                                IOWA 31 - Michigan 13 - (12:00 EDT) --
Line opened at Iowa minus 3½, and is now minus 6½. As we noted on

Pointwise, the Hawkeyes stand at 6-4 SU, with their only losses coming against teams with a combined
SU record of 37-3. This one sets up nicely for Iowa, for not only are they rested off their bye

week, but they catch the underachieving Wolves in a perfect sandwich situation, namely coming off a
heart-stopping OT win over Northwestern, and with none other than OhioSt looming next week.
Michigan's offense is sputtering, scoring 6, 13, & 27 pts (18 in OT LW), in their last 3 games (mere 25
RYpg in those 3). Now Wolves must face Iowa's #12, #9, #12 ranked passing, rushing, scoring "D"s.

Bowling Green 48 - EASTERN MICHIGAN 6 - (1:00) -- Line opened at BowlingGreen minus 24, and is now minus 24½.
Don't want to jinx it, but the MAC has been extremely good to us this season, with the powers taking
care of business, with regularity. They enter this contest off a combined 104-3 pt edge in their last 2
outings (+57½ pt ATS). One of those victims was Miami-Ohio (45-3 romp), & a check of our
PowerRatings shows that MU just about the equal of these 2-8 Eagles. Led by QB Johnson (14/5,

2,308 passing yds, 66%) & RB Green (1,167 yds), no reason for the Falcons to be contained by EM's
120th-ranked defense. BG is 7-0 ATS as a road chalk. EM is on a 3-11 run, as well as 8-18 at home.

Navy 41 - SAN JOSE STATE 31 - (9:30 Friday) -- Line opened at SanJoseSt minus 3, and is now minus 2. The Middies
are rarely down for long, proving it with their current 5-game run in which they've averaged 36.8 ppg,
as well as 341 RYpg. Their only SU loss in this streak, was a 45-44 OT setback at potent Toledo.

Last week, they disposed of highly competitive SoAlabama, 42-14 (21-pt cover) by scoring the game's
final 32 pts. The Spartans haven't been able to contain anyone in lined games this year (34.6 ppg)
ranking 101st in rushing defense (311-58 RY deficit last outing). The Mids take full advantage.

                                Wisconsin 48 - MINNESOTA 13 - (3:30) -- Line opened at Wisconsin minus 14½, and is now minus 15. Methodical &
relentless, the Badgers make their way onto this publication once again. A week ago, we had our
apprehensions, as, despite its weekly dominating play, Wisconsin had to cover a 25-pt spread vs an
Indiana team which entered with the nation's 9th & 10th rated total (525 ypg) & scoring (43 ppg)
offenses. Not to worry. A 51-3 pummeling, with a 450-yd edge! We respect the achievements of
these Gophers, with current 4-0 SU & ATS runs, but bucking Badgers is a proven futility.

Duke 34 - WAKE FOREST 13 - (12:00) -- Line opened at Duke minus 5½, and is now minus 5. This may not appear as
the spot jump on the streaking Devils, off their epic comeback win over Miami (358-186 RY edge & 28
unanswered pt windup) but that could have been said of Duke, in each of its last 7 contests. It's
obvious by now that words like "letdown" & "sandwich" just don't apply to this year's edition. The

rested Deacons have a 72-3 pt deficit in their last 2 outings (-30½ pts ATS), & are faced with the task
of winning both of their remaining gms. But highly unlikely (Vandy next week). Opposite directions..

                                RATING: DUKE 88
