The Hawks were getting too complacent with the guys they had and Atlanta has overhauled its roster and we see that as a good thing. The Atlanta Hawks have already punched their ticket to the postseason while the lottery-bound Toronto Raptors aren't likely to roll over as they look for their sixth win in seven games. In Atlanta's past two victories, the Hawks have scored (116.5) points while shooting (52.3) percent. Atlanta is a small team and, with a wealth of scorers, the Hawks need to outscore opponents to win. Following GM Danny Ferry's busy offseason, the Hawks appear to be without a glaring weakness on either end of the court. Raptors head coach Dwane Casey is well respected and he has instilled a more-physical mindset in his squad and they do have some offensive firepower. The Over is (21-10-1) in the last (32) meetings, (13-5-1) in the last (19) meetings in Atlanta's Philips Arena and (6-1) in Raptors last (7) Tuesday games. Toronto lost by 19 points to Atlanta earlier this year and have revenge coming into this game and I suspect they will be an active underdog and likely push this game over the posted total.

Its crunch time for those wanting to go to the playoffs and the Blues essentially have to treat this game as a playoff contest. St. Louis lost to the Canucks 3-2 on 3/19/13 despite out-shooting them 34-19. And, it is imperative that St. Louis turn the ship if they want to make the playoffs coming into this contest. The Blues have lost back to back games after winning 6 straight including 1 goal in a 4 stretch span. They come off giving up 6 goals in just their last 2 games to the likes of Chicago and Columbus on the road and this is a bounce-back spot and a revenge game for a team that really needs this game. I like Vancouver comes off a big 5-2 win over Nashville on the road and this could be a let down spot for them here. The Blues are 40-19 coming off a day of rest and I like them in this spot today to bounce-back and avoid their 3rd straight loss and have revenge to boot as well.

The Orioles and Rays have already hooked up this year which makes this contest a bit more interesting. Baltimore took 2 of 3 from this team outscoring the Rays 20-15. We would have made this a 5* selection except for the fact that Tampa Bay comes off getting swept at the hands of Boston so they are likely not in a good mood as they come into this game. Plus, Hernandez has some revenge against the Rays from a poor quality start against them earlier this year giving up 4 runs in just under 7 innings. But, despite Hernandez having revenge, Baltimore is one of those teams that pitchers usually don't get revenge against given their potent lineup. Hernandez also has a 4-5 record with a 5.49 era lifetime against Baltimore as well with at least 5 batters having greater than a .270 batting average against him (minimum 5 at bats). Arrieta doesn't have a stellar record against Tampa Bay either for that matter, is 2-3 with over a 5.8era but this Rays lineup has changed. Currently, only 2 batters have over a .270 lifetime batting average against him and I suspect with the Orioles coming off a shutout loss tot he Yankees, despite Hernandez having revenge, I like Baltimore in a tight one here.

The Oilers catch Minnesota in a nice spot here after the Wild played last night in Calgary winning 4-3 while the Oilers lost in their last game at home 4-1 as a -200 home favorite to those same Flames in a flat effort. The Oilers fired their general manager after that loss and this will be the first game for Edmonton since that change so I wouldn't expect that same kind of effort in front of the new boss. Everything isn't going so well in Minnesota either with the team losing six of their seven games, the Wild have struggled to score goals being shutout in three of those losses. I think you will see a max effort from a rested Oilers team tonight while with Minnesota playing last night and this one marking their fourth in six nights they just might not be able to match the intensity here. Good value on the Oilers.

Ottawa game in Boston yesterday was canceled due to the tradigic events that unfolded yesterday. The Senators return home for the first time in the last six games to face a Carolina team that has beaten them twice already this year. Carolina has had their problems this year and will all short for a team that has as much talent as they have, like Carolina the Ottawa Senators have struggled with injuries but have overcome them to put themselves in the playoff picture but you have to look at how the team has played lately with the team only putting eleven shots on net but still winning in New Jersey and have scored three goals just once which was a empty net goal in their last seven games with losing five of those games. This price is too high for this team current state and they just might be in a flat spot coming off that long road trip.
