                          MLB

Pittsburgh (Gomez) at Milwaukee (Burgos) (-140) 1:10 PM ET

                          4% Milwaukee (Burgos) (-140) 5 IP

We won this matchup last night as a 5 IP play and that is exactly how I suggest you make your play this afternoon. This comes out of respect for the Pittsburgh bullpen, which despite their horrendous performance in Milwaukee this week, remains one of the best in baseball, certainly far better than that of Milwaukee. With a pair of victories to begin this series, Milwaukee is now 46-7 and 6-0 in the series at this site. In addition, those victories have now made it 9 consecutive overall in the series over which time the Brewers have totaled 71 runs. No team has played better than Milwaukee ontheir home field in the last 2+Y. The Brewers record is now 115-61 on this field including 8 straight. That is part of a recent 12-3 run by the Brewers (after a 2-8 start) which makes them among the hottest teams in baseball. Burgos has pitched a couple of solid starts recording a 3.27 ERA and 1.00 WHIP. With Sanchez being suspended and Liriano and Morton still rehabbing, Gomez is forced into this start. He was mediocre at best in several years at Cleveland and has a shaky 7/7 KBB this year. All signs point to Milwaukee again today with the best option being a 5 IP play.

LA Angels (Wilson) at Oakland (Milone) (-115) 3:35 PM ET
                          4% Oakland (Milone) (-115)

They keep pricing LAA as if they are better than Oakland. That is clearly not the case! The Angels are 9-17 for the season, 3-11 away and have lost 4 consecutive games. Oakland is 16-12 for the year, 9-7 at home with 3 consecutive wins. The last 2 of those are 10-8 and 10-6 wins vs. LAA to begin the week. That extends Oakland’s series dominance to 8-1 overall and 5-0 this year in which they have scored 48 runs. Though Wilson is 2-0, He features a 4.30 ERA and 1.53 WHIP. A solid history vs. Oakland is belied by his lone appearance vs. Oakland d this year in which Wilson allowed 4 runs in 6 IP of a 9-5 loss to the As. Again this season, Milone is pitching outstanding baseball from this mound. Milone is 2-1 with a 1.77 ERA in 3 home starts this season, including allowing no earned runs in 6 2/3 IP of his last outing against Baltimore. Play Oakland as the better team at a value price.

Boston (Buchholz) (-140) vs. Toronto (Buehrle) 7:05 PM ET

                          4% Boston (Buchholz) (-140)

The (5) 10* games in MLB today make up one of the strongest cards I have seen in more than 2 weeks in MLB. They are joined by all 3 NBA winners tonight. All games are fully analyzed giving you the confidence to maximize your winnings.

We lost this matchup last night when Jon Lester pitched his worst game of the season after a brilliant April. But the Red Sox still have the best record in MLB through April at 18-8. They are on current runs of 13-4 and 5-1 and stand 5-2/loss this season. Buchholz has been spectacular in going 5-0 with a 1.19 ERA, 1.01 WHIP and 39/13 KBB. His history from this mound is immaculate with a record of 6-0 and 1.27 ERA. Much less can be said about veteran Buehrle. For the season, Buehrle has posted a 6.35 ERA and 1.52 WHIP. In his previous outing, Buehrle allowed 3 home runs to the Yankees in a 5-3 loss. A mediocre, at best, history vs. Boston finds Buehrle to be 6-8 with a 4.64 lifetime ERA.

Chicago White Sox (Sale) at Texas (Tepesch) (-110) 8:05 PM ET
                          5% Texas (Tepesch) (-110)

This is today’s perception/reality game. The perception is that CWS starter, Chris Sale, is a highly rated pitcher based on his last season of work. Though Sale has been outstanding at home again this season, he has again struggled on the road where he is among the worst in baseball with a 7.94 road ERA. In his previous outing vs. Texas, Sale allowed 5 runs in 6 1/3 IP vs. the Rangers. We certainly can’t count on the CWS bats who have a .230 BA for the YTD to offer him support. And CWS is just 3-8 away on a 3 game losing streak. Far prefer the incredible value offered by the Rangers in this. Texas is 17-9 for the season, 8-2 on their home field. After scoring just 8 total runs in a 2-2 weekend split at Minnesota, the big Texas bats erupted for a buy sign with 10 runs last night. Tepesch has been outstanding as a replacement starter with a record of 2-1, 2.53 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 14/3 KBB.

