Analysis: With no rest, the Celtics are going to have to try to outscore rather than out defend the 76ers. Boston’s starters were 2-of-15 from the arc yesterday. They should fare a lot better here.
The Celtics are 12-0 OU at home with at most one day of rest off an overtime game, flying over by an average of 17.3 ppg. Also, Boston is 8-0 OU (14.4 ppg) at home with at most one day of rest after a loss when their OPPONENT is off an overtime game.
The player-based trends reveal that the Celtics are 8-0 OU (8.9 ppg) at home when Brandon Bass played fewer than 30 minutes the last two games and 4-0 OU at home after a loss in which Paul Pierce took more than 20 shots, eclipsing the OU line by an average of 27.5 ppg.
