We started off the season a bit slow but now 3 straight winners and 5-1 run. Thanks for your committed faith. Let's continue to string winners.
4-Unit Play. #548. Take Drake +2.5 over St. Mary's (CA) (Wednesday @ 8pm est).
St. Mary's is a solid team and I have them ranked 82nd in my power rankings. This team has become known for their basketball but that doesn't take away from Drake who also has been impressive this year. Drake is a top 100 team in my book and with St. Mary's being slightly better in the rankings, there is a shift of around 40-45 spots form home to road value. So, what you have here is a 120 team on the road against a 98th team if you will. St. Mary's has solid wins against the likes of Utah State who is a top 120 team but this should be a more difficult task as they have yet to beat a team who is in the top 100 this year. For example, this team lost to Georgia Tech this year by 9 points who is a top 75 team and also lost to Pacific by 10 points who is a top 125 team. Combine that with this game being a solid public fade on the board as the public is on St. Mary's to a tune of 70% and you have the makings of a solid play here. Plus, when you take a look at Drake's losses, taking away their first road game of the year against Detroit because that is typically an outlier, this team lost by just 3 points to top 50 California and by 4 points to top 50 Xavier. This team is primed for a marquee win and they are under the radar being a top 100 team that is at 3-3 given their quality of competition they have played. I like Drake to win this game Outright by a couple points here.