Baltimore (Chen) (-125) at Seattle (Harang) 10:10 PM ET

                          5% Baltimore (Chen) (-125)

Baltimore is proving that their winning season of 2012 was not a mirage. Through April, they stand 16-11 including 9-6 away. Following a 6-2 loss on Monday, the Birds bounced back with a 7-2 win last night to boost their series record against Seattle to 8-1 and 6-1 on this field. Chen comes off 4 quality starts and sports a 2.53 ERA with 1.00 WHIP. In his previous 2 outings, he has allowed just 1 run in 14 IP. His most recent performance was 8 IP of scoreless ball in a 3-0 win vs. Oakland. Harang is trying to pitch himself into shape with horrendous results. For the season, Harang is 0-3 with an 11.37 ERA, 1.97 WHIP with a .362 BAA in 12 2/3 IP. At a short price on the road, we play the series dominator with a dominant pitching matchup.

                          NBA

Boston at NY Knicks (-8) 7:00 PM ET TNT
                          3% NY Knicks -8

The suspension of 6th Man of the Year JR Smith negatively impacted the Knicks in their Game #4 OT loss in Boston. Though NY stormed back from 20 points down at half time to force OT, they clearly missed the 18 points of Smith in a 97-90 defeat. Ironically, it was Boston’s 6th man Terry who keyed the Celtics victory with a pair of 3 pointers, timely foul shooting and a closing layup at the buzzer. Nonetheless, the realities are that Boston enters this game on negative runs of 6-14 SU, 6-13 ATS. Their offense clearly misses the leadership of PG Rondo at Playoff time. Garnett Pierce and the emerging Green are simply not enough to lead this offense which averaged 75 PPG in the first 3 games. The Knicks enter on runs of 19-3 SU, 18-4 ATS, lead this series 3 games to 1, but havethe motivation of the previous game loss. Look for the return of Smith to key a more explosive NY offense and the Knicks to emerge with a double digit victory in closing out the Celtics.

Atlanta at Indiana (-7) 8:00 PM ET NBA TV

                          4% Indiana -7

Atlanta made the necessary adjustments after losing their first 2 games of this series at this site by 17 and 15 points. It resulted in home court victories of 21 and 11 points in the last 2 games. That resulted when the Hawks went with the defense on the interior in starting Petro and moving Josh Smith to the 3. Those victories also lifted Atlanta to 13 straight on their home court vs. Indiana. But the home court is what this series has been all about this year. Including the regular season, the home team is 8-0 SU with Indiana’s victories on this court coming by 11, 6, 17 and 15 points. Returning home following a pair of double digit road losses, is a strong zig-zag situation for quality teams in the NBA Playoffs. Look for Indiana to make defensive adjustments of their own and take control of the series with a double digit home win.

Houston at OKC (-8-) 9:30 PM ET TNT

                          3% OKC -8-

The last 3 games of this series have looked nothing like Game #1 in which OKC blew out Houston, 120-91. But since the Westbrook injury in Game #2, OKC has survived Games #2 and #3 when Houston stormed back from being down by double digits, then fended off elimination with a 105-103 victory Monday night. Certainly looks as this has the potential to come down to the wire again as Houston’s 3 point shooting has improved each game of the series including 44% from behind the arc on Monday. But the technicals and the situation are enough to push me to the OKC side. Under HC Brooks, OKC has been the most resilient team in the NBA in recent seasons. That includes a record of 17-5 ATS/loss this season. In addition, must note the home court dominance of the Thunder which shows them to be 26-12 ATS as HF -6 or more this season. And the long term record of HC Brooks shows him to be 105-63 ATS when playing with revenge. Lets allow the situation and the strong home court of OKC to overcome the loss of Westbrook.
