GamingToday’s Consensus Picks October 21, 2013 6:39 AM by GT Staff
NFL Monday Night Football
424 New York Giants -3½: Brother Manning took his first loss of the season last night against the Colts losing a wild game 39-33. This has been the worst streak that Eli has been in since he came to the NFL. This is the game to try and turn the season around and if anyone can get the job done it will be Eli tonight as he has gone 7-2 SU and ATS at home when coming off a loss and facing a team that is under .500 and the Vikes fit the bill and the Giants have gone 5-1 SU and ATS as a favorite on Monday nights when favored by a TD or less.
NHL Hockey
1 San Jose Sharks -115: The Sharks are living up to their name this year as they are skating and scoring in bunches, we will lay the small number on the road.
4 Pittsburgh Penguins -165: The Pens have won 4 straight games and look to continue the streak in this their next to last game at home on this stand before heading to Canada.
6 Los Angeles Kings -220 (parlays only): We will just use this game as part of parlays as we don’t like to lay this high a number in a straight bet even though it is a great play as the Kings are almost unbeatable at home.
Pro Football Play of the Day October 21, 2013 6:31 AM by GT Staff
NFL Monday Night Football
Minnesota Vikings at New York Giants (Total 47½) at 5:40 p.m. PST
The Minnesota Vikings have played five games so far this year going 1-4 and that lone win came against the Steelers in London, England out scoring Pittsburgh 34-27 and that was the most points that the Steelers scored in any game all season. In the five games that Minnesota has played all five have gone over the listed total. The Giants have gone over the total in their last two games as they come into this Monday night contest still seeking victory No. 1, you can bet that Tom Coughlin will be pulling all shots to get a needed win at home on Monday under the Monday night lights.
423 Minnesota Vikings / 424 New York Giants OVER 47½
My 60 Dime selection is on the Giants over the Vikings. The current line on this game is 3 1/2 in Vegas and offshore. I advise buying the 1/2 point (-140) and only laying -3.
The bottom line here is that I have the Vikings as the slightly better team, and I like the QB change from a mental standpoint. The Giants aren’t going to lose them all, but I will bet against them breaking through here. The Vikings plus the points are the play.
