KEN THOMSON | Triple-Dime Bet
3* {815} Kentucky -1 vs Wisconsin
Analysis:
At the beginning of the the Big Dance when filling out my bracket....I put Michigan State to beat Wisconsin....with Florida and Wichita State being my other two Final Four teams. I thought Kentucky would win their opener over Kansas State but thought it would be close. The Wildcats impressed me in the SEC Tournament with their blow out by 18 of LSU and the 12-point win over Georgia. This after closing the regular season by losing 4 of 7 and had it not been for a late put back in OT vs. LSU at home it would have been 5 of 7. Then came the SEC Title game vs. the Gators who pummeled the Cats by 19 the last game of the regular season in Gainesville. Florida also won the game in Lexington by 10 points February 15th. Florida again jumped out to a huge lead but the Cats fought back and lost the game by a point and had a chance to win it on the last shot. That shot never happened as James Young slipped on his drive to the rack. However it showed me that the Cats could play at the level they needed to heading in to the Big Dance. I still thought they would lose second round to Wichita State but they played a perfect game against the Shockers. The next game showed even more maturity as the Cats fell behind Louisville 20-7. Realistically, I thought the Cats were going to get blown out. They cut it to two by half time and I felt they could win the game. Then the back and forth game with Michigan was epic. Aaron Harrison had ZERO points with twelve minutes left. He nailed four straight triples, including the game winner with 2.7 seconds left. Not only did that win the game, it covered the 2-point number. This team is on a mission to the Final. Wisconsin is a great story as well and I picked them to lose in the Finals vs. Michigan State in my only bracket. Kaminsky was awesome vs. AZ but will be shut down to around 12-15 points in this one. If Brust or Gasser don't have a huge game from behind the Arc, the Badgers will have trouble scoring enough points to beat the Blue and White. Jackson has been solid and Dekkar is dangerous on occasion and although I'll be with my hot friend from Wisconsin.....I think I may end up consoling her after the game....but at least I'll have the $$ to spend on her!! I like Kentucky by six 68-62
