knicks relaxed in the second half after building a 59-42 halftime lead.
The Suns desperately want to get back to the desert. They rank last defensively allowing 102.7 points per game. They've surrendered 108 points per game in their last three matchups. Phoenix could be missing Jermaine O'Neal, the team's second-leading shot-blocker who has a right quadriceps strain.Comment
