721 Montana -2.0 (-110) 5dimes vs 722 Southern UtahAnalysis: This is a huge game for Montana as they can all but wrap up the regular season Big Sky title with a win here. At 16-1 they have a half game lead over 16-2 Weber State and will have a pair of home games against two sub-.500 te„ams to end regular season play. The Big Sky Tournament is not only held at the site of the regular season champion but only the top 7 teams participate with the top seeded team getting a first round Bye. Those are two HUGE motivational factors that greatly favor Montana. Southern Utah was very competitive in the first meeting this season, losing 73-67 at Montana but covering as 13 1/2 point underdogs. But that was back in mid January and the stakes for Montana are much higher now. This is Southern Utah's final home game and they are in danger of missing out as one of the top 7 finishers but can control their own fate in their final two road games. Monanta is clearly the better team and is highly motivated to earn the home court for the conference Tournament which would pave the way for a return to the Big Dance in which they participated as a 13 seed last season, losing to Wisconsin.

4-Unit Play. #720. Take Texas +1.5 over Baylor (Monday @ 9pm est).

Texas has an opportunity to win Outright today. We will take the points here as this has certainly been a trying here for Rick Barnes. This is a coach and program that is used to winning on a consistent basis and currently sits at 13-16 on the year. But, bear in mind that this is a very young team that has not lost back to back games over the last 8 games. This team won 20 games last year and though this year is a rebuilding year if you will, look for them to do well on tonight's game as this will have national exposure and it is a home game to boot. Texas features 5 underclassman and as they come off a 13 point loss to Oklahoma State, I like them to hang tough here at home, the same place where they have beat the likes of Oklahoma in overtime and beat Iowa State in double-overtime - who are two top 50 teams. As Baylor is also a top 50 team here and as they face them at home, Texas has the goods to beat a team they lost to earlier in the year on the road in overtime. Now, this team has several wins underneath this belt and this will be a young team to look out for in the future. Given the revenge, given they come off a loss and have the ability to beat top 50 teams at home and the fact that Baylor has not beat a top 100 team on the road this year, makes it for a difficult proposition for Baylor to likely do well on the road here. I like Texas to win this game Outright at home today. Texas is not going to the Dance but a win here would certainly be a bright spot for the program as they are 7-1 ATS in their last 8 games coming off a straight up loss and Baylor is 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games against the Big 12.

4-Unit Play. #704. Take Orlando Magic +9.5 over New Orleans Hornets (Monday @ 8:05pm est).

This is a good spot for the Magic. I watched the Memphis game yesterday and they were easily taken to the shed by Memphis in a game that they Magic played hard but Memphis was probably still upset from the Miami loss. Memphis bounced-back in a big way by routing this team 82-108. This team will look to rebound today on their first game of the western conference road trip at New Orleans. The last time they played New Orleans the lost 97-94 at home and this is a revenge game for Orlando. More importantly, coming off a loss of 26 points you would think that this team will show some pride today against the Hornets/Pelicans on the road. Plus, New Orleans has LA on the docket in their next game and its a look ahead. I wouldn't be surprised to see the Hornets possibly looking ahead as its tough to get up for the Magic who just got crushed by the Grizzlies and a team that you beat on the road already this year. The Magic have done well as fairly sized underdogs coming off big losses. For example, when they lost to Sacramento by 24 at home, they rebounded against the Rockets by covering the 9 point spread at home. Or, when the lost by 15 to Dallas, they covered in their next game against the Grizzlies losing by 6 on the road. The Magic have the ability to surprise you as on their last west coast trip, they covered against the Blazers, Nuggets and beat the Clippers Outright on the road. The Magic are 11-4-1 ATS following a double-digit loss at home, with revenge, coming off an ugly home loss and the Hornets coming off a win against Detroit and looking ahead to the upcoming Laker game, not a bad spot here for the Magic and the points.

4-Unit Play. #5. Take Anaheim -110 over Phoenix (Monday @ 9:05pm est).

Anaheim remembers a tight loss to Phoenix in their last game which they lost in overtime. We are aware of that game because we were on Phoenix in an exciting contest that saw them win in extra time. This is basically a home and home. And although the public is on Anaheim to a tune of 70%, sometimes the public does win. Anaheim is the better team here and when you have a 15-3-2 team losing to a 10-8-3 team and they play a home and home and a chance for revenge, its not a bad opportunity for us to take them. Anaheim does not lose much this season and to get them off a loss, on a home and home of that, with a 12-3 western conference record as the Coyotes are 2-5 after scoring 5 goals or more or 3-8 coming off a straight up win, its not a bad opportunity for us to take Anaheim as they come into this game motivated. Let's roll with the better team here that is motivated to do well.

2-Unit Pick Take under (6) Tampa Bay at Pittsburgh (7:35 pm, Monday, March 4th)


This total opened six goals with a small amount attached to go over before money has come in here pushing the over money that is attached to this total. The money on the over is a given and almost predictable, the Penguins have a explosive offense that is coming off a seven goal outburst in Montreal winning the game 7-6 and have put four goals or more on the scoreboard in six of their last nine games including five goals vs this Tampa team in a 5-3 win on February 24th. Tampa has been a different team from the one that started the season out by winning six of their first seven games, after the 3-2 loss in Boston the Lighting have now lost eleven of their last fourteen games. The Lighting offense looks to be off the last few games only scoring four goals over their last three games but it is really head coach Guy Boucher stressing the defense first mentality. The powerplayis definitely off its game converting just six times over their last fifty two chances over the last thirteen games which is a far cry from the the thirteen times they scored over their first 36 chances to start the season. Look for both teams to tighten up the defense for this one and I would fade the obvious money that has showed up on the over.

2-Unit Pick Take under (5) Anaheim at Phoenix (9 pm, Monday, March 4th)


These two teams just played a wild one with Phoenix winning 5-4 in a shoot out here on Saturday night and still will play each other on Wednesday in a weird scheduling spot. I don't think we will see that type of hockey game tonight. Phoenix caught Anaheim playing on back to back nights that lead to sloppy hockey. Look for the Coyotes too play tight here in a game that they can't afford to get into a north to south type of game. We get a very generous take back here going under this total in a game that I think both goalies will play better after putting in sub par performances.
