BIG AL's 5* NFL GAME OF THE YEAR (79-57 THIS SEASON) -- Sunday
At 6:30 pm, on Sunday, our selection is on the Seattle Seahawks minus the points over San Francisco. We played on Seattle last week and, but for a late line move (the pointspread was -8 or -7.5 from Monday through Saturday morning, before moving higher, and closing at -10), the Seahawks would have pushed or covered. Still, even with a loss against the closing line last week, Seattle's still a terrific 56-22 straight-up at CenturyLink Field, and an incredible 50-25-3 ATS since 2005! And in the Playoffs, they're 4-1-1 ATS. The story of the games between these two teams has been the same the past two years. Seattle's won blowouts at home (42-13; 29-3), while San Francisco has won close games at Candlestick (13-6; 19-17). This will be San Francisco's 4th straight road game, and since 1980, NFL road teams are a poor 12-40 straight-up and 18-33-1 ATS if they were also on the road their previous two games, including 14-32-1 ATS when not a double-digit underdog. All of these reasons are fine to play on Seattle. But the clincher for me is that I have other systems that have records of 26-0, 110-55, 73-15, 39-5, 52-10, 30-3 and 82-35 on the Seahawks. Our 26-0 ATS system is particularly strong and involves playing on certain teams with big scoring margins (Seattle's is +11.4) and great defenses (Seattle's defensive avg. is 14.5). Take Seattle. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie.
Utah Indiana St. (this is also his 3rd money line play of year, hit first two which I posted here on Kansas St. over Oklahoma St. and this week UNLV over New Mexico) He has them as a guaranteed pick plus points and then smaller play on money line DePaul
The Sharps like to look extra hard at home dogs. We also like to find quality teams with their "backs to the wall" and I think we have found that situation tonight in Champaign. Michigan State comes into this game at 16-1 and ranked fourth in the country. Illinois has been struggling and they come into tonight's game trying to avoid a fourth straight loss. The most painful may have been last week's home loss to Purdue. Illinois is 18-10 against the spread versus the Spartans since 1997 and 10-3 against the spread versus Michigan State at home since 1997. The Spartans have had very little luck in Champaign in recent years. The last time these two met one year ago, the Spartans turned in their worst shooting performance under Izzo, shooting 24.1 percent in a 42-41 loss. Michigan State comes into this game with Adreian Payne questionable and it sounds like he may not play tonight, which will help Illinois on the interior. Regardless of Payne's status, we are backing the home dog here with their backs to the wall. Illinois HC John Groce has a knack for getting the most out of his teams and we expect a motivated performance tonight. The Sharps say...
