Of equal importance is that Jeromie Hill (knee), their 6’8” all-conference player, will not play again tonight. He averaged 13/7 last year. Opening night, the Roadrunners lost as 7 point home favorite, 74-63 to N. Arizona. Must continue to fade them with a Houston team who under 4th year HC Dickey has built with 3 RS following their 20 win season of last. Already defeating Texas St. and Texas PanAm, look for the Cougars to get the Texas Triple and easily handle an injured and rebuilding UTSA team.

Is first year TTRR HC, Tubby Smith, really that good? We know he has a national title with Kentucky and that he was a consistent winner at Minnesota. The first two games out of the gate, Smith has guided his Red Raiders to a pair of 15 and 20 point home victories. That is a big confidence boost for a team with 4RS who had just 19 victories in the past two seasons. Having coached in the Big 10, Tubby will have his team ready for the rough and tumble style of Alabama. But, the Crimson Tide are a team who under 5th
year HC Anthony Grant, may struggle with the new rule changes. It certainly showed in the opener when Grant’s Tide team, normally a
Defensive Dandy, allowed 82 to Oklahoma in a 9 point loss. Must continue to fade the Tide who under Grant is 7-18 ATS as home favorite L3Y.

The Knicks stormed back in the 4th quarter last night for a 95-91 road victory at Atlanta. It cost us a rare Top Play loss in the NBA. Further north, the Rockets were losing 123-117 in OT against the surprising Sixers. Look for the reversal tonight as the loss of NY Big Man Chandler is impossible to compensate against the likes of Dwight Howard. Rockets the right side in this ebb and flow NBA game.

Pure momentum play on the Thundering Herd. Oh, how the mighty have fallen. Last year, Tulsa was 11-3 SU, 9-5 ATS. They beat Marshall 45-38 as 3 point road chalk. This year, they are 2-7 SU, 1-8 ATS, losers of 3 straight clearly underperforming on both sides of the ball. After a sub 500 season last year, Marshall is 6-3 SU ATS including 4-1 SU in league play, battling ECU for the division crown in CUSA-East. The offense, led by QB Cato, has averaged 52 PPG in their L3 outings. Lone rejoinder, aside from the over adjustment in the line, is the 0-7 ATS road chalk record of Marshall HC Holliday.
