        INDIAN COWBOY
3-Unit Play. #571. Take Louisiana Monroe +16.5 over Louisiana State (Saturday @ 8pm est).
Louisiana Monroe is led by Ongwae, James, Olatayo and Williams - all 4 upperclassman who will
get up for this game against the big named school in the state. For LSU, they probably will not
get up for this game considering they have much bigger fish down the road including Texas Tech
on the road in their next game. This is the same LA Monroe team that lost to Kansas 80-63 and I
am high on them this year whenever they get a chance to play bigger named schools. The value
of this team if they can hang in against Kansas as they face LSU on the road is worthwhile and
note that LSU has a tendency to have turnovers as they outside the top 275 in turnover
percentage whereas LA Monroe is top 75 in both offensive and defensive efficiency given their
senior laden team. I think LA Monroe will give LSU trouble most of this evening and this is a good
public fade in general but with a senior laden team, a team that has already played at Kansas and
done reasonable well, I believe they can hang tough here against LSU who comes off a big win
overtime win against Butler and in for a bit of a let down likely. The Warhawks to their credit are
        5-0 in their last 5 non-conference games.

          ALLEN EASTMAN
          5-Unit Play. Take #526 Valparaiso (-10.5) over Loyola Marymount (2 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 14)
This one is my Game of the Week and I think Valpo will have another blowout here. They have
won games by wide margins recently including a 19-point win at Ball State. Loyola Marymount is
not a very strong team. They are 1-4 ATS in their last five games and have lost to some very
weak teams like Vanderbilt and Northern Iowa. LMU is coming off a 17-point loss at Pittsburgh and
I think that the visiting Lions will get blown out here. Valparaiso has revenge for a loss on the
road against LMU last February. They will not take this game lightly. Valparaiso is 4-0 ATS in their
last four games and they are hot right now. They are also 36-16 ATS in their last 52 games after
a loss and I think that the Crusaders will bounce back nicely after falling in a close game to St.
Louis last week. This will be another blowout for the home team and I expect Valparaiso to cash
          this ticket for me!

          3-Unit Play. Take #553 Kentucky (+4.5) over North Carolina (5 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 14)
I will take the points in this matchup. These games are always close when these rivals play. I
think that Kentucky can steal the outright win in Chapel Hill. This Kentucky team is big and it is
talented. Kentucky's star freshmen will be ready to rise to the occasion here. The Wildcats have
had the better of the recent meetings, winning the last two in 2011 Tournament and then in the
winter of the 2011-12 season. North Carolian is favored because they are at home. But Kentucky
has experience playing in hostile environments and will be fine. I think that this one comes down
to the wire and I think that Kentucky will pull out the outright winner. I will take the points.

          3-Unit Play. Take #583 Utah (+2) over BYU (8 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 14)
This is the basketball version of the Holy War. These two teams are big rivals and I am going with
the home team here. I think that the home court will play a big role and that Utah will get some
favorable calls in this one. Matt Carlino, BYU's star guard, is nursing a leg injury and BYU doesn't
have the depth to replace him. Utah is unbeaten at home this year and the Utes are 24-9 ATS in
their last 33 home games. BYU is 7-15 ATS on the road and Utah has revenge for losing seven
straight times to their rivals. This is a bigger game for the home team

2-Unit Play. #536 Wichita State -6 over the Tennessee Volunteers (Dec 14 @ 2pm ET)
Coach Cuonzo Martin goes back to familiar territory today as he takes his Tennessee Vols into Wichita to take on the Shockers.

Martin use to coach in the Missouri Valley before he took over
at Tennessee and he knows how tough it is going on the road to take on Wichita State.
Tennessee has started the season 6-2 with their losses coming in their tougher games against
Xavier and UTEP. The Vols really haven't played that tough of a schedule to start the season, but
that changes today as they take on 12th ranked Wichita State. The Vols are led by Jordan McRae
and Jarnell Stokes who are averaging 18.8 and 14.9 points per game respectively. Wichita State
has gotten off to an impressive 9-0 start with great wins on a neutral site against BYU and on the
road against Saint Louis. The Shockers are coming off a Final Four season and they look to make
another run this season in the tournament.Wichita State isn't playing this game on their true
home court, but they will obviously have the home crowd advantage playing in Wichita. Ron Baker
has gotten off to a nice start averaging 15.3 points per game on 51 percent shooting, but this
Shocker offense is spread around with little discrimination. Wichita State is looking to pick up
another resume building win today against Tennessee and given how well this team has looked I
would be surprised to see them struggle against the Vols. Take Wichita State at -6 here.

