The Bruins try to extend their season for one more game when they host the Blackhawks in Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Finals on Monday night.

Chicago sent Boston to the brink of elimination with a 3-1 victory in Game 5, marking its first regulation win this series. Patrick Kane scored two goals in the victory where his team held a 32-25 shots advantage (24-14 after first period), won 58% of the faceoffs (33-of-57) and didn't allow a single power-play chance. The only negative for the Blackhawks on Saturday night is that they lost captain C Jonathan Toews (1 G, 2 A in past two games) for the third period because of an upper-body injury suffered when his head hit the ice. He's questionable to play on Monday. The Bruins may also be without a star player, as C Patrice Bergeron (9 G, 6 A in playoffs) suffered an injury on Saturday that also has him questionable for Game 6. Although the Blackhawks won Game 4 at TD Garden, they are just 4-5 on the road this postseason, while Boston is 8-3 at home. The Bruins have also been tough to beat after playing a road game this season, going 24-9 (73%). The pick here is BOSTON to win on its home ice.

Blackhawks goalie Corey Crawford (15-7, 1.83 GAA, .932 Sv Pct. in playoffs) played outstanding in Game 5, saving 24-of-25 shots. That improves his numbers to 2.09 GAA and .926 Sv Pct. in his first ever Stanley Cup Finals series. But Crawford has not been as sharp on the road in the postseason, posting a 2.31 GAA in these nine away games. RW Patrick Kane is in the midst of a stellar series with five points (3 G, 2 A) in the five games. Two other Blackhawks have multiple goals, C Dave Bolland (2 G, 2 A) and C Patrick Sharp (2 G, 0 A), who has a team-high 29 shots on goal. He also has the club's only power-play goal in the Cup Finals, as Chicago is 1-for-17 (6%) on the power play this series. In terms of plus-minus rating, the top players have been LW Bryan Bickell and D Duncan Keith (+5 rating each). Bickell has a team-high-tying three assists, while Keith has been the workhorse with a 33:30 average ice time. RW Marian Hossa has been in and out of the lineup due to injury, which is a big reason why he has zero goals on 22 shots during this series.

Bruins netminder Tuukka Rask (14-7, 1.83 GAA, .941 Sv Pct. in playoffs) started off the series red-hot, saving 120-of-125 shots (.960 Sv Pct.) in Games 1-4, but he has been shaky in the past two games, allowing eight goals on just 78 shots (.897 Sv Pct.). But before allowing six tallies in Game 4, Rask had been excellent at home in the playoffs, saving 135-of-137 shots (.985 Sv Pct.) in the previous four games at TD Garden. The potential absence of C Patrice Bergeron looms large, since he leads the B's with four goals in this series and is the only Bruins player with more than 15 shots on goal in the series, putting 20 shots on net. LW Daniel Paille has had a strong series with two goals, both game-winners, on just nine shots on net. LW Milan Lucic has the team lead in points for the Stanley Cup Finals with five (3 G, 2 A), while C David Krejci (0 G, 4 A) and D Zdeno Chara (1 G, 3 A) have four points each. Krejci is coming off a rough Game 5 where he recorded a minus-2 rating and lost 11-of-13 faceoffs. Chara had the club's lone goal on Saturday, but was also a minus-2 rating, dropping him to a woeful minus-4 rating for the series. D Dennis Seidenberg (31:26 avg. ice time) and Chara (30:53 avg. ice time) continue to play a ton of minutes. The Bruins need to draw some penalties on Monday night, as they are an excellent 4-for-14 (29%) on the power play this series. However, Bergeron has three of those goals with the man advantage. Boston had more than twice as many hits (53) as Chicago (22) in the Game 5 loss, with five players delivering at least five hits -- Lucic (eight), D Adam McQuaid (six), Krejci (five), D Andrew Ference (five) and D Johnny Boychuk (five). Boychuk was responsible for injuring the Blackhawks captain Toews.
