4 Unit Play. #529 Take Syracuse Orange -4 over Villanova Wildcats (1 pm CBS) A battle of unbeatens takes place on Saturday at the Carrier Dome. This is a former Big East match-up and I am just not sold on Villanova making enough shots from the arc to stay with Syracuse at home. Syracuse has covered 4 of their last 5 games. The Wildcats have been playing a bunch of Big 5 games of late and I just do not believe that they are ready for this battle.
4 Unit Play. #560 Take Kent State Golden Flashes -3 over Cleveland State Vikings (7 pm) The Vikings have been in rebuilding mode the last two years and this number is short considering it is a true road game. The last two wins for the Vikings have been against non-division one teams and they have yet to beat a team from Ohio this season. In their annual meeting in 2012 Kent State went into the mistake by the lake and won by 17 points. Kent State is 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games against teams with a winning record.
4 Unit Play. #562 Take Boston College Eagles +9 over VCU Rams (7:30 pm FS2) The Eagles have been one of the most disappointing teams this season in college basketball and believe it or not they have more talent than does VCU. The Rams are not a great offensive team, they just live and die by pressure and turnovers. If you do not turnover the basketball you can beat VSU, plain and simple. VCU is 3-12 (1 push) in their last 15 games against teams with a losing record. Boston College needs to slow down the pace and if they accomplish that they can take this game down to the wire.
4 Unit Play. #584 Take UTEP Miners -11.5 over Western Illinois Leathernecks (9:30 pm) The Miners have a rock solid defense that should be able to suffocate the Leathernecks for 40 minutes. Western Illinois has lost three of their last four games and four of their seven losses this season have come by double digits. Western Illinois is 0-6 ATS in their last 6 road games. UTEP is 12-1 ATS in their last 13 home games. UTEP is hosting this tournament so you can be sure they gave themselves an easy draw. As the saying goes, never invite a team you know you cannot beat.
4 Unit Play. #589 Take Belmont Bruins +6.5 over Indiana State Sycamores (1 pm WAWV-TV) The Bruins have played a daunting schedule thus far in 2013 and if they can go into Lexington & Chapel Hill, they should have no problem taking this game down to the wire in Terre Haute. These two teams played 43 days ago with Belmont winning that game straight-up in Nashville. ISU is 1-7 ATS in their last 8 games played at the Hulman Center. Belmont is starting to get healthy and expect the results to show up in a big way on Saturday.Comment