2-Unit Play. #542 Indiana Hoosiers -4.5 over the Notre Dame Fighting Irish (Dec 14 @ 3:15pm
                  ET)
Notre Dame will look to pick up the pieces and avoid back-to-back setbacks when it faces Indiana
at Indianapolis on Saturday. The Fighting Irish were held to 35.7 percent shooting by the Bison
and will be going up against a Hoosiers squad that's excelling on the defensive end of late. Indiana
is allowing an average of 59.2 points in its last five contests. Notre Dame is an experienced squad
led by upperclassmen Jerian Grant, Eric Atkins, Garrick Sherman and Pat Connaughton. The
Fighting Irish are about to begin their first season in the ACC but first have to get through
another rough stretch with dates against the Hoosiers and Ohio State coming the next eight
days. The Irish have played some far less superior opponents and have had trouble putting them
away or playing in close games with them. They now hit the road to take on a stingy defensive
squad in Indiana and the way the Irish have been playing lately Indiana will bring out those true
bad colors of the Irish today. Take the home team at -4.5 here.

3-Unit Play. #505. Take Cleveland Cavaliers +12.5 over Miami Heat (Saturday @ 7:30pm est)

I'm not a huge fan of Miami coming off a loss to rival Indiana, but nevertheless, this is worth it for us to take. Cleveland is starting to turn things around and their type of wins against quality teams is evident of late. Remember, Miami beat this team by 11 on the road when the Cavs were not playing well and covered the 8.5. Now, they face the Cavs at home coming off a loss but Cleveland has added several impressive wins to its resume of late. Cleveland is winners of 5 of 6 contests including beating Denver by 10 at home, the Bulls by 4 at home, beating the Clippers and Knicks and most recently defeating Orlando by 9 on the road as 2 point underdogs. The team is 5-1 of late and I like them to continue to play well with revenge against Miami today. Miami typically bounces back against losses but with the revenge factor in mind and Cleveland having turned things around, it's always about motivation for us and I like with the revenge, the Heat are 1-4 ATS of late against Eastern Conference foes and the Cavs have always done well in Miami as heavy underdogs as they are 7-2 ATS in their last 9 meetings in Miami.

Indian Cowboy's Picks For NHL Hockey

3-Unit Play. #17. Take Under 5.5 Goals Carolina vs. Phoenix (Saturday @ 8pm est).

The last time these two teams met the final score was 5-3 and this is a revenge game for Carolina. I suspect Carolina will make the changes and avoid giving up 5 goals as they did to Phoenix last time out and I like them to step up defensively here. Note, on this road trip their defense has been strong giving up 2, 5, and 2 goals to Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver and they face a Phoenix team that comes off scoring 6 goals in their against the Islanders. The last time Phoenix scored 6 goals was against Edmonton on the road and they came back to have a let down scoring 1 goal against Calgary in their next game. So, with the revenge that Carolina has in mind, getting up defensively and avoiding giving up 5 goals like their last meeting and Phoenix on a let down today, look for this game to be sub 5.5 goals. The Under is 6-1-1 for the Hurricanes when their opponent scores 5 goals or more in their previous game and the Under is 5-2-3 for the Hurricanes when they face a team with a winning record.

Kentucky at North Carolina: What bettors need to know

Kentucky Wildcats at North Carolina Tar Heels (-4, 147)

Kentucky’s young team fell in both of its previous chances against a more experienced, ranked opponent. The No. 10 Wildcats will get another chance when they visit No. 21 North Carolina on Saturday in a battle between two of the most storied programs in college basketball. The Tar Heels own a pair of losses, but have plenty of experience knocking off top-10 teams with triumphs over Louisville and then-No. 1 Michigan State already on the resume.

