Indian Cowboy's Picks For College Basketball

3-Unit Play. #520 Take James Madison -3 over Towson (Tuesday @ 7pm est)

3-Unit Play. #515. Take Virginia Tech +14.5 over Virginia (Tuesday @ 7pm est).

3-Unit Play. #518. Take Detroit -15 over Cleveland State (Tuesday @ 7pm est).

Indian Cowboy's Picks For NBA Basketball

I apologize for yesterday's dud given that we are 70% still lifetime on 7* Selections (and we hit the Celtics -7 which was a 7* and the 3 previous step-out NBA Plays) we will look to step-out in the future, but again yesterday's dud stinks and we'll look to bounce-back like we usually do and produce our 3rd straight winning month. Let's end the first half of the season on a positive note and build to the 2nd half of the season.

3-Unit Play. #504. Take Under 200 Miami vs. Portland (Tuesday @ 7:35pm est).

      3-Umit Play. #504. Take Miami -11.5 over Portland (Tuesday @ 7:05pm est).

3-Unit Play. #512. Take Golden State -5 over Houston (Tuesday @ 10:35pm est).

Indian Cowboy's Picks For NHL Hockey

3-Unit Play. #15 Take Anaheim Ducks +145 vs. Chicago (Tuesday @ 8:35 pm est)
      3-Unit Play. #5 Montreal - Tampa Bay Over the Total 5 ½ (Tuesday @ 7:35 pm est)
Tampa Bay is led by Steven Stamkos who netted (60) goals and four others had (20) or more. It was mostly down to goaltending problems last season that scuttled the chances of the Lightning to get back into the postseason. The first chapter of the Marc Bergevin regime in Montreal is underway and the team's new general manager wasted little time putting his stamp on the Canadiens. Bergevin hired Michel Therrien for a second tour of duty behind the bench. Some continued improvement from their young core, some rebounds from veterans coming off a bad season, and the jolt of energy created by the new blood in the front office and coaching staff has propelled this club back into the discussions of playoff hockey. The Over is (48-22-3) in Lightning last (73) home games, (21-6) in Lightning last (27) Tuesday games and (10-1-1) in Lightning last (12) games playing on one day's rest. The Over is (6-2) in Canadiens last (8) overall, (11-5-3) in Canadiens last (19) following a home loss of (3) or more goals and (6-2) in Canadiens last (8) versus the Eastern Conference. The Bolts Strike Back on home ice in high scoring affair. As per the Blachawks game they are five away from setting the NHL record for most games without a regulation loss to start a season. The current mark is held by Anaheim, which began its 2006-07 championship campaign with a (12-0-4) run. The Ducks endured a terrible first half of last season, replaced Randy Carlyle as coach with Bruce Boudreau, then went on a furious run to cut a (20) point deficit in the postseason race all the way down to four before fading late and finishing with a (34-36-12) record, last in the Pacific and (15) points shy of a playoff berth. HC Bruce Boudreau was popular among his players but also knew how to lay down the law and get their attention when he felt it was necessary. The Blackhawks return to the United Center for the first time in more than two weeks. Long road trips can be exhausting and we'll back the ?Quack Attack? in the ?Windy City?.

Robert Ferringo's Picks For NHL Hockey
        1-Unit Pick #3 Buffalo (+1.20) over Ottawa (7:35 pm, Tuesday, February 12)

Buffalo rolls into Ottawa off a 3-1 home loss to Boston that they were playing on back to back nights after beating the Islanders in New York the night before. Ottawa is off consecutive losses after being shutout at home 1-0 to the Winnipeg Jets with the power play going 0-3 and hasn't scored in two games with the man advantage going a combined 0-6. These two teams played on February 5th in Ottawa with the Senators holding onto a 4-3 win. The Senators to me look like they have hit a wall scoring just seven goals in their last five games and while the Senators rode the back of goalie Griag Anderson early on who was stellar in the net even he has seem to drop a bit allowing three goals in his last two starts which could be a result of fatigue after starting ten of the twelve games this year. Buffalo as a team looked tired in their last game against Buffalo with the Sabres and Penguins playing the most games so far in this shortened season. The Sabres however were given the day off yesterday and should be ready to go against a Senators lineup missing a few guys while Buffalo doesn't have any injury issues right now. Buffalo defense has been soft allowing a NHL high 46 goals but their All Star goalie Ryan Miller is returning to he brilliant play making 78 saves in the last two games, not good for a Ottawa team that is having trouble scoring.

1-Unit Pick Take Over (5.5) Washington at Florida (7:35 pm, Tuesday, February 12)

This two meet for the second time after Washington shutout Florida 5-0 on Saturday in Washington that kept the game under the 5.5 goals. We get to go over here at plus money with a Washington team that has had issues in goal allowing a average of 3.41 goals a game here in the first twelve games of the season. Before that last game Florida seemed to have got it going on offense scoring 15 goals in the prior four games but caught a movatited Washington team with the Panthers playing the end of a four game road trip. I think Florida offense who has started to get healthy here will bounce back in what should be a fast paced game. Lets get over the total here.

