Where the action is: Public pushes Monday spread three points
The Falcons welcome the Jets to Atlanta for Monday Night Football. We talk to sportsbooks about the action coming in on this Week 5 finale:
New York Jets at Atlanta Falcons – Open: -7.5, Move: -10.5, Move: -10
Books opened the Falcons as low as 7.5-point home favorites, and have been the public choice since post. Atlanta has jumped as many as three points at some books, with both public and sharp money on the home team.
According to Mike Perry of Sportsbook.com, 72 percent of the action for this game is on Atlanta, pushing the spread through the key number of -10. However, once the spread got to 10.5, money came back on New York, buying up the inflated underdog.
As for the total, the number opened at 44 points and dropped a bit to 43.5 before money came back on the Over and has the over/under sitting as high as 44.5 at some books. Like most Monday games, the public sides with the favorite and the Over, and Week 5 is no different.Comment