Kentucky’s fabulous freshmen are maturing at different speeds, with Julius Randle and James Young the most consistent through the early schedule. “The mental aspect of getting yourself ready every day,” Randle said about the college experience being more difficult. “It’s not high school or AAU where you can take days off. You have to be ready to compete every day.” North Carolina is surging behind sophomore guard Marcus Paige, who will be dueling with the Wildcats’ Harrison twins on the perimeter.

                          TV: 5:15 p.m. ET, ESPN

ABOUT KENTUCKY (8-2): Sophomore center Willie Cauley-Stein is the only non-freshman in the Wildcats’ starting lineup and is making his presence felt at the defensive end. “I think I just found more blocks,” Cauley-Stein said after swatting away nine in a 70-55 win over Boise State on Tuesday. “I know what I have to do now. Last year I was in between what I was trying to do and this year I (am) just running around and blocking every shot that I can.” Randle and Cauley-Stein are combining for an average of 19.7 rebounds to provide a strong interior presence.

ABOUT NORTH CAROLINA (6-2): The Tar Heels fell to Belmont at home on Nov. 17 and lost at Alabama-Birmingham on Dec. 1 but showed no fear in beating Louisville and Michigan State by a combined 23 points. North Carolina is in the middle of final exams but Paige was not worried about the team not being ready. “Guys are still finding ways to get in the gym,” he told reporters. "We’ll have had two full practices. ... If we get our rest and come (Friday) with the mindset to have a great practice, I don’t think it’ll be much of a problem.”

                          TRENDS:

                          * Under is 4-0-1 in the last five meetings.
                          * Wildcats are 3-13-1 ATS in their last 17 vs. Atlantic Coast.
                          * Tar Heels are 4-1 ATS in their last five games overall.
                          * Under is 4-1 in Tar Heels last five overall.

                          TIP-INS:

                          1. North Carolina G P.J. Hairston and G Leslie McDonald will miss their ninth straight game due to an ongoing NCAA investigation.

                          2. Kentucky is struggling at 32.5 percent from 3-point range and 67 percent at the free-throw line.

                          3. The Tar Heels have taken six of the last nine meetings, though the Wildcats claimed a 73-72 triumph in the most recent matchup on Dec. 3, 2011.

Kings at Senators: What bettors need to know

Los Angeles Kings at Ottawa Senators (+117, 5)

Martin Jones has not been perfect in his brief NHL career, but he's been close enough and is a big reason why the surging Los Angeles Kings carry a five-game winning streak into Saturday's game against the host Ottawa Senators. Jones has won his first four starts - two by shutout - and is coming off a 38-save performance in a 3-1 victory at Toronto on Wednesday. "I try not to think about that too much," Jones said. "It's not like I'm getting called upon to steal games here."

Ottawa's Craig Anderson has struggled to regain his form from last season, when he led the league in save percentage (.941) and goals-against average (1.69). He took a big step in that direction by matching his season high with 40 saves in Thursday's 2-1 win over Buffalo, giving him back-to-back victories for the first time since Oct 17 and Oct. 23. "Our goaltender obviously made a conscious decision that he was going to be competitive and gave us a chance to win," Senators coach Paul MacLean said.

ABOUT THE KINGS (21-7-4): Los Angeles, which is making the third stop on a four-game road trip, is 12-1-4 in its last 17 games - the majority coming since starting netminder Jonathan Quick was injured. Ben Scrivens went 6-1-3 after Quick was hurt before Jones continued the sensational play in net for the Kings, who haven't allowed more than two goals in 17 straight games. "Defense is always first on our minds," defenseman Drew Doughty said. "We're the hardest-working team defensively, and that's why we don't give up much."

ABOUT THE SENATORS (13-14-6): Defenseman Cody Ceci, a first-round draft pick in 2012 and an Ottawa native, acquitted himself well in his NHL debut, registering a plus-2 rating and seeing more than 20 minutes of ice time against the Sabres. The 6-3, 209-pound Ceci, who will turn 20 on Dec. 21, was pleased that MacLean had the confidence to put him on the ice to kill a penalty in the final two minutes of the contest. "That meant a lot for them to do that, to put the game in my hands, I guess, and to have me out there," Ceci said.
