Denver is far from a top team but they are still one of the top offensive teams in the league - 9th in points.

Detroit is adequate on the defensive end but they struggle to score which is why I think Denver can win easily even on the road, where they have struggled.

Both teams are coming off losses but you have to like the depth of Denver with 6 players averaging between 10 and 16ppg.

I also like the matchup of Ty Lawson against Brandon Knight as it will tire out the Pistons leading scorer.

As long as they make enough shots to control the pacer Denver should be in control throughout.

Nuggets are a solid 5-2 ATS with one day of rest this season.

Comments: First of all, this is not a good Villanova basketball team and certainly is not of the quality of the feared Wildcat teams of the past. Villanova has beaten the bad teams on its schedule and been buried by the good ones—at home by Temple, 76-61, at home to La Salle, 77-74, at home by Columbia, 75-57, at Alabama, 77-55, and at South Florida, 56-47. The talent is just not there to beat a good basketball team and St. Joseph’s is that. The Hawks are experienced, big, very athletic, quick, and have the talent to bury the Wildcats. The decline of Villanova basketball and the dramatic talent difference between these two teams will become apparent in the early minutes of this game.

Comments: The Los Angeles Clippers have won six straight by an average of 16.8 points and is at the absolute top of its game, and they arrive in Chicago with a well-rested starting lineup. In their last game, a 102-83 over Toronto, the Clippers sat four of their starters the entire fourth quarter and used the fifth one for just 1:36 of the final period. Not only is L.A. playing its best basketball in years right now, it also has one of the strongest benches in the NBA, getting an average of 41.8 points from it. Chicago has won its last three but is being hampered by injuries. Superstar guard Derrick Rose is still recovering from surgery for a torn ACL and Richard Hamilton is out with a foot injury. There also is a chance Chicago will tonight be without starting point guard Kirk Hinrich (elbow). Everything says the Clippers make it eight straight.

Comments: Cal Poly is one of the most disciplined teams in college basketball, makes few mistakes in handling the basketball and plays a deliberate game that can drive any opponent nuts. Just ask UCLA which Cal Poly beat, 70-68, at Pauley Pavilion. Noting illustrates the discipline of the Mustangs more than the fact they are the number-one ranked team in the country (of 347) in fewest turnovers with just 8.5 per game and 4th nationally in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.73-1). The deliberate offense alone is enough to put this mediocre Nevada team over the edge, even playing at home. Nevada is also still trying to find itself and has started two different starting lineups in its last two games and may go with another one tonight—this after starting the same five in the first games of the season. This one should belong to Cal Poly.
