                    Friday, November 22

Kansas State ia 2-2, losing to Northern Colorado/Charlotte; they made only 5-26 from arc yesterday, with two guards playing 37-39 minutes. Now they meet Georgetown club that that was outscored 38-20 in 2nd half yesterday, after leading by 11 at half. Hoyas have a starter who did not take a shot, but played 18:00. Big East favorites are 10-6 vs spread.

Charlotte was 20-29 from line, had 17 offensive boards in its win over K-State; no 49er played more than 33:00. Northeastern lost first couple games to America East teams (Boston U by 3, Stony Brook by 7), but beat Georgetown by 7, despite missing 13 foul shots (20-33). C-USA favorites are 6-4 vs spread. CAA underdogs are 7-6 against spread.

Florida State hammered VCU by 18, holding Rams to 29% from floor; they won first four games by 24-12-28-18 points, despite turning ball over 25.7% of time. Three Michigan guys played 34:00+ in its easy win over Long Beach, but McGary only play 14:00. Wolverines made 14-30 from arc yesterday. No Seminole played more than 32:00 vs VCU.

VCU forced turnovers on 29.1% of possessions in winning three of first four games by 38-3-21 points, but they struggled to score vs FSU and you can't press if you don't score; Long Beach State is young and in trouble against this schedule, losing last four games by 34-1-13-24, after beating an NAIA team. Big West road underdogs are 5-11 vs spread.

UAB lost in double OT yesterday; five guys played 35+ minutes, two played 46+; Rucker had 14 boards, 7 assists but was 3-21 from floor. Is going to be tough game to bounce back from. Nebraska lost 96-90 but no one played more than 29:00 in game with 82 FTs, 35 offensive boards. UAB is in bottom 5 in country so far at forcing turnovers.

UMass is 4-0 with three top 90 wins and they've scored 85+ points in all four games; Minutemen have four starters back from a 21-12 team; vs Nebraska, UMass played three guys 31:00+- they made 33-43 FTs, hit 55% inside arc. Clemson is 4-0, beating So Carolina/Temple in last two games, holding teams to 50.8 ppg, 19% from arc, 37% inside it. Davidson is 1-3 after it beat Georgia 94-82 Thursday; Wildcats had lost by 34-4-13 points, and two of those three were vs Duke/Virginia, so another ACC opponent is not going to phase them. Problem is, SoCon dogs are 3-15 vs spread.

LMU scored 85 ppg in 4-0 start, but all vs teams ranked outside the top 200; Lions are forcing turnovers 22.5% of time, making just 25% from arc. Vandy lost all 5 starters from LY; they made 5-16 from arc, had 19 TOs at Butler, are shooting just 61.7% from line so far.

Indiana whacked Washington 102-84 last nite; they're 5-0, have grabbed 47.6% of rebounds on own misses (#5 in US), are scoring 94 ppg and do not have great shooting %'s- only two kids played more than 29:00 last nite. UConn is 5-0, with 1 and 2-point wins; they've made 47.8% from arc, played three kids 32+ minutes, will have big crowd edge in this one.

Southern Miss is 3-0 with wins at DePaul/North Dakota State; they've turned ball over 25% of time, but forced TO's 26%-- they won last three games with South Alabama by 12+ points, but USA has new coach now, is 1-1 vs D-I teams, losing by 7 at Texas- they've turned ball over 20.7% of time.