1-Unit Pick Take Over (5) Minnesota at Vancouver (10pm, Tuesday, February 12)

Rarely do you see Vancouver with a total of five goals but that is what we find tonight with this Minnesota team in town who has struggled on offense scoring just seven goals in their last five games after winning 2-1 in a shoot out last night. Vancouver is a team built on speed and the offense has clicked the last two games combing for nine goals with four of them coming in a 4-1 win in Minnesota with the total pushing on the five goals. I expected more of the same from the Caunucks offense with a little more help for Minnesota tonight making this five goal total with little juice attractive.

          DAVID BANKS

          February 12,,2013

Portland Trail Blazers vs. Miami Heat Two teams that are currently on 'over' streaks could be in line for another when the Miami Heat (34-14, 24-24 ATS) host the Portland Trail Blazers (25-26, 22-27-2 ATS) at American Airlines Arena in Miami, FL on Tuesday night at 7:35 ET in a game carried on NBA TV. Yes, this could be a letdown spot for the Heat after double-digit wins over the two Los Angeles teams, but when Miami has taken nights off this season, it has usually shown up in a lack of defensive intensity. Speaking of defense, it has become a foreign concept to a Portland team that has allowed 106.0 points per game over the last five games. The Heat have now gone 'over' on three straight games, as before hanging up 111 points on the Clippers and 107 on the Lakers, they were involved in a 114-108 shootout win over the Houston Rockets. Offense has not been an issue for Miami this season as it ranks fifth in the NBA in scoring at 102.8 points per game while leading the league on field goal percentage at an amazing 49.2 percent overall and ranking third in three-point shooting at 38.6 percent. LeBron James has been playing like a man possessed lately, as his 32-point effort vs. the Lakers Sunday gave him five consecutive 30-point games, and he has unbelievably hit on 49 of his last 65 field goal attempts for an unheard of 75.4 percent success rate! Also the Heat are at full strength again after Chris Bosh, Ray Allen and Dwayne Wade all had the flu this week with the former two missing some games. The Miami defense is ranked 12th in points against at 96.6 points per game, a big drop-off after ranking fourth last season while allowing only 92.5 points per contest, although one gets the sense that they can turn on the intensity defensively at any time. This does not seem like the spot to do so however after two big marquee wins. The Portland defense ranks 21st in points allowed at 99.3 per game and 25th in field goal percentage against at 46.4 percent, but the Blazers have been even worse than that while going 'over' in the last five games, allowing those opponents to shoot an unbearable 49.4 percent! The defense has been so bad that Portland allowed the Orlando Magic to snap a 12-game losing streak in a 110-104 loss on Sunday. If the Blazers could allow 110 points to Orlando, how are they supposed to contain the Miami offense with LeBron currently in raging form? The Portland offense has actually been doing its part, topping 100 points in four of those five games, and the one time it failed to it scored 99 points in a five-point loss at Dallas, so the Blazers should continue to put points on the board vs. a potentially relaxed Miami defense. Also, Portland's Rookie of the Year candidate Damian Lillard figured to bounce back well after scoring a season-low four points vs. the Magic, just the third time this season he was held to single-digits. The first time it happened, he bounced back with 29 points and the second time it happened, he came back with a 16-point, 8-rebound and 5-assist effort. The 'over' is 5-1 in the last six head-to-head meetings overall and 4-1 in the last five meetings in Miami. The 'over' is also 7-1 in the last eight Miami games following a straight up win.
          Pick: OVER 200

Two for Tuesday February 12, 2013 3:00 AM by GT Staff

2 for Tuesday by Richard Saber

            1) Michigan PK at Michigan State (Big Ten)

The Spartans are 9-1 in their last 10 and under the radar with most of the attention in the Big Ten on Indiana and Michigan. The Wolverines are 0-3 ATS in last three games. MICHIGAN ST.

            2) Minnesota at Vancouver (NHL)

The Wild hit Vancouver at the wrong time. Canucks are on a five-game win streak and, no matter who is in goal, are playing at a high level. Minnesota 0-3-1 away from home. VANCOUVER.

Richard Saber: Last week ATS: 0-2; 2013 record: 6-6.

2 for Tuesday by Mark Mayer

            1) Kentucky +11 at Florida (SEC)

We can’t remember the last time Kentucky was a double-digit underdog. Granted, Florida right now is the SEC’s best team, but we trust Calipari to have his boys ready in Gainesville. KENTUCKY.

            2) Virginia Tech +15 at Virginia (ACC)

The visiting Hokies are on a six-game losing streak, which is bad news heading into Charlottesville. The Cavaliers are 6-1 in their last seven and the past two by an average of 24 points. VIRGINIA.

Mark Mayer: Last week ATS: 1-1; 2013 record: 6-6.
