2-Unit Play. #549 Take Loyola Marymount (+3) over Northern Iowa (1:30 p.m., Friday,
November 22)
It may not be by a lot of points but oddsmakers favored the wrong team. LMU has started the
season nicely at 4-0. We've already bet them twice, and last time out they missed covering a
very modest line of -1.5 by winning by a single point. Here the Lions finally cash a ticket for us,
beating a Panthers team as the small dog. Loyola has the best player on the court in Anthony
Ireland and the rest of his team is pretty good as well. That's pretty much it. I think Loyola
Marymount is the better team and they should have been favored. They prove that with a win in
this one.
2-Unit Play. #557 Take Toledo (+1.5) over Stony Brook (4:30 p.m., Friday, November 22)
Give me the Rockets here. One of the favorites for the MAC will do well to see off a good
American East program. Toledo has four of its top five scorers back from last season and they
won't have a problem putting the ball in the basket this year. Better team from the better
conference and a proven squad at that. Go with Toledo over Stony Brook.
2-Unit Play. #573 Take Houston Baptist (+15.5) over Wright State (5 p.m., Friday, November
22)
Wright State is an average college basketball team and shouldn't really be laying this many points,
especially on a neutral court. By principle alone I will take Houston Baptist. The Huskies played to
this number at Texas Tech, so I think they can stay within single digits against the Raiders in
Kansas City, Missouri.
2-Unit Play. #531 Take Bradley (+17) over Arizona State (9 p.m., Friday, November 22)
Arizona State has a good team, but I don't think they should be favored by this many against a
quality Bradley team just the same. The Sun Devils have only played one legit opponent and they
earned a single digit victory over them last time out when ASU played UNLV. I think the Braves
can score in he 70s here and keep this one close. They have two really good players in Walt
Lemon Jr. and Tyshon Pickett. Several D-I transfers will boost Bradley's scoring depth, and while
Arizona State has Jahil Carson, I still really like the points here and say the underdog covers in
Tempe.
2-Unit Play. #591 Take LIU Brooklyn (+10) over UC Irvine (11 p.m., Friday, November 22)
Give me the points and Long Island over the Irvine. The Blackbirds lost by just one point at
Indiana in their last game and I think they can do everything include win over this UCI team. This
is a match-up in the 2K Sports Classic, so it is a neutral court game and I am not so sure the Big
West favorites should be laying this heavy of a number. Take the spread and the NEC underdogs.
