Your free pick for Thursday, October 10th, 2013, comes in college football out West as Arizona and USC meet. This is a TOP PLAY so be sure to get this play in ASAP!
Arizona had some great defensive numbers…until they finally played a pro style offense, off a 31-13 defeat to Washington. Now they face another pro style attack and the over is 20-8 in the Wildcats last 28 games on grass, as well as 7-2 over the total in PAC 12 games.
USC changes coaches after giving up 62 points to Arizona State. Was it coaching? Or talent? Well, this team struggled on defense all of last season, as well.
The over is 18-7-2 in the Trojans last 27 home games vs. a team with a winning road record and 11-4 in Trojans last 15 games in October. Play Arizona/USC over the total (48) for $500

CASHED NL GAME OF WEEK ST LOUIS 6-1: We cashed another Big Game of the Week winner on Wednesday as St Louis won 6-1 as our National League Game of the Week. Don't ever call me a Homer as we went against my Pittsburgh Pirates. In fact we went 4-1 in that series proving once again no one knows Pittsburgh Sports better than we do.
I'm backing the Detroit Tigers on Thursday night. Detroit sends Justin Verlander to the hill tonight. The Tiger righty has been spectacular of late, throwing 19 innings of shutout baseball over his last three starts, allowing just 18 base runners with 33 strikeouts, an average of 15.63 Ks for every 9 innings of work. He completely shut down the A's on Saturday and he's allowed Oakland just 2 earned runs and 17 base runners with 33 strikeouts in three playoff starts against them since last postseason, spanning 23 innings of work. Oakland will counter with Sonny Gray. The rookie gets the nod over Bartolo Colon. Gray held the Tigers in check in last Saturday's 1-0 Tiger win. That was the first time he had faced Detroit, obviously an advantage for the hurler. But I expect Detroit to get to Gray enough to give Verlander a lead now that the lineup has had a few looks at him. Thanks to Jhonny Peralta & Victor Martinez, the Tigers finally looked like themselves last time out and I expect Detroit to continue the momentum tonight. The Tigers are 6-2 in Verlander's last eight starts against the A's, while Oakland has won just 4 of their last 13 playoff contests. I'm backing the Tigers on Thursday night. Thanks & GL! Game: San Jose at Vancouver (10:00 PM Eastern)
Pick: Game Total UNDER 5.5 (-119) at BetOnline
These clubs are both off to good starts with 6 wins and just 1 loss between them. The Sharks have been great on the back side of the ice, as they have allowed three opponents a grand total of 4 goals on the season. They will head to Vancouver, and the Canucks have been doing some defending of their own, as they have killed all 15 power-play opportunities this season. The Sharks have packed their "D" for road games, as they are 8-1-3 to the UNDER in their last 12. The Canucks have played defensive at home where they are 6-1-1 to the UNDER. This series has seen just one of the last six make it over the total, and this one isn't likely to get there either. Make the play on the UNDER.
