2 UNIT = Toronto Blue Jays @ Tampa Bay Rays - BLUE JAYS TO WIN (+125)
    Listed Pitchers: Rogers vs Hellickson
(Note: I'm risking 2.00 units to win 2.50 units)

Tonight we take the hottest team in baseball as underdogs as the Blue Jays look to extend their winning streak to a franchise record 12 straight victories. Toronto has won 11 straight and 14 of their last 16 games overall to get above .500 for the first time all season, and jump past the Rays in the AL East standings. Toronto has scored 5 or more runs in 7 of their last 9 games including a 13-5 win yesterday over the Orioles. Tampa Bay split a 4 game set with the Yankees winning 3-1 yesterday afternoon. They are just 3-5 in their last 8 games though and have dropped to 5th in the AL East. These two teams have faced 7 times so far this year with Toronto winning 4 of those games. The Jays will send Esmil Rogers to the mound for his 5th start of the year. As a starter he is 2-0 with a 1.71 ERA, .200 OBA and 0.95 WHIP. Over his last three starts he has allowed just 4 earned runs while striking out 12 and walking just 3 batters. He pitched 3 innings of work against Tampa Bay back on May 21st allowing 2 hits and 0 earned runs. The Rays will go with Jeremy Hellickson who has had a very up and down season with a 5-3 record, 5.50 ERA, .270 OBA and 1.25 WHIP. In June he is 3-1 but has a high 5.16 ERA, and batters are hitting .316 against him in the month. He has faced Toronto twice getting a no decision in each but the Rays lost both of those games. He has given up 5 earned runs in 13 innings worked against the Jays this year. Note that the Blue Jays are 6-0 in their last 6 as a road underdog, 5-0 in their last 5 road games overall, and 4-0 in Esmil Rogers' 4 starts this year. The Rays are 1-4 in their last 5 home games, just 4-11 in Hellickson's last 15 starts as a favorite between -110 and -150, and 1-4 in his last 5 starts vs the Jays. This should be a good game tonight but I will go with the Blue Jays who have won 11 straight behind a solid starting pitcher at a generous underdog price.

                    5* Cleveland (Jimenez) (+115)
Cleveland has been a streaky team. Following an 18-5 run up, they went 5-16 before responding with their current 8-3 run. This strong streak has been keyed by the starters who have a 2.67 ERA in these 11 games. Jimenez has been part of that uptick pitching his best baseball in recent memory. In his last 10 starts, Jimenez is 5-2 with a 3.04 ERA. Jimenez has been at his best on the road this season with a record of 3-1 and 2.77 ERA. Baltimore is now favored at home following a 6 game road trip at Detroit and Toronto. That is a situation we usually like to fade. Over the weekend, Baltimore dropped a trio to Toronto being outscored 24-13. In his 2nd game since AAA call up, Britton allowed just 1 run on 5 hits in 5 1/3 IP of a 5-2 win vs. Detroit. But for the season, Britton has a 5.56 ERA, 1.76 WHIP and upside down 3/5 KBB. Stay with the hotter teams and more consistent pitcher as underdog.

MLB underdogs a hot bet the last four days

Major League Baseball underdogs are a very profitable 32-25 over the last four days.

There are only four games on the MLB schedule for bettors to choose from Monday. The Cleveland Indians (+119), Toronto Blue Jays (+118), San Francisco Giants (+101) and San Diego Padres (+102) are the dogs on the board.

The Blue Jays are an incredible 8-0 in their last eight games as an underdog and the Friars are 6-0 in their last six games as a home pup.

MLB dogs are 485-632 (43%) this season according to our League Trends page.

Are favored Bruins in big trouble if Bergeron doesn't play?

Heading into Game 6 of the Stanley Cup finals tonight Chicago Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews faces an upper-body injury while Boston Bruins center Patrice Bergeron faces only what the B's will call a 'body' injury.

Toews skated this morning and is probable while Bergeron remains questionable.

So how should bettors handicap this?

"Yesterday we did see a five-cent move (from Boston -125 to -120) with word that Toews was upgraded to probable and Bergeron downgraded to doubtful," says Covers Expert and avid hockey bettor Sean Murphy.

Both players are huge for their teams, but Murphy says if Bergeron doesn't play it hurts the Bruins more.

"You can argue that (Bergeron's) their best all-around player and there's no question he's one of the best face-off men in hockey. Already without Gregory Campbell, losing another two-way forward would hurt.

"Toews is playing well right now, so his absence would be felt, but not to the same extent as Bergeron in my opinion."

Boston's Brad Marchand pointed out that Bergeron's absence might be felt more on the defensive side, even though the shifty center ranks second in playoff scoring with nine goals and two game winners. Interestingly, the total opened at 4.5 and was still there at most books by mid-day Monday.

"He does everything right, basically," Bergeron's linemate said. "He's such a great face-off guy and it really gives us the opportunity to start with the puck a lot. He's very tough to play against defensively, and he's been doing a very good job at playing against their top guys."
