Indian Cowboy's Picks For College Basketball

There are no College Basketball plays today. 1-1 yesterday as San Francisco wins but Hawaii could not manage to squeeze out the cover despite being tied 63 all with a couple minutes to go and grabbing 8.5 points. A winner on Akron the day before. Please check back tomorrow for plays. After 3 straight winning years in College Basketball this has been a really difficult year for me (60% overall in those years). We will put together a positive streak in the coming days but its yet to be seen how much ground we can make up. I've never had back to back losing seasons in any sport (we do a total of seven now) and it would be nice to be winning 4 straight winning years compared to 3 of 4 winning years. We will work hard to make the necessary changes to put together a positive run in the coming months. Still a little over 3 months left but just wanted to say I apologize for the piss poor year this year and we'll try to make as much ground as we can. Many of you have been with me for over 13 years and will continue to be with me, but I still felt the need to say I appreciate your patronage for all these years.

Denver likely remembers the embarrassing loss they took at the hands of the Lakers by a final score of 122-103. Combine that with Lakers coming off a huge win on Christmas Day over the Knicks and a cover and it sets them up for a likely let down as they face the Nuggets here on the road. Bear in mind that the Nuggets were the last game on the board last night and fell short to the Clippers on national television so that probably irks them coming into this game. With revenge, a public fade and a Laker let down here make for a good opportunity here for the Nuggets to win this contest. The Nuggets beat the Spurs at home if you remember despite San Antonio coming off a loss and beat Memphis by five. The Lakers were fortunate in some ways to beat the Knicks at home and I would not be surprised if they struggle here as the tables are turned with the Nuggets needing a big win. Houston looked fantastic last night at Chicago and they are likely in for a let down going on the road to face a Minnesota team that will be waiting for them. Minnesota is in a prime spot to do well as they come off a tough loss to New York on the road in their last game. This is the same team that beat OKC at home after a tough road loss in back to back games to Miami and Orlando. I can see Minnesota stepping up here against Houston who just ran through Chicago it seems like a $50 hooker. Look for a little bit more resistance here for the Rockets as Minnesota has a great deal of size and sound guard play. Minnesota has beaten this team the last 3 times they have played them and look for Barrea to matchup well against Lin. Lin has had it relatively easy against point guards such as Hinrich and Felton of late who are not sound on the defensive end but the Minnesota guards generally are. Plus, the Rockets have San Antonio on deck and could be looking ahead as well. The Suns have begun to improve. They are 11-17 and 9-6 at home. This comes off the heels of a series of big wins. This is useful considering they have revenge from a 106-99 loss earlier this year. Note that this team was just run out of the building by the Clippers by a score of 77-103 but considering the Clippers are beating everyone these days its tough to hold that against the Suns. Prior to that game, the Suns played Portland tough on the road which is always tough to do losing by 3 points and covering the spread, beat Charlotte at home by 17, beat Sacramento at home by 11, beat Utah at home by 15 and beat Memphis at home by two points. This is a good public fade, a decent revenge spot and I'm not sure how much New York wants this game considering they come off a tough loss to the Lakers, Felton is questionable and banged up coming into this game and the Knicks are probably ready to get to Sacramento for their next game and return home. Look for Phoenix to have a lot of energy this game coming off a bad loss, playing with revenge and generally playing better overall as a team right now.
